My Dad had to carry the Model 10 all year. He started to carry a PPK/S as a backup. My whole career, we were only issued DAO autos.

S&W debuted and presented the Chiefs Special first at a Police convention in 1950 and asked for input on different things. One of those things was the name. Thats were Chiefs Special came from. It carried that name for several years before being renamed the Model 36. The Model 36 was made 1950 - 1988. In 1989 the "Ladysmith" was debuted as Model 36 variant. Certain aspects of the original J frame and Model 36 still lives on to this day in different S&W models. The Chiefs Special was a and still is a legendary pistol. Happy to say my everyday carry is a nickle plated 1982 Model 36 (no-dash) still with original wood grips. Flawless action and easy to conceal.

You might be interested in Darryl Bolke.
There are a few videos with him on snubbies and small guns in general out there.
Former cop and gunsite and i think also rangemaster graduate among other things. "Former training junkie". Supposedly there were years where he shot 50.000 rounds of 45 ACP.
Huge amount of knowledge and considers himself as some kind of amateur gun history historian.
You can find him on the Primary and Secondary Modcast and Lee Weems Podcast.
    Stay safe.

Nice Job. Do you belong to some kind of revolver club? I’m guessing it’s in Jersey. Where, if I may ask?
