I had a dog save me from myself as well. More incredibly, he was not mine and he appeared out of nowhere on very remote beach that was otherwise empty. He came up silently and immediately leaned hard against me; there he stayed and we watched the water until I finally had the strength to leave. When we were halfway up the rocks I turned to him but he was gone. I looked everywhere and went back for days to find him again. When vacation was over I was on the dirt road leading to the paved route and at the last driveway there he was, sitting alone but at full attention watching me slowly pass by. I could see his family up by the house and wondered if they knew that they were living with a beautiful and powerful spirit; disguised as a small dog?
Wow!!!! đâ€ïž
Crying. Hugs to you and the angel in dog form.
I call that a God shot!
@@pjt3887 Not particularly religious but do agree as mere mortals we do not know everything. Some things are "simply" experienced on a different level...hopefully one is open to receiving it if/when it does occur. I have never lived without a dog since that week 23 years ago. Her story had me in tears. Depression is such an evil invading force which can happen to anybody. I am so glad she as his support. đ
Sir Winston Churchill had depression and called it his black dog.
I don't blame them for not recognizing this dog as a dog, they really grow big and it's impressive.
they mostly are just "no thoughts head empty OH A LAP LET ME ON YOUR LAP"
I was working at a construction site at the edge of a forested area and a newfie came walking out of it. I 100% thought it was a bear until I saw some girls with a leash behind it.
Love them, but I wish they had a longer lifespan.
I don't blame them either. The size of the Newfoundland dog is amazing. Not to mention their chill and laid-back demeanor.
My grandmother had a newfy and she often had aninal control and the police at her house because someone called about a "giant bear" in her yard
@@corig1939 After a coiuple of calls and visits, knowibng the adress, one would think that that both the police and animal control, would know it is not a bear, but a dog.
I had a bear, she passed over the rainbow last year, they are the best dog!!! They are very protective and they are often referred to as "NANNIES" because they are good taking care of children. They are very sweet gentle giants, that look like a bear. Birds scattered when my dog was with me and sometimes they would dive-bomb her because they thought she was a threat, I guess. Beautiful Dog!

I grew up with a Newfoundland
And I agree with you, they are super sweet.. I woke up on my 13th birthday and saw a white sheet covering something in our backyard.. I ran out to uncover it thinking it was a birthday present. Napoleon is the most friendliest "bear" I ever saw! He's a nice dog for being loyal to his owner and her child (in and out of the womb). He's truly one of God's furriest angels.
Look up orphan wildlife centre. They have so real bears there and they are very friendly and adorable.

Grandma has a dog. When I opened the door out came Sailor..OMG I nearly peed, but fell in love.
A big moosey dog! Lol
And I thought my 70 lb American Staffordshire was big.
*Not!* đ€Ł
My family had a newfie when I was a kid and he was awesome and everything people say about the breed. However! I have encountered a hyper aggressive newfoundland. Not to me, he literally tried to eat my chihuahua's. (no it was not playful, the owner had a collar that worked as a muzzle and between that and me pulling my dogs by their leashes was the only thing that stopped it.)
I've only met one that had that issue though. Every other newfie is exactly as advertised.
You are so lucky to have that beautiful animal in your life.
Anyone with depression should have a dog ,so glad he helped you. What a beautiful ,gentle giant đđđđđ
As someone with depression, I most definitely shouldn't have a dog. Cats suits me better. I love dogs but I'm not suitable to own one.
@@Ikajo Same goes for me. A dog would give me stress because I have to get out and walk it, play with it etc. It's too much for me.
@@citroniron3293 Yup. For someone who can barely get out of bed, a dog isn't the right choice. I grew up with dogs, so I know quite well what is required.
I have a nine year old pug that helps immensely with my depression. I'm also schizophrenic and he knows when I'm having panic attacks or hearing voices. I'm pretty well controlled on medication, but I don't know where I'd be without a family that loves me and my Kismet.
It depends on the person. I need a push when Iâm in a depressive state and having someone else to care for, to feed, to go outside and walk helps me get through it. Just the routine of it can keep me going until I start to come out of it.
i can't believe she shared her story about depression, especially while she was pregnant. she is so strong!! đđ«đ
God bless this dog that came into your life at just the right moment.
The very definition of a good boy.
Newfie's have the biggest hearts, both the Dogs and The People.
It's like animals feel your pain and see all the emotions.
Awesome dogs! A neighbor had two Newfies when I was young (both weighed about 180 I think) and we would have them pull us around on our skateboards! Not fast, just walking around. The dogs would actually bring us the skateboards, carrying them in their mouths. This was the late 70's when skateboards were mostly small plastic things that weighed maybe a pound or two. Always great fun and great protection. Nobody messed with us when we were riding.
Growing up my family dog would pulls my siblings and me in a toboggan in the winter. He was a husky terrior cross.
Aww, this is adorable, especially the part about the dogs bringing you the skateboards like âHey, letâs go for a ride!â
What a cool looking dog he does look like a bear. He's beautiful and cute. Your son is adorable as well! I hope you are feeling better. God sends us help in mysterious ways. Great video

"He really is an angel, in the shape of a Newfoundland. It's the best kind". I'm teary-eyed too. â€â€â€đ
This dog certainly is "angelic"! He really seems to have formed a bond with your little boy when he was still in your womb. We definitely don't know just what kinds of "powers" animals have! We had one just like him for 13 years and his temperament and size were a lot the same as your Napolean's. He was one of a litter of 6 puppies that my husband and I found in a culvert by a busy road not far from our house in the country. Turned out that the mother belonged to a man who lived about a 1/4 mile from there, down that road, and that poor mama had no shelter at all, anywhere, so she had done the best she could, bless her! We kept Sam's sister Tipper, and found homes for the other 4 puppies, two to each home. We never knew who their papa was, but the vet said Sam was definitely a Newfie! He was so huge and sweet and lovable and laid-back that we sometimes would call him Doofy Sam. He will always have a special place in our hearts, as will Tipper and the other four! Napolean brings back lots of sweet memories to us. You and your son are so fortunate to have him, and he, you!
I used to have a Newfoundland just like Napoleon. His name was Nelson.
Cheers to Napoleon!
If a wild beasts chooses me to be their companion I'd graciously accept it.
As someone who grew up in a house with Newfoundlandâs, and still has them as pets in my own house, they are basically Velcro dogs: they stick to you no matter what. Theyâre also born babysitters, the breed is well known for having a love of babies and children. You do have to be careful they donât accidentally knock a child over, but otherwise Iâve never heard of a Newfoundland that was dangerous. They are protective if strangers come near, but they wonât just randomly attack strangers either. When I was around 4 I used to walk one of our Newfoundlandâs on a leash alone, which I can recall always got a lot of looks from people. Itâs especially funny when people will cross to the other side of the street if youâre walking one, they just assume it could be an aggressive dog.
Lol that's cute!!
I can't even imagine how many lives dogs have saved.
That's so heartwarming story.
the snoring! too cute.
Iâm sure my dogs is cuter
I can normally fight back tears through these vids, but this one got to me. I have struggled years with depression and anxiety and her sharing her story really touched me. I'm so glad the stigma of mental health is continually being broken. â€
I love when people talk about the harder side of pregnancy, everyone goes through some level of this but weâve been conditioned to not dare say it lest you be labeled ungrateful. It is NOT a an indictment on anyone elseâs character that a pregnant woman talk about their own experiences, most importantly their struggles. People need to stop projecting their own emotions and desires onto others, particularly when it comes to vulnerable pregnant people. Stop gatekeeping other peopleâs experiences. This womanâs struggles have nothing to do with and is NOT connected to how much she wants or doesnât want this pregnancy, it is quite literally only how sheâs feeling mentally and emotionally in the moment due to the rollercoaster of hormones fluctuating through her body. Stop judging and start listening. We all stand to learn something from everyoneâs individual experiences if only weâd be willing to quiet ourselves long enough to hear what others are actually saying.
I commend her for her willingness to be open and honest about a difficult time in her life and share what helped her through â„ïžđđđ
This fluffball was her rock through a difficult time and now is her boys best friend. This is such a beautiful story. đ„°
I agree. The father wasnât mentioned and I am sure itâs scarier to think of raising a child alone. There could be other things going on in a personâs life she didnât mention. She didnât have an abortion. Not everyone has an easy pregnancy and just bounces back like celebrities.
Just to let you know my daughter also suffered with depression after giving birth. Very hard for her as she's had 3 pregnancies while finishing a Doctorate . Things are better now but not 100% back to how she use to feel. Sentient Beings are our salvation.

I am grateful for your courage to speak about mental illness in a practical way people can relate to.
I really feel with this story. I knew I had depression from a young age, but I went through a really bad cycle of it when I dealt with emotional abuse from a caretaker who was also suffering mental illness. I was in a really dark place and thought of ending it multiple times, and every time I did, there was my maine coon cat, either yowling outside my door to be let in, or meowing at me and then head-butting me and demanding I cuddle him instead. He saved me many times, I canât imagine life without him. Hes actually on my lap now.
Heartwarming to see such a caring dogđ

U can see it in that cute fluffs eyes that he really cares for his mama and her son. God bless that dog

I suffer from anxiety whenever I start spiralling my English bulldog is right there helping me through it. Dogs are amazing and we are lucky to have them in our lives.
This story reminds me of the movie A Dog's Purpose. (I highly recommend it!) We generally think we take care of our dogs. But, at the same time, THEY are clearly devoted to and taking care of US.

My dog once saved my life too. Was feeling low and depressed and she would just sit or lie down next to me. I also remember the first time she did that and I just cried and cried. Dogs are absolutely incredible
This story bought tears to my eyes, Napoleon is a TRUE hero, he knew that his human was feeling extremely down and decided that they needed comforting and protection, thus making that their human didn't go over the edge and keeps an eye on them afterwards, simply being there and giving undying love without asking for anything in return, shows that they are a angel at heart!
This is such a strong lady. I had the same experience when Iwas pregnant for my 3rd child. All I ever heard was BS about how I should be "so excited!". My ex was zero help with that as well. Part of why he's my ex. I'm so glad she had someone so close to her!

These are the most beautiful dogs! I first saw 5 in a park. They belonged to a wonderful couple. I really wanted my granddaughter, who was maybe 3, to see them but was unsure about their reactions to children. After talking to the owners about my anxiety, they reassured me and helped my little one get to know their "family!" The dogs were great with her, so patient and even careful with her. Iâve always been in love with dogs but as I get older and see how humanity keeps repeating the same sad mistakes from hatred, jealousy and political agressions, I really start to believe that dogs are the BEST gift, if not angels, from the beyond to us.
Big dogs are normally very kind and loving. Less unsecure and tearful...like little onces
Yeah. I know this because I grew up with bullmastiffs so Iâm used to gentle giants.
I have a miniature dachshund whose dumb as rocks and chill as hell and just the absolute sweetest boy and I dont know how I got a small dog with a big dog sense of chill.
All of them are really our own personal therapy dogs at heart - They're the most patient, attentive, compassionate listeners who never interrupt or talk over you, they are always aware of every movement, where you are & what you're doing, they can make you smile even when you are struggling to find joy elsewhere in life, they tell you if new people entering your life are friend or foe and they instinctively know if you are needing some extra care & love. All this and they really ask for so little in return.
