    Always wanted one as my 2 boys were growing up. I made do with regular pans as I couldn’t justify several hundred dollars for one piece of cookware when living paycheck to paycheck. Now that I’m older and can afford to, I still haven’t justified it in my penny miser head. For my birthday this year, my sons gave me one and at Christmas they gave me the cookbook....i cried and then promptly made Beef Bourguignon without hesitating. 😍🤣 My advise? They are amazing....don’t wait, save and scrimp, cut coupons...do whatever it takes,...they are so worth it,

    I have been cooking for more than 15 years, mostly in stainless steel and non-stick/ceramic. I always wanted a Le Creuset but never justified the price. Recently, Le Creuset was on sale in my Local Williams Sonoma Store and I bought both the 5.5 & 7.25 qt pieces together for $670 instead of $970! Yesterday tried my first recipe in the 5.5 qt I made chicken with mushrooms in a creamy sauce. Had some issues first with adjusting the heat because I use an induction burner, but it was an amazing experience and the final result was phenomenal. I also made the most beautiful loaf of bread I ever made with it today! I now regret that I didn’t buy a Le Creuset piece all this time, definitely worth every penny.. the quality and the design are just unmatchable anywhere else ❤️ So excited to try more recipes with it 👏🤩

    • @paulcantshutup
      @paulcantshutup Před 9 měsíci

      The trick with these things is to use less heat, not more, because they hold it so damn well. I usually cook with stainless steel (restaurant days taught me there was none better for fast work!), but these require a slower, gentler touch. Once you get used to it, though, there really is no going back.

    • @unsq8i
      @unsq8i Před 9 měsíci

      @@paulcantshutup Yes agree! But first you must heat it well because it takes longer to heat up than any other cookware I used before. I’m still enjoying them so much, learning new things and experimenting with new recipes. Everything works in them beautifully! I display them proudly in my kitchen, they are now my trusted workhorses 👏

    I have 2 complete sets one in blue and one red. From the 2 size pots, to frying pans and oval dutch oven 2 sizes. I bought each set at the same estate auction before i left Europe 10 years ago. They where still in the box. I paid the equal to 175 dollars each set. I didn’t know what was Le Creuset, was looking for a square swedish Husqvarna like the one i still have from Sweden when i married there. Here in the USA I started using my pot for everything until i damaged one and found out had life warranty. I send it somewhere here to the rep and they send me another back. When i found what they really were i stopped using them ! I just use one to bake my bread like grandmom did. I will leave them to my boys ! They mean a lot to me as my grandmom had one in Africa which she had brought from Europe in one of her trips home. But i don’t think she knew the value, she was after quality and she got it! They are priceless to me now. They are part of my new home in my beautiful new homeland. I will buy the little cocote shaped like hearts when i can afford them. Saw them in a magazine! These pots brought me luck ! Its worth the sacrifice of the price. I hope this @#$& Covid goes away so we all can start to work again. Blessings to all of you and stay safe, please. Each and everyone of you are precious !

    If one's oven goes out, like mine did recently, the Dutch Oven on a stove top can serve as somewhat of a substitute. Just this past week I did a lamb shank w/carrots, mushrooms, and a couple garlic cloves that turned out quite well. Braised both sides of the shank first, then added some packaged beef gravy and beef bone broth, threw in the carrots and garlic (and later the mushrooms around half way thru), for around 50 minutes altogether on light-to-moderate burner heat (electric stovetop). Added additional broth and stirred broth/gravy mix along the way. Shank was thoroughly cooked and tender, although next time I will also do the carrots for half the time, they were a bit overdone, but mushrooms and garlic were fine. Some learning-adjustment, depending on the ingredients being prepared, is of course involved, as with any cooking process.

I use them just about every day, its best for its browning properties and even heat, heat retention. I made a boston butt pork roast today in the large one, I've also made chili, beef stew, coq au vin, etc, its also great for rice dishes, which I usually start on the stove and finish in the oven....particularly good for persian rice, comes out perfect. I do not own a rice cooker or crockpot, no need, the dutch oven does it all.

      Hi! We have a cleaning product that works great for stains on cast iron: www.lecreuset.com/cast-iron-cookware-cleaner-1/ECC251.html. A paste of baking soda and water (or a product like Bar Keeper's Friend) can also assist in removing the occasional tough stain - let sit for a few hours or overnight, then wash it off. Finally, for interior stains try lightly simmering baking soda and water, then washing again with regular dish soap. Make sure to scrub with the textured side of a regular sponge, and avoid using steel wool, metal tools, or anything too abrasive. Please visit our website for more info: www.lecreuset.com/care-and-use.html. Thank you!

    Any advice on sticking?

    • @lecreusetUS
      @lecreusetUS  Před 2 lety

      Hi! We can definitely give you some tips to help with this. First, try lowering the heat, heating the pan slowly, and allowing it to heat up a little longer - you'll typically only need medium or medium/low heat when cooking with cast iron. Make sure you're using enough oil/ butter to cover the pan, and heat until the oil is shimmering before adding food. It also helps to pat meats and vegetables dry before placing them in the pan, and take food out of the refrigerator 5 minutes before cooking so it can come up closer to room temperature. Finally, be patient! Allow the food to develop a good sear and release naturally before flipping it. You should be able to see the edges start to slightly lift off the pan on their own before you try to move it. Please visit our website for more info: www.lecreuset.com/blog/how-to-cook-with-enameled-cast-iron.html and www.lecreuset.com/blog/cooking-class-indoor-grilling.html. Thanks!
