i'm shamefully glad there's not millions of subs on this channel because this is really the secret sauce to get better at chess. You're the best teacher i've ever had in any field in my entire life. And because of that i wish you to be rewarded with as many subs as possible. Long live Danya our Sensei
I agree 💯%, he does deserve more subs though honestly
damn i never actually acknowledged how many subs danya has he def deserves more. A good thing about not having mills of subs is they’re real fans
Agreed!!
LONG LIVE DANYA!!!
I absolutely agree! I haven't come across another chess channel where the teachings are so succint yet elaborative and incredibly full of insight of all sort of things. Danya has truely mastered the art of teaching. Best channel for chess, no question! Plus, he's such a positive, wholesome and uplifting personality that I always have a smile on my face for the full duration! :)
I love that Danya isn’t farming the cheating drama, just plowing ahead with quality videos like nothing ever happened
He farmed it on a different platform. So there’s that.
@@Chris.4345i don't think you can even call what he does farming when u compare it to how levy farms cheater content
@@bodhiyonzon8912😂😂😂😂

These speed runs are absolute gold. I’ve rewatched a few of the series. I just enjoy the extremely thorough explanation of everything. It’s no wonder the New York Times picked this guy up. Most underrated chess channel. His lack of clickbait makes continued steady growth very likely.
Something about Danya's videos (particularly the speedruns) that I find fascinating is the rewatchability. Like yourself, I must've rewatched all of them multiple times from start to finish, and every time I learn something new.
"You must learn to play boring positions"
Immediately plays g5
time stamp
@@LoversIncMusic 17:27
A. He doesn't "immediately" play it. He plays it 2 moves later. And only after giving a detailed explanation of why. Even if he does admit that it's a bit drastic.
.
B. You weren't listening every well because he says (around 14:52) that it will not stay boring forever and when the time comes for confrontation, the placement of pieces will matter greater. Funny enough I was going add a comment about how those that say boring position are no fun are the precisely the ones that make a mistake in the "boring" part and ran over fast. They get their wish on makes the game fun.. just not for them because they'll be their ass whipped.
@@vsolcarv Chill
It was a joke
Man danya's excitement and passion for chess is just so captivating! how can you not love it. So instructive
A small stream following does NOT diminish the level of play and knowledge brought to us! Huge fan Danya, hope to meet you someday
So excited to see my favorite opening at a high level. Amazing stuff 👏
You might not have as many subs as the bigger channels, but you have more ethics and principles unlike the other clickbaiters and I respect that.
Agree but this video isn’t exactly the greatest example lol
@@gianlucamarcon1577 what about this video was unethical or clickbaity?
@@koolaids-man8668 I guess you must win the argument. Well done in life.
The fact you aren’t already 300k is absolute robbery. Everybody better go and sub to this man and turn notifications on
Life Lesson at 53:31. Remember in boring positions, you don't want to self destruct. You want to make incremental improving moves.
Can't overstate how much I appreciate your content. Love the focus on what's salient about a position, and how the truth is formed and then emerges move-by-move.
I started playing in December 2019 but really started playing rapid in during March 2020 during lockdowns. I have tried a couple books (Soviet chess primer, Zurich 1952), but I find it harder to learn from books. These series are what primarily drive my rating increases. I’m now nearing 1900 in rapid
Thanks again Danya. Amazing amazing stuff. Always looking forward to these.
Man I wish this kind of free high quality content was available when I started out with chess as a teenager many many years ago
Love these videos. Absolutely love them!
Don't get me wrong I love Levy and I love Agadmator, but I whole-heartedly believe Danya deserves to be the #1 chess channel on CZcams.
I think they all are good at different things and quite complement each other. For instance Levy, who I also follow, is great for beginners and intermediate players. He is more engaging and probably the best at getting new people into chess. Danya is more advanced and thorough; he's not for beginners. His explanations are amazing, but takes a lot for granted from the audience. As I said, both are great. Choosing "sides" (e.g., Levy or Danya, Agadmator vs. Danya, etc.) is. pointless and outright harmful. Many people like to do that, but it's wrong.
Levy is very entertaining in addition to also being instructive. But when it comes to purely instructive content (not that these videos aren't 'entertaining' in their own right) I feel like Daniel has no equal on YT, at least not from the channels I've checked out so far.
Love the extensive commentary, please don’t ever withhold your thought process cause you think your boring us, I love hearing every idea going through your head.
0:30 "This 4th speedrun has been about playing classical openings and taking care of fundamentals"
*Danya having spent the entire speedrun playing the Smith-Morra and sacking pieces straight out of the opening*
Just saw the notification and i already know this is gonna be an amazing game. Vienna gambit always brings a bunch of interesting tactical oportunities and vivid lively positions
Being playing the Vienna for the last weeks with not much success but very fun and wild games. Looking further to grasp some ideas out of the video! Thanks for the awesome and educational content Danya!
check out the St Lewis chess clubs video on the vienna its very informative ✌️
From looking at the thumbnail, it seems he's actually playing as black, AGAINST the Vienna. But GothamChess has a pretty good video on playing the Vienna as White, you should check that out.
If you play e4 try out the Scotch. At my level of 1500 it seems ridiculously strong. A lot of people don't even see the checkmate threat from the Scotch Gambit. 🤣
@@deadvirgin428 Please don't direct beginners to watch Gotham lol, all he proposes are bad short term solutions
@@SerLaama That's patently untrue.
Keep up the your good work, and you will keep getting subs in no time. Been subbed for a while love your teaching
Thaks a lot!
"I think plans are overrated." (14:21) I agree! This past year, I reevaluated my chess and discovered that that one of my weaknesses is not realizing that there is nothing really to do. In the past, I often tried to make something happen when there was really nothing to do. It often happens where your opponent has a solid position where there really is no "plan" other than trying to improve your position. If your pieces are well-placed and harmonizing, a plan will eventually come.
Amazing game. You have incredible teaching ability and I never get bored watching.
I primarily watch on youtube, but I'm always sure to give you my twitch prime sub because your analysis, thoughts and advice is invaluable in helping me improve my own approach. I have dozens of pages of notes on tactics and positions from your commentary because your pedagogy really is unparalleled and I hope your channel continues to grow.
i really like these speed runs where you analyze a lot with us gives me a chance to learn and understand how a master thinks during game of chess thanks Danya
Love your videos Daniel, everytime I've played with people and they say "wow you've gotten better!" it's because of you! I always say, oh i've been watching a lot of Daniel Naroditsky videos haha
Subscribed, thanks for the educational content.
hey guy! your commentary during tata steel was on point! just subbed!
These videos are amazing! Great insight and instructions. These videos are great for studying material.
I just started learning chess and have been watching tons of videos to learn and get better. Your videos have by far been the most helpful. You are a terrific teacher. Watching your chess videos have allowed me to experience notable improvement in my chess game. Thanks so much. Keep up the excellent work.
Genuinely nuts that you are "a lot smaller than some of the bigger channels-" your content is more helpful and engaging than all of the bigger (chess) channels combined. Thank you, Sensei!
9:02 you are definitely not talking too much. I found you and your channel from watching the speed chess championship stream and really enjoying your commentary. The videos I've watched so far are a goldmine of theory and the reasoning behind moves for someone like me. Gotta shout out Levy for getting me interested in chess streamers and CZcamsrs in the first place but I think I found my new favorite YT chess teacher.
When you just waste time on CZcams waiting for the next speedrun installment and it finally pops up 💯💯💯
Incredible to have access to such high quality chess content like this. Thanks Danya ❤
What an instructive game!🙏
I really appreciate these videos you put out, Danya.
You explain things so clearly! Thank you.
I’ve never seen one of these premier before. The little intro music and animation is cool
Quality lesson. One hour video totally worth it. It's not about the subscribers count, it's all about the value you create with your video. BTW you got one more subscriber.
Thank you for these videos
A lot smaller, but a lot better Danya! Thank you for everything you do to teach and enlighten us!
Yesssss new episode i love it
I liked the video and I subscribed!
Insane how good these videos are. I'm very new to chess (2 months of intensive play, currently 1000 rapid), and you can explain these more advanced concepts with such amazing precision and clarity. Thank you!
Another banger, keep it up danya
I kinda feel proud as being ur subscriber at 1k ,2k I think (dunno if I first subbed with this account or another account)... Danya Sensei's teaching will reach out to millions through this channel in the future...
I am kinda new to your channel. But i definitly like yours the most. It is just the way you explain it, just a little better than anyone else but this makes the difference
As a Vienna player, this was so helpful. Thanks for everything you do Danya❤
As a teacher, I love the takeaways at the end!
Love your videos Danya! and love you too
Wow...i have seen you around for many years (i watch barthalomew when he was getting started)...but this was the first time I really "tuned in". You are my new fav. Incredibly articulate and informative. Love how you explain your ideas and thoughts.
I have a few games on my channel, where I am trying to record my thoughts in a game(i figure its the easiest and ultimate way to annotate my games). For a guy who has been studying for 10 years, I am terrible :/ but I still really want to progress. I will chew on the rest of your content now. Thank you. 🙌
Curious...do you do private lessons?
the best chess content on youtube by a longshot is this
So much beauty in chess, so much passion in Danyas voice, eyes
Goated content for improving, ty mr Naro
PARDON THE CAPS BUT THIS WAS SO EXCITING AND BENEFICIAL TO YOUR AUDIENCE. Dan. YOU PUT IN EXTRAORDINARY PERSONAL EFFORT TO A LEVEL I DO NOT SEE ON OTHER CREATOR SITES TO BRING OUR MINDS INTO THE GAME IN A CLEAR AND DECISIVE LEVEL WITH UNIQUE PERSONAL SKILL AND WITH MORE EFFORT BY FAR FROM WHAT I EXPERIENCE AS THE NORM FROM OTHER CHESS CREATORS!. I'm EXTREMELY GRATEFUL FOR YOUR STYLE AND AM GOING TO BEGIN SHARING THESE OUTSTANDING MEATHEADS OF TEACHING TO FRIENDS AND OTHERS IN SUPPORT AND FURTHER GROWTH SO WELL DESERVED HERE. THANK YOU SIR!! .... MIKE.
World class commentary as always
wtf... Why have I not found this guy before?
dude you're fucking amazing!! Thank you so much for explaining EVERY idea in your head. THE BEST TEACHER.
He’s amazing. I watched other popular chess CZcamsrs and I’d pick up a thing or two. When I started watching Daniel my elo has doubled.
Great game
You’re awesome man
u r an awesome teacher
"I think plans are overrated"
You said that so casually, yet it was such an eye-opener for me. Definitely an a-ha moment.
thanks
this middle game felt like the berlin main line :/ but still incredibly instructive. thanks for all the effort danya.
hii danya, just wanted to say thank you for existing :))
Te amo Danya, literalmente el mejor
oh man I just realized I wasn't subscribed! I watch all your videos Danya, you gotta bring that up more!
Loving the channel, hope the quality format stays the same.
Holy shit! Danya’s playing my repertoire!!!!
Danya you are absolutelegend
opponents didn't like blundered a whole lot but leaded to a devastating checkmate
this is what amazing about SGM like Danya
hes not a super gm, can you guys stop saying that under every video pls
His opponent didn't make any tactical blunder yet he got blown of the board.
Subbed
The Petrosian game is indeed very famous. Just the other day, browsing thru a book I found it. Great lesson, as usual.
Ooh a premiere haven’t seen this before
i like how danya is genuinely excited about the game which in turn makes me want to watch, unlike another utuber that screams and gets artificially excited to get the noobs attention.
Danya we just love you
That moment when Danya ruminates with hands upon his face always leads to something truly remarkable.
I love when Danya says "Let me calculate."
nice
Vienna Gambit is very fun
It used to be... Until Danya crushed it
I haven't seen anyone teach chess this well on yt & I've subscribed to all the major chess channels.
Another 2 good educational channels are Hanging Pawns, plenty of opening theory, strategy and game analisis; and ChessCoach Andras, IM who overall is very experienced as a coach and with good fudamental knowledge.
d5 is the clear best move vs the Vienna Gambit.. But as someone who plays it for white, d6 is also pretty hard to punish. Black is by no means lost if they play d6
This will hit 1 million subs in next 2 years. Faster if he can market better may be using social media. But I have recommended it to everyone I talk to for sure. This is easily the best channel ever.
Nice to see as a King’s gambit player, I transpose to this often
who needs potty mouthed Danya when you get phrases like "bloody the waters"? Love it 😄
Thanks Daniel I continue to consume your content as voraciously as ever!
16:09 this is so perfect for a certain meme
Grats for the well-deserved 1 points
You just changed it, now it’s bloody the waters👍lol
9:00 Imagine acting in a movie and narrating at the same damn time
We need to get Danya to 1 million subs and beyond. I think it would be well earned.
You make the best chess content on CZcams, sub count aside.
este mae es una bestia!
If the next speedrun is more geared towards d4-openings, that would be cool!
Wish opponent played the Qf3 variation but amazing to see the old system get put thru the danya gauntlet
Your opponent is very very strong for a 1735 - he/she seems very underrated to me. Almost all his moves were in the top 3 for Stockfish until Nd2 towards the end. In particular c4 is a very challenging move I think, for a 1735-rated player to find. Stockfish had it as a number 1 move and your opponent found it. Well done him! Incredible.
I'm hoping people understand sarcasm....
Yall are so cringe, literally every video someones calling the opponent a cheater. I know youre 400 elo but devloping moves that dont blunder any pieces arent hard to find. The guy is 1750, he knows how to develop and not hang pieces. Youre 400 elo. Stop talking weirdo. Imagine thinking someone cheated just to lose the match. You literally put the game through an engine, you are literally projecting your engine use.
@@howardgraff4084 It's a good thing you explained it to us, we were going to take you seriously
I still think that bh2 might have been played even before re6...great video! thanks!
This content is worth its wait in gold.
Oh no my Vienna!
Danya what do you think about doing a speedrun but more gambit-like/not-so-solid version, maybe with some tricky openings, highly tactical from the very beginning?
