    Hey.
    I am new to the hobby currently have a 10 gal tank with an on the back filter and a bubbler and a water heater set to 78 degrees. ( I have fake plants at the moment) Put the water in yesterday morning and let it get up to temp woke up today to find the water is a tad cloudy. I used spring water. I have the FritzZyme 7 and I’m going to use it to start a cycle will the cloudiness affect anything or will It be fine? Also looked into the Fritz Aquatics Complete is that a good product to use in between water changes? I read up I should change my water every week and take about 10 to 15% out every time is this correct?
    Looking forward to your response thank!

      damn. brand new tank & already cloudy? let it run for a day more or two & hopefully it'll clear up after the filtration cycles a good bit. or maybe if you didn't clean your substrate good enough. I use API quick start / API stress coat & LeafZone without any cloud after dosing. def recommend real plants over fake. esp to help with the tank cycle. hopefully you have good water movement/surface agitation. I have hidden filtration with a power head up top while the return or mechanical filtration taps toward the bottom so it creates a nice circular type current throughout the entire tank.. cant stand cloud.. hopefully it clears soon

      Well there's lots of factors that play into a scenario like yours. But my first guess would be that your having a bacteria bloom which is common in a new tank. I would basically just let it be, don't change the water and just follow the directions on the fritz bottle

      As to the water change it completely depends on what fish your keeping, how many fish you have and how much you feed. The more fish the more water you change. I would recommend 20%-25% again depending on fish but 20-25 is a good place to start once a week. Adding live plants like hornwort and floating plants will greatly reduce the need for water changes because the plants will absorb nitrates and produce oxygen in return. Hope this helps!

      Late response but my tank took about four days to cycle completely, I added two snails and some Java moss from another tank to boost it initially but it didn’t help so I transferred a lava rock and about 5 ml of water from another tank into the hang on filter (turned off for two hours) and then the cloudiness disappeared on the end of the fifth day

    Hi,I was just wondering if I can use this as well as tnc lite together?

    • @everythingaquarium
      @everythingaquarium  Před 11 měsíci

      I don't know much about that product. But If I were you I'd probably just stick with one or the other. Again I not familiar with it, so maybe try and look into it some more! Thanks for the question though!

      Depends on the tank. But usually exactly what the bottle says

      @Everything Aquarium mine is 35g so how much in ml ??

    • @everythingaquarium
      @everythingaquarium  Před rokem +1

      @leesutton1845 Add 5 ml per 10 gallons of aquarium water. So for 35 gallons, 17.5 ml is the correct dossage.

    Never buy API Leaf zone, it killed all my Guppies, after adding 5ml of api leaf zone (followed as per instructions). Instead use root tab.
