  • Replacing the default touch-screen protector on a Presonus StudioLive Series III console. This is a BORING video.
Also, I talk about (and show) why setting up in one hour (as a small percentage of people think) is not a possibility with the events we do.

People who didn't do this types of activity usually do not know what they talking about.
I'm not that proffesional while i'm doing events, and i am home event guy - meaning that i only take my stuff from garage to the outdoor sceene about 10 m away (30 feet).
But setting it all up takes time, every time not less then 2 hours, and i do it for:
    - 2 subs, 2 tops on poles,
    - metal table for DJ (me),
    - one laptop + one controller,
    - some sound processing equipment (if needed),
    - 2 lifts for truss,
    - 6 m (18 feet) truss,
    - changing ammount of lights,
    - changing ammount of cables (all types - electric, dmx, sound, mic, usb, patches, extension cords).
And i'm the only person doing this thing, i'm alone, so even if i'm going like crazy with speed, i was not able to get much faster than that.
And always I'm literally dripping with sweat. And i'm 45 yo.

Nice to finally see an proper screen protector on it. The plastic the put on from factory is technically meant to be taken off before the console is taken in use which is why now with something more appropriate which is meant for screen protection on there its more vibrant and more responsive

Thanks for the comment. It was nice to finally get them all changed out to something more appropriate.

In all honesty (and I see the same thing with Bart and Stacey of The Sound Couple):
You could streamline time spend on unloading and loading your van and the amount of tubs that you guys log around.
In the Netherlands we park as close as possible to wherever our equipment needs to be. Furthermore is all equipment that can be on wheels actually on wheels.
Same for cases: No hassling with bags over here.
A ramp is considered "Standard Equipment" for every van or truck.
And for the same size events as yours we usually have ONE very well organized roadcase on wheels which has all of our cables that are usually labeled and color coded.
That alone can save you about 15 to 20 minutes and maybe even more.

I think it all comes down to what gear and how much you have to set up. The band im in now we take roughly and hr to set up from start to finish. The band i used to be in shoot it to 30 minutes. It was bare minimum gear. Amps couple mics my kit which was never miced up. He had an 8 channel powered mixer head i think. Passive speakers. One monitor wedge. No effects pedals on anything. No subs. He didnt even mic amps. Plain Jane set up. But that was 25 yrs ago. Prolly would of sounded better with everything miced for sure. Times have changed with all the nice technology. Love the videos!!

An hour? We played an outdoor customer appreciation event on Saturday. Full pro analog PA system. 17 inputs. 92⁰ and humid. No way that was taking just one hour. Arrived at noon. PA was up and line checked by 3:00, except for the drums. Soundcheck was completed by 4:30. Event started at 5:30 and down beat was 7:00.

You can also get anti-glare screen protectors which make it much easier to operate in sunlight

Sounds like the touch screen has gone bad. I have never heard of that type of issue with any touch screen. You may want to open a support ticket with Presonus to see if they have a fix available for it. Or, it's possible you may need to replace the touch screen.

    Thanks for your video.
Where can I get the screen protector?
Can it fit to my Qu-24 desk?

Thanks for your comment. I got that screen protector from Amazon. There are a few sheets of the protector in the package. You will need to cut the sheets to fit whatever size you need. I replaced the "default" protector on my QU-16 with this protector.
