Modern Warfare II's DMZ can be a daunting one, so this DMZ Tips & Tricks video goes over the 15 secret tips and tricks I've learnt from my time playing DMZ and making the most of the mode. This is MW2 DMZ Tips & Tricks, with a full MW2 DMZ Guide explaining the Top 15 DMZ Tips. DMZ is Call of Duty's newest Extraction Shooter mode, with a lot of hardcore elements that are not obvious/easy upon first playthroughs. I really shouldn't reveal this, but the binoculars are extremely useful. Can switch on thermal and see enemy players up to 500m away. AI spawns around 200m away from players. So if you see on thermals, then players are nearby. Also you can easily spot enemy players.
Best of all, no glint. So you will get that first shot with a sniper without having to be revealed while scanning for targets.

Heres a tip for you then, the helicopter commander can actually be shot out with just a regular gun and a wellplaced shot resulting in the helo just spinning out of control, this is especially easy if you use the mounted 50 cal or just sprsy randomly towards it. Got him 3 times so far leaning out my window with a rpk just spraying in his direction (i get the headshot ___ meters im usually in a car) then it blows up and i get the boss xp too ez breezy

When you say binoculars, are you referring to the spotter scope? I haven’t found any binoculars yet.
One thing I've noticed in both warzone and dmz is that people usually don't check first aid boxes so even if a house has been searched, just go ahead and search the bathroom. I can't tell you how many self revies and revie pistols I've found that people missed because they didn't look in the bathroom.

Secret pro tip #16: There are "dead drop" locations around the map that will allow you to drop cash to reduce the cool down of your insured weapons.

The one I found was by accident, it was a white dumpster. I think I dropped 20k in it and it reduced my cool down by what I'm thinking was 80%. I could be wrong about the money and the cool down because I really didn't think anything about its importance at the time so those numbers could be wrong. I saw another comment below mine that said they found one at a gas station, could just be that that's where they found the one they used, I don't remember the location of the one I that used but it was definitely a white dumpster.

@@SirBaltimorgue There is a drop dumpster behind the gas station just northwest of the marshlands.
Step 1. Equip your Insured weapon
Step 2. Trade it for another weapon in game making it contraband (dropping it doesnt work, must be traded for another gun)
Step 3. Exfil, now your insured slot is filling your contraband stash
Step 4. In the next game, fill up inventory with $$$$$ and $$$$ items
Step 5. Get to a drop dumpster (Gas Station NW of marshlands has one)
Step 6. Repeat steps 5 and 6 as many times as you want then Exfil
Step 7. It should cool your insurance slot down after one match of doing this
Repeat
Tips:
-Drop items onto the hood of your car when at full inventory. They will stay there for a few minutes.
-Quickly drive the car back to the dumpster and deposit them all into the dumpster before they despawn
-The trophy system upgrade can be placed on your car to absorb those random RPG's and whatnot, making it last much longer

Be careful the airport loot location is notorious for causing game crashes. I've spawned there 3 times now and without fail it crashes my game anytime I try to enter the building

another safer way to find a hostage: before entering the building, use the recon drone from outside and it will display an indicator that's different unlike enemy bots.
Some have windows you shoot inside to clear out first before opening the door to make it easier
And then carry hostage on car or run with it, with a pistol you can still shoot
Also, the half submerged ship nexto samwa village also has a big weapons cache along with some more boxes. Not the big ship thats crashed into the village. The half sunken one.

man i love dmz, i always try to pick up a second team immediately to make it 6 players, ive succeded 4 times already, its rare to get them to join you, but if you have shot at them sometimes proximity chat allows you to hear them and they start screaming friendly friendly so we make a deal and become a full squad, its golden to get that team to join you, because no one can take you out that way.
Are you on call of duty? I thought max was 3 players? I'm lucky if my own team can hear me let alone other teams!

Agree me and our team throw snipers on with silencer and we wiped out like 18 teams in 4 games
If you and a friend go into DMZ with insured weapons, both drop them and pick the other persons. When you extract you both have a decent contraband weapon and you get your insured weapon back after the cooldown. You can both build up a stash of 20 M13b's, for example.
For everyone trying tip 14, IT HAS BEEN PATCHED. TRYING TO RUN INTO THEM WILL ACTIVATE A DDOS AND DISABLE YOUR VEHICLE. Otherwise I think the rest are still really good tips.
Good thing I did it before the patch happened, also can a ddos be activated as long as you're inside the zone? Cuz there was once, we're rushing to an exfil point with a helo and when we passed through the weapon's case area and we got ddosed
@@cdcd1399 it happens when you get into a specific range of the chemist and/or the juggernaut. It mostly triggers within like. 1m of the bosses.

Dmz is lit! We always let friendly teams run away or squad up. It's been a fresh breath of air. Especially since I'm 3rd prestige, unlocked all guns, and finished the battle pass
There's alota good teams out there always appreciate running into groups like you

They should have a base that you can upgrade and customize with supplies etc....
I would also add a feature to keep money that you exfilled with and use them maybe on auction to buy weapons from others and so on.. There is so much potential in this game I hope this is not the last version that we see.

Could be very cool honestly, they could give us the option to create clan (could call them PMC to stay in the theme) and have a base that is accessible for everyone in your PMC, that would act as a lobby
for room 302 its better to go inside take the elevator and then up the lst flight of stairs then down into the room. less bots to see you and less likely a player will see you on the outside.
Also don't do the exfil camp stuff. That's for lower scummy people. Team up. I did the m13b hazard myself . It's not an equippable blueprint. You can save it and bring it in but not use it for gunsmith. Or in multiplayer. Unlike the RPK. I'm pretty sure this is glitched.

I just started playing and finally got to where I could exfil and some scumbag purposely got onto my chopper and killed me

when fighting the Juggernaut tear gas and thermite makes it easy to solo him in 1 clip 50-75 round mags
If you’re fully downed and not crawling around on the exfil, you won’t keep your items but you won’t lose your exfil streak.
The AI dropping plates with headshots makes so much sense but i never thought of it! Excellent tips!
The worst part about the hostage is how hard it is for solo
They spawn 50 wannabe juggernauts instantly😂
Good tip for the uav tower is that ai is marked with a open (unfilled) diamond and players are marked with a closed (filled) diamond on your map.
Also, using the short uav effect of the radios that soldiers drop only exposes other ai soldiers, no players.

Overall I’m a huge fan of DMZ. It’s a great mix of pvp and ai fights. Love to clear out strongholds with my friends. :^)

The tip about turning your insured weapon into a contraband weapon and getting a head start on the timer is less complex that you explained. I've done it multiple times now. If you simply drop your insured weapon for another weapon and then pick it back up to re-equip it, this works.
Crazy OP Tip:
With the Spotters scope, if you spot and ping an enemy player there is a red dot marking the enemy, ive had this dot stay on them for over 5 minutes of me chasing them! To do this wait for it to create the dot, then ping the dot like you would ping an enemy.
Line of sight doesnt matter, you can also track them through solid objects!
Unfortunately this is only for you and not for your team, so only you can see this red dot.

The turning your insured to a contraband weapon works of you drop it and pick it right back up, not even by stowing it
Noticed in games, they’re is players who like to camp the exfill locations. Had this happen so many times, but I love DMZ
This happened to my squad today but luckily it was only one guy by himself hiding in some bushes.
He didn't attack us until our helicopter arrived and landed he hopped on the chopper and tried to kill us when we tried to Exfil.
He killed my last squad mate and started reloading with the RAAL MG immediately after my teamate died I hopped into the chopper and popped him and took his RAAL MG, Level 2 possibly 3 Armor vest (I wasn't looking when I grabbed it.), and took my teamates M4.

Yeah alot of people are doing this lately in hopes of easily getting the m13b or just loot in general. The sneaky bastards have gotten me good a handful of times so far haha good luck
@@dford617 Geez this last match was intense on the Exfil.
We just finished looting a stronghold and decided to Exfil and when we got there 2 people came parachuting from out of no where and were very desperate for our loot.
They called in a cluster strike on the landing zone and kept shooting at our general location and throwing grenades or something.
They didn't down any of us and we exfilled without any casualties.
Got a Deagle from the stronghold.
As for hostage mission best bet is to try get in the top floor as they usually at the top so if you get to them quick you can disarm bomb and kill rest the bad boys especially the shield guys on stairs with a Molotov
There is another one you missed out. Depositing money into trash cans brings down your insurance timer when locked. Found out by accident when looking for gas cans at a petrol station. Not sure if they are located else where around the map but they are at the gas station near the round about whete the Chemist sometimes spawns
Extracting with your cash does the same thing.

@@xwF4T4L1TYwx I may, I haven't really paid much attention to it when the XP adds up. I was really just pointing out that if you want a guaranteed cool down reduction, use the "dead drop" because you may get camped out at the exfil by someone looking to ruin your game. If that happens, all you did was waste your time and you still have to wait for your insured weapons to cool down. Cash is easy to come by once you learn the high value loot locations and I've completed the "obtain 60k" challenge in a single match. It's all about managing your inventory and knowing what to grab.

Just FYI - Latest patch made it so you get EMP'ed by bosses, so running over is now a no-go.
I think they should switch the random load in with a drop in so you can actually plan strategic attacks on missions or elite fortresses with my keys.

when i jump into a fresh DMZ I bolt to the airport for a quick PVP fight and take thier loot they got from the airport, or just loot it myself, not as good since the nerf but still gets me looted up! Dmz became one of my favourite modes tbf
I've just started playing DMZ and the xfil trick is really helpful because my lobby is full of people who always run toward the enemy or an open area without thinking and died, with this trick I could exfil alone and leave my teammate.

There should be a unique skin, emblem, calling card, or dangly attachment thing that signifies if you killed the Chemist to get the Sig, or if you picked it up from another player.
About armor, you headshot a few enemies who had armor but they didnt drop any. So it isnt guaranteed?

Having Gas Cans in your inventory will mean you can refuel while being in the vehicle, on the move. Dead handy if you plan on staying late in the run and can't afford to detour to the gas stations 👊
The train isn't really risk free, the A.I's seem to shoot you through the walls of the train with pin point accuracy even though you know full well your hidden not to mention how bugged the train is, falling under the map, when you throw an ammo/armor box down it goes through the floor..random deaths as your climbing from car to car

Here's a few tips. Teams spawn in pairs next to areas and often can see each other at spawn if they know where to look, so don't stand still when you load in.
There is many places with high end money and loot you just need to look around and remember when you find them. Run armor piecing ammo to make the AI guys easier. You can sit in the LTV turret and kill the juggernaut without being targeted, he only attacks it if there is a driver.
I can't move until I load in so what do you mean "don't stand still when you load in" who's loading in and standing there for a couple minutes
@@jaryncovell2538 You can be killed loading in, but many people I've noticed look at their map and stuff once in without moving.

I killed the chemist with a vehicle not even trying. 2 teams tried to push me ,in offered them to join, they wouldn’t. Pretty fun game mode, better than plunder

#5 with team exvil, do you loose insured/contaband weapons or are those considered saved if a teammate exvilled and you are left?

Field upgrades are currently bugged. When you use the one you start with , then pick up another field upgrade. It will drop the one you started with because it thinks you still have it equipped.
Another thing is you can drop your lethal and tactical equipment and then use an ammo box field upgrade to give you 2 of them.
So what I like to do is start with stim, claymore, and ammo box. Then drop the stim and claymore at the start of the match and instantly have 3 of each.
Heads up guys. Pretty sure that in yesterday’s patch they made it no longer possible to run over the chemist. I’m not sure if that is 100% true. Glad I did it before this patch lol

For tip 2 there’s a 4th extraction that spawns once all the originals have been engulfed by the radiation. But it will probably spawn on the other side of the map so good luck getting to it.
I didn't realise this and quit a game then did another one and because I had m13 I tried getting to another exfil but that goy engulfed and it gave me 2 mins to get 1400 m away to a bonus one . Got there with radiation and a gas mask haha

Find radiation center.
Find exfil farthest from radiation(last to be engulfed)
Draw a line from radiation through 3rd exfill to the edge of the map. Voila exfill should be within 200 meters of where the line hits the edge of the map.
I just had it happen today where I had to leave the game for a bit and just left my dude sitting in a corner. Forgot, came back to the map closing in, and just started booking it to final exfil. I pulled up at exactly one second, hit F to get on, but accidentally got into a nearby car instead. I was so salty 😂 all I could do was give a GG's to the boys that made it 🫡🥲

Thats not broken I believe thats a nice lil loop hole to improve your stash which is smart cause you can use those load out guns ya pick up later and place them in your contraband. This does not seem to be broken but it does make good since for gamers

Airport is always a bless when starting spawning there, especially if u died in the last session, good way to get better plate carriers and med/ large backpacks

Another crazy loot spot if the two buildings with apartment keys like 102/103 appartment key there’s two of those tower buildings with the rooms at the top go there and the buildings are run down but crazy good loot Bottom left of the map and one in Al maz city

Can you play with the hazardous m13 in a different game mode? Like do you keep it in your regular loadout after you get it? I dropped mine to someone after I exiled with it and I can't see anything but the base model now.
In other words can you only play with the hazardous version in dmz?

So do i have to put any locked weapon i want to unlock in my backpack in order to exfill or will it unlock them if they are equipped?
If you carry them or in your backpack, the locked weapons will be unlocked
I also have died more than once from AI blasting me through Concrete when I didn't even know they were there

They need to let us store armor, bigger backpacks, masks, revives and etc. so we can use it for next deployments. Also, let us choose if we want to deploy with a bigger backpack or not…

@@patelabhi616 Nope. Everything in the backpack except weapons and keys will be gone. Also the bigger backpack's weapon slot can't be use for the next game, so if you want to extract with another gun you'll have to change the backpack
I agree on this but there needs to be a limit so people cannot just stack up on everything.
if you already have the M13 and want to help your friend get it, go into dmz drop the m13 let them pick it up and exfil with it they will automatically unlock it. no chemist BS.

HOSTAGE RESCUE!! Just throw snapshots and drill charges. Everyone’s dead inside you just walk in and complete the contract. Or do the same thing and then try to get in from the roof usually the hostage in on the second floor sometimes there’s a door to his room on the upstairs patio

That tip on unlocking the M13B is a relief.
on ps5 the airport drops my frames to like 5fps or less. major video lag and it happens to other friends of mine with ps5 too. pc and xbox don't seem to have this problem.
This is a good mode, but I can't play in a squad. All the other teammates do is run around the map with no consideration for tactics or threats in the area. I go solo, find what I'm look for and exfil.
Fun with squads but pR0 solo

My buddy and I have been playing. So far the big loot spots we’ve found is the airport and the cave system.
there is a spawn load in, where you spawn on a set of concrete steps under a train bridge. the train comes by after a minute. I believe there is only one spawn location ahead of you that can get on there first. i have yet to see anyone else be on the train that early though...
I count two ahead - one you need to run like forest

found the sawah one by accident earlier, falling through the roof :D We didnt see another team the entire run despite hanging around there for the whole time
Don’t know if this was stated as I haven’t finished the video but, if you stand in front of a locked door, i.e. the police academy, you can get your teammate to use a vehicle and crash you right through allowing you to unlock the door for everyone else

Bumped at this hotel rooms by accident, just wanted to get onto high ground, and then I've heard chest sounds, so I've jumped into the window. I've been wondering how many other spots like this on the map. Also, in some cases there is a stronghold inside this building and this windows are closed then.

Beware of terminal, it’s super buggy and if you go in that area your game could start freezing and lagging out and it gets you killed.. This happens to me on ps5 anyway, not sure how it is on pc or Xbox
