I miss the first 3-4 weeks of DMZ, where most of the players are friendly..
for the first three weeks i didnt even know you can squad up .i would be confused when players would down me and asked if i wanted to squad up , like what you already killed me đđ
@@pomonax we tried to explain all the players we met, how they can accept our invite. DMZ needs a training mission, like Plunder had.
@@ksoma14 yeah honestly shouldve been one of the first missions when it first came out . & i didnt understand plunder till we won first place with no kills
I still believe there are good people in the world. Lol. Iâm always down to team up
@@texactual after we killed (most of) the enemy team, we are ready to team up with them. But first, you have to show them who is the boss.. :D
Stod I love the amount of patience you use vs that 5 man team, I woulda liked to hear there coms trying to deal with you. Great work
Yes! That's exactly what you need in DMZ PvP fights I find
One thing to keep in mind when asking for friendly players, use your spotting wheel to request to join team if youâre close enough and the request will pop up into the center of their screen. If you only ask using prox chat and donât get a response, itâs either no mic (rarely) or theyâre xbox or psn players in a party chat without a push to talk option and no ability to hear the prox chat without pausing to change their chat - leaving themselves incredibly vulnerable for several seconds. So if youâre in prox chat range, also request to join and keep spamming it. Itâs not a guarantee to join by any means, but it does increase your chances. Food for thought.
I've experienced about 70% of players not using mic lately. I will often have 2 teammates not on open mic. Drives me friggin crazy.
I play solo psn I can confirm this
This is what we do, we're on xbox party chat as in game chat is just not as good and often fucks up for one guy, we spam invites and requests when in range,
PS5 Player here, we're typically in our own party chat so we send invites to join teams. We can't hear prox chat for the most part.
â@@cwb124Even when guys use mics they don't actually use it. I'll be doing call outs and trying to talk to guys but they just don't respond or suddenly it clicks five minutes later and they are like, "Oh, yeah! I do want that! Hold on! My bad! I didn't hear you at first!" Or some shit and I'm like, "Maybe if you weren't playing music or literally playing your game inside a trash can next to a busy New York city highway, you might could hear me?" They use mics just to hot mic games or play music. Shit is annoying. It's so weird for me too because I get guys telling me my mic is perfect and we have actual conversations but next game people with mics go whole games ignoring me and pretending like they can't hear me. I hate when I'm trying to give someone the loot they need and they literally won't pick it up. Even when I'm tagging and pinging it with the ping button for the map, right at their bloody feet, they are oblivious to it. I know you can't mute mics either so wtf are they doing? Tuning it all out?
A lot of us soloâs donât want to go against other people. We/I will but would rather team up or just continue doing our own thing.

@@el.aye.bee.4477 Yes i agree that people shouldn't be on a team, if they don't want to be a team player.
Once you've been screwed enough the urge to give it back is almost impossible to resist
I never ever went on prox chat in s1 cos I was scared of giving away my squads tactics but this season I've had tons of amazing interactions from going on prox chat and asking to team. Gotten myself killed just as many times doing that too. A lot of people clearly have prox chat turned off and don't even hear you asking to extract together or whatever, but I've had squads notice I'm solo when I haven't noticed them, not shoot at me, and then they invite me and we roll together.
But on Ashika I've also gone around hunting people down and trying to make 6 stacks for that purpose. That's part of the joy of DMZ, there are no rules with any of that, and you never know how people are going to act or respond. It's one of my favourite things about it.
Precisely why all this "solo only" or "remove assimilation" shit you see online would ruin the entire concept of the mode.
@@kingpurest6279 yep, it's all part of it! I think adding pleas for solos would be a great move though.
Yeah that's the biggest thing the consolers are limited in what they can hear sometimes if they are on another voice program.
I never get people to exfil with me ams itâs always a fight that sometimes gets all of us killed
damm i seen a solo walk up to our ltv and he sent a request to join our squad but my gunner mowed him downđ€Šââïž
I hate the toxicity that is in dmz suddenly. everyone will shoot you then taunt you. I just want to be friendly
Yeah all the Warzone players realized they can just play DMZ and itâs easier to kill people just doing missions, itâs crazy how that started happening literally over night
Suddenly? Were you previously unfamiliar with the COD player base? If it can devolve to a toxic shit show, it will with these people, very predictable. Whatever asshole came up with this whole "assimilation" (i.e. make teaming a fucking feature) feature was certainly unfamiliar with them.
What's worse is there's no way to plead for help if you're playing solo.
I was at a exfill didn't want to fight for final and I didn't shoot but the ai did and they kill me and saying I was trash and why I shoot when they said why I didn't accept there invite I never got one and I didn't shoot
its not toxicity to just kill operators, its a shooter game.
Love this! Exactly how I play with my friends only 2 ways I shoot at players, for missions or if they shoot first, but I always give them the option to join or go separate ways
Same Iâll never shoot first and I alway send out Multiple invite other players, but if you donât except itâs fair game
I like to put them down first. People seem much more willing to be civil that way. Dunno why.
This in my mind is what DMZ is about!! Only way to play IMO!! đđŒ
The first engagement it seemed like the other operators wanted to team up, but Stodeh & Co did not respond at all to those requests. I wouldâve started shooting at that point as well figuring they were getting ready to engage.

My holes are sore from the AI
A lot more people shooting on sight and far less talking at all until you kill them. We've run into this a lot lately.
We've had dozens of encounters with no prox talkers until you down or kill them and suddenly their mics work and they want to be friends, we've simply moved to "kill it if it moves."
People rarely join... So i turned into one of these who shot before they talk.
Simply because i prefer to be the shooter then the one who lays on the ground.
...if their 3rd act passive after i killed already 2, then they can still join đ
Had this in my run solo of Al-Mazrah. Full killed me and one of they said, âOh⊠I feel badâ thatâs fucking BS imo. Why would you feel bad if you full killed someone without question? The guy apologized too late.
@@FYou-uf7td Same here. Rather down u and u plea for help/I invite than me getting downed first đ
I find most times when I spawn with random players that they nearly always want to go pvp so I'm left with doing missions solo which leaves me dealing with players hunting me while I'm trying to get missions done and when I try to talk most either have proxy turned off or just throw insults my way. Though these videos have been a godsend for me when I solo.
Main issue is the lack of incentives to actually do the missions besides being a Completionist or for the extra slots
Rewards for the higher tier missions especially are super lackluster for something that takes so much effort to get
I hate it when you have that one random team mate that runs off and gets downed on the other side of the map and expects you to come res them. all just for him to run off again or leave the match right before you get up him lol
@@z-uwu4687 The extra slots are HUGE though.
There was almost a complete 180 in terms of players being friendly until Monday. The start of the season, people were in prox chat, talking to each other and lots of people joining squads. Then it's like a switch flipped and nearly everybody I've come across has been hostile.
Itâs absolute torture in comparison to last season. All the early game missions feel more complex and take some level of rng to complete. Loot may be easier to come across but that just makes the entire map turn into a scrim lobby where you canât get anything done :(

Iâve been living by what I call the golden rule of DMZ. âShoot first, team up later.â After all the people shouting âfriendly friendlyâ who are just baiting started to happen, I now shoot first every time. Iâll happy let people assimilate when they plea, or if weâre in a fight and they ask. But I just donât trust anyone anymore. However if people came at me like Stod and Westie did at the start of this, no line of sight calling wanna team up, I would accept rather than fight.
Iâm with you my teams come out of fire fights. A lot of us soloâs donât want to go against other people. We will but would rather team up or just continue doing our own thing.
That is a game ender for solo players. There is no plea function for solos. Itâs an automatic team wipe. Super lame approach to playing.
@@ero1220 I play solo often, and have also been in 3 man squads where we played poorly and were wiped by a solo ( who didn't want to join us). There's all sides to the argument. But I do think the devs need to add plea for solo. I've died many times as a solo calling to join and then their 3rd teammate who's not onboard with me joining guns me down while my guard is down while I'm interacting with their TMs trying to join. I've died more ways like this, than I have been able to join up.
When I play solo I avoid everyone, because I'm nearly always killed instantly, even when hiding and saying 'hey guys can I squad up'. I just don't trust anyone, because more and more people are coming from warzone whose main objective is kill.
When your solo you can't plea. That's why I try to be friendly. Hardly ever works
Went from feral AI to feral players now.
How it should be
But damn people are aggressive now. I think itâs for many reasons , one being the meta game isnât good enough so people are getting their kicks from PvP. I also think itâs because ashika island has made it much easier to regain, so losing your stuff really has minimal consequences. Jump into ashika with a stronghold key card and off you go.
DMZ has 3 kinds of people
The guys who try to make friends.
The paranoid guys or people with trust issues.
And the people who shoot at any movement.
I'm actually the three of them lmao
Shoot first, ask later
I'm the three to be honest and I mostly die because of the 1st ... I won't shoot and want to be friend and boom, I'm down
If I come face to face with a player I will shoot but If I see them from far I leave them alone. will ask if they want to join if they are close by. Some people just go DMZ for hunting players, which I think sucks
Still wish the system worked for solo. At least give people a 1 chance to ask for join instead of insta squad eliminating. Make it like a 1 min timer if you're solo or squad wiped.
Had a friendly interaction on Ashika yesterday, our trio had looted the intel in the Underground Waterway and as we were clearing out other AI another Trio came down. They didn't know where it was (was looking in the dead drop instead of the container) and as we were watching one of my team's sniper glints gave us away. We downed two, they downed us, then we called a cease-fire an offered to team up and do the mission together.
We then had a team of six, went and got the weapon case and exfilled. Was nice to work together and not insta-murder everyone. I'm happy to be peaceful but if they start to shoot then it's weapons hot. I'll aways try and get people up if they ask for help, but sometimes they disconnect before I get to them :(
I had an interaction where I joined an enemy team and then I killed both of my previous teammates by assasinatiom

Season 1 DMZ was really good, the AI was too annoying but it didnt stop me from playing. Season 2 started, I saw no change to the AI, still too OP for solo, still respawn out of nowhere, still shoots through walls. So I play just ONE game and I leave it there. Im having more fun playing Resurgence...and that comes from a player that didnt play Rebirth on WZ1 a lot. Im a Plunder player, I like to level up stuf and things like that, just chill. I dont know if Im playing DMZ again, its not solo friendly. I was hoping they fix that on S2, but they didnt. Waiting for Plunder on S3 now, while I play Resurgence without pressure. Im even getting some wins LOL.
Can't wait for plunder
As a solo player I've been killed like 5 times by a 3 man teams that don't want to team up while im carrying the weapons case . I've also beamed a couple of teams from the back with the m13b and im not regretting it . There is nothing more frustrating than regaining for 16 mins and soloing the entire castle to just get beamed by a 3 man team as soon as you leave
I think you should only solo if you have the skill to confidently solo a squad
I'm not sure what you expect to happen trying to solo the weapons case. It's basically a most wanted contract
i was about to say what the comments above me said, i just recommend you going solo Q if you're trying to get the weapons case, because dropping solo is a death sentence, especially more when going for a weapon case
You shouldn't play solo if your not good enough to
@@Ccubed92 I'd like to see you solo a 3 man team while you are carrying the case
Friend and me have a rule, shoot 1st ask questions later. We gave up on being friendly after multiple deaths where people just want us dead even those who said friendly, we dont accept people pleading for help after the fact or any crying in chat that they are on a quest.
So far in season two we have met only two guys who actually didnt shoot at us while saying friendly.
People rather miss the last extract than to join up
Had a game last night that 1000% felt like week 1 of DMZ. Easy squad up and we let a small group go as we drove past on our way to exfile. It was great!
That's something my duo mate and I noticed in dmz but it depends so much on the time, we basically search people and ask if they want to help us with the third weapon slot quest with the story Mission unfortunately I did not work out yet probably the best case you can have is if the enemy team has the same quest so you can do it together.
I have to say, maybe the reason some people donât squad up with you, is that they donât know how.
Also invitations you need to be closer than prox chat, just because you pick up prox chat does not mean they are getting the invites.
They were in a squad of 5 so they must know.
That said, the names were not English, so it's likely they don't even understand what they're saying lol
Iâm really enjoying the narrative. BUT mostly Iâm enjoying watching a Stod having FUN. A happy Stod makes me happy.
Haha this video was so fun too watch thanks guys. Happy end with alot of gifts. Stodeh thought take my revive pistol other guy thought take all my killstreaks đ€Ł
That guy was probably doing the mission where you need to exfil with 6-7 killstreaks.
1:32 lmao the jump into the water
Itâs been a weekend of pain. Earlier a team sat on my team mateâs body for almost 8 minutes then pretended to exfil in order to come back for us at another exfil. It ended up being a 3rd party cluster fight and no one got out. This mindless pvp is making DMZ pointless.
Earlier today a friend and I were duoing and a guy came into the street below us yelling "friendly, friendly!" And once we hopped down to talk to him he was like "RUN RUN! My teammate doesn't speak English and keeps killing everyone!" As soon as he got the words outta his mouth the other one starts lighting us up. We shoot and kill him since its a 2v1 and the first guy just watched, we added him to the group, and then we all finished some missions lol. It was a weird encounter. Most people have been KOS but when the people talk and interact it makes some fun interactions.
Especially on Askika Island. We were on there doing a mission and they said we are friendly and waited to get in position and then teamed up with another group and downed us because they wanted the item, we were trying to put in a container to get credit for a mission.
I was at the smuggling tunnels and got a team mate wants to join, turned around and a guy was just there but jumping up and down. I didnât realise at first but didnât shoot, then figured out how to accept it and then we did the tunnels with tactical cams. Saved me loads of time and was good fun
Came here to say "GOOD!". It's CoD is a PvP game first and foremost where you can optionally be cooperative in DMZ.. The amount of times we'll run into guys .. during a HUNT contract and the other team goes "friendly friendly" and then proceed to get properly abusive in chat because we didn't instantly become besties is hilarious to me. The sheer comedy of "I'm friendly" followed 2ms later by the so called friendlies screaming "f yr momma" is honestly the source of endless entertainment
I'm still giving everyone a chance to not shoot, a lot do, but am still getting some friendly interactions. The amount of time we give for a friendly response is definitely a lot shorter now, and we put a number of strategies in play to mitigate a false a response.
Itâs funny as now Iâm sceptical of people asking to be revived as a trap. Shoot or be shot is starting to become the standard now :(
@@dowele2431 if I'm solo (which is quite often as I refuse to squad fill) and I'm fairly confident I've got the drop on a squad, I'll kill them but leave 1 in a downed state, then request invite to squad, leaving them no choice. Won't always stay with them, but at least I then have the opportunity to plead as long as they're still in the game. Bit like collecting a 1up

Same. I don't generally accept pleads for help anymore either, generally end up getting shafted. I'll avoid players where possible, offer joins squads if I'm solo, but otherwise its shoot to kill, loot + leave. I hate that it's become that way, but hey ho.

I was Solo last night in al mazrah and a team let me join them (3 of) on the bridge in the city for an extract, great bunch!
We came across a team near Sattiq.... after an initial exchange and 1/2 dead on each side we opened a discussion.... agreed to go on our on way ...(they were doing the mission where you have to kill the chemist with the gun from the drop) ..later on we came across a team and knocked some, they said they were just completing the chemist quest...so we let them go. On the other hand, whilst doing Caved In quest...player above us, we started a convo ..said we were happy to team up to get him the quest... he said "he'd ask his team mates"... what he meant was, keep us there till they could surround us and go for the kill.. just felt cheap.
Even when you're screaming friendly into your mic....guns blazing.
I think a big issue with the fact people donât respond is that game chat doesnât work if youâre on console and in a team with friends. I have this issue and unfortunately as much as I try and avoid pvp, I feel that due to the fact me or my teammate cannot hear Game chat Teams assume we are not listening and just wanting a shootout.

Party coms. We donât usually play with open comsâŠso naturally you need to engage if you canât hear prox coms.
Found this very evident towards the end of season 1 and in to 2 - all the higher level missions seemed to be PVP requirements which just ruined the fun interactions you could have with other players. Then the exfil campers started appearing.
Theyâve got warzone for PVP, DMZ was such a good opportunity for positive interactions with other players but infinity ward just wants to create a hostile player base rather than teaming up or letting soloâs do their thing.
I used to solo to complete missions but it now forces you to attack other players on sighting as if you donât, they just murder you.
I'm finding this to be the case more and more. Missions aside that require a player kill for completion, so many teams will and do PVP for the hell of it. Tried many times to request join, or make it clear I'm not gonna engage and still get hunted or gunned down, even when solo by 3/4 man teams. AI only map would be nice as an option. đ€ Great video content as always Stodeh đ
How did that last guy of the 5 man get pulled out of the ex-fil by his team? Is it because the team leader got irritated and quit or something?
I've been straight up just PvPing in DMZ for over a month. If you're within 700m, you're getting sniped at.
Friday-everyone buddies
Saturday-EVERYONE CRYING FRIENDLY THEN SHOOTING ME.
*From now on I down first ask questions later. Trust noone.*
a lot of my encounters have been fun, people are very nice, really enjoying it as im terrible at pvp
What build is that assault Rifle?
I played lots of the old cods.... this is definitely me lol
I still dont shoot on sight, but constantly get attacked by thirsty players
