    Touch screens and lots if tech are not an advantage. The electronics fail and several years down the road, replacement boards may not be available. Happened to a friend’s Dacor. Warranties are a joke.

    I have a 25 year old Roper gas range that is probably a lot better built than any of these overpriced toys. Get rid of ALL the electronics and a range is a lot cheaper and it lasts FOREVER.
    People are in a delicate position these days and the last thing they need is a multi thousand dollar $400 range.

    buy the most simple rang possible. All that touch screen and electronics is sitting right next to very high heat and steam. It fails. More mechanical the better.
    Second never use the self clean function. It significantly reduces the life of your appliance. A bunch of brands have even switched from the older really high heat self clean to some sort of new steam clean systems, i suspect because the old self clean caused too many warranty repairs.

      Hi,I want to buy a new cooker what do you recommend ,I agree with you ,I have this feeling that the digital panel is going to heat up during cooking or it may be damaged because of steam

    • @johnbrews9724
      @johnbrews9724 Před 3 lety +1

      Unfortunately, for the GE Profile gas range, the steam clean feature is a joke. The high-temp clean works, but killed the oven control panel on mine. So manual clean with vinegar and water after each use of the oven is where things stand.

    • @RainCity3rd
      @RainCity3rd Před 3 lety +1

      @@johnbrews9724 steam clean is never going to work as well as super high heat, but as you said it can outright destroy the applian or just shortens its life. I'd never use one considering the repair folks advise against it, I'll take their word on it.
      But you should not have to clean your oven after each use that's crazy. Also use Simone way stronger! Oven cleaner is great but super harsh, barkeepers friend far less harsh if it's not as dirty.

    The electronic front panel is a known design flaw problem, and expensive problem. Water boils or what other issues get on it and shorts out computer board.

    We bought an LG gas stove & oven with the ability to use convection oven, sliding a middle piece in to use the double stove.
    Right off the bat, self cleaning never worked since the day we bought it, the temperature in the oven is consistently 25° to 40° lower than the set temperature. The main electrical board had to be replaced within the 1st year & it wasn't covered under the warranty, so it was an out of pocket expense. 2 months ago (right after Thanksgiving) the oven stopped heating up over 175°...so it's been absolutely useless.
    We bought all new appliances at that time & they were all LG appliances and we've already replaced the washer & dryer YEARS ago, we're currently shopping for a new gas stove on top with electric/air fry oven. After that a new refrigerator will be the last one due for replacement.
    If anyone knows of a great gas top/electric oven w/air fryer please leave me a comment...No more LG's though please lol.😉

    I own the pictured #3 range, the GE Profile. It is a nice piece of equipment, but mine failed after 36 hours when I turned on the high-temp self-clean. GE replaced my unit, but I am fearful that the electronics cannot survive the high temperature self-clean cycle,

    I wish they'd put in the serial number to make it easier to look these up. I"m having such a hard time! Appliance people all say to not buy Samsung or LG because it's hard to get parts and repairs done. But, many review sites like this, Consumer Reports, and Design Appliance, rate LG and Samsung high. Sheesh! I look them up and Samsung had issues with paint falling off and the oven cooking unevenly even with convection. Wow, so hard and I'm running out of time before the Black Friday sales end on Dec. 5th.

    Thanks for the video. None of these appeals me because I cook at home and looking for double oven. the goal is to when I cook little amount use appropriate space either up or down cabby to heat up instead of the whole box. Next point I like to make is no matter what price or feature GE use or stand out , I will stay away from this brand because GE fails in both durability and reliability.
