Nice video! The Pack-a-Punch was definitely powerful in WaW and BO1.
Also, if I'm being honest, I prefer the OG Zombies story of Waw and BO1 where it was just a group of Nazi scientist using 115 to make wonder weapons and zombies to win WW2 until Fluffy the Hellhound attacked Maxis and Sam and Rictofen betrayrd them and Sam got control of the zombies. No Primis dimension characters, no Apothicons, no Dr. Monty, no gobblegums, etc.
I really love both storylines. Ultimis and Primis. But you’re right, the original was much more “grounded” and scarier for sure

The og pack a punch machine is the most nostalgic and I think best looking design makes me wanna re download bo1 to play it just by seeing the machine

I love Cold War's pap system (for round based). It give me something to work towards for a while instead of a 1 and done upgrade. Only thing I'd change is leaving out the hand holding to get to PaP. I like the mystery :)
Yeah, the Cold War PaP is okay I guess. The main things I dislike (beside the cost, because you’re right, it’s something to work toward), is the hand-holding to get to PaP, and the interface. The action of watching the gun go in and come back out with a random AAT is just so nice

you can get a proper double PaP in IW. (more ammo more damage some akimbos ect.) you get it by doing the maps easter egg and putting some fuses into the projector. although you do have to do it everytime unless you have unlocked directors cut (reward for doing all the easter eggs in the game)

I know it's a lot of work to do these videos, and fantastic job on them. If you are interested in continuing this Video Essay playlist then I think many people including myself would be extremely interested in a video about other powers within the game such as the perk machines. There have been a lot of changes with these machines and as a newer player, I don't really understand the changes that were implemented over the years or the times at which each perk was added.
Keep up the excellent content and can't wait to see the next video, whatever it may cover.

The exo zombies pap makes sense though, I never played it, players get up to 100000 points anyways when doing highround
True, but you’ll need a decently powerful weapon to get to those high rounds. So you’ll probably end up blowing 25k points just to start reaching high rounds, and STILL not have as powerful of a weapon as you’d like.

But yeah, I always just thought it makes sense to ask viewers what they want to see, and make content based off of their recommendations. Make content they want to watch. 2+2=4 right? lol
For Infinite Warfare, there is a double PAP mechanic in every map. In spaceland you need to complete the maps main quest and insert the alien fuses into the projector. In every other map the alien fuses can be acquired through a small and easy to do task, in Rave in the Redwoods for example, just interacting with the monitor in spawn.
Double PAP costs 10k, and further increases damage and ammo reserves.
PAP on infinite warfare is special because there are a handful of guns that change how they function drastically (and this is further exemplified when you incorporate weapon variants into the mix). The starting pistol becomes baby's breath when single paped, a single grenade shooting pistol that deals self splash damage, whereas when double packed it becomes Fire and Brimstone, two pistols that shoot grenades, removes all self splash damage, increases movement speed and drastically increases ammo in reserves and magazines.
There is an AAT adjacent system in IW actually in the form of the perk Change Chews in the maps Attack of the Radioactive Thing and Beast from Beyond. With the perk bought, there's a chance that an effect shown to you by the color of the outline of the perk icon, will proc when you kill a zombie with a headshot. There's the ice effect, which causes the zombie killed to explode and freeze all surrounding zombies akin to the cryo grenades from Spaceland, the fire effect which erupts the zombie killed into flames damaging surrounding zombies, there's the blast effect which is just literally thunder wall, and the electric effect which causes the zombie killed to shoot out lightning when killed, stunning and damaging surrounding zombies.
Completing every maps easter egg unlocks Directors Cut mode, which along with a cavalcade of other benefits, spawns you into the map with the alien fuses already inside the PAP machine, making the fuse unlock quest obsolete, also unlocking double pap on spaceland from the get-go.

As others have said, completing the Easter egg unlocks the 2nd pack a punch for IW for everyone in your future games. So sometimes even as a newer player you're able to get the 2nd upgrade tier which was pretty cool as someone who has not done the Easter egg.
You can also get alternate weapon damage types through a small quest chain starting at pack - though its not super intuitive, but once you see a player do it or find it online it's easily and quickly doable within a handful of rounds. The only problem is there's only 4 upgrades and only 1 of each. If a player dies and is unable to re-buy thier upgraded ammo gun within time it is gone for good. The ammo system does blend nicely into the different Ray gun and wonder weapon quests too, so you can pretty easily jump up tiers of damage and complexity as you want to

Honestly, I’m a huge fan of the Cold War PaP. Sure I’d love the animation and a little more pizzazz, but it’s functionally great for gameplay/high-rounds.

I still Blau black ops 2 zombies am currently on mob of the dead. When do u max up the gun some guns you can pack a punch more times is it when you start paying 2000 to upgrade ? Is that when the gun is as strong as it can be?? Good vid mate 👍
Fun fact: the Pack A Punch was SUPPOSED debut on Shi No Numa and if you check the files in WaW, the PaP weapons are there and useable via console commands (however using the weapons usually results in instant death of the player character).
It was moved back to Der Reise because it wasn't fully finished by the time the Shi No Numa was released.

I remember the video being out sometime after the community finished ths Origins EE... Could be older than that though.

No no, don’t get me wrong. I love the PaP location. I just wanted to acknowledge that it’s not easy to get to. Casual players would typically never be able to get to it themselves, which is unfortunate for casual players. “Skill issue” or not, MotD is not an easy map

I’ll also respectfully disagree. I don’t dislike the game, in fact rather the opposite. The gameplay mechanics are some of the best in the entire series. But the maps are so boring. But that’s what opinions are for. To each their own. Here’s to COD 2024 🍻

you can double pap in IW, for example, you have to complete the EE in Zombies in Spaceland to upgrade pap machine so you can double pack a punch

IW does have double PaP. You just have to do a side quest on each map to get it (unless you have directors cut). I think Spaceland is the only map where it’s the main quest you have to do for it

I remember beating WAW and playing nact for the first time and buying the scooped kar, realizing it was bait and sucked. Then when they changed the characters in origins I was skeptical but then loving the story even more after a couple more maps. Man miss the old days of staying up late with the homies across America running high rounds.
