That was a really cool reveal at the end. This week has been awesome in terms of new releases. A new release from the incredible melodic/folk death metal band Verikalpa came out Friday along with a release I was surprised to see in the band Blazing Eternity releasing their first album since 2003. I'm also excited to check out A Mortal Bind by My Dying Bride. Ghost of Orion didn't really do it for me, but A Mortal Bind's singles sound very promising.
Man I swear that the releases just keep coming currently! This weekend is mental, Full of Hell, Inter Arma, Ou and Deicide - all fairly decent records. Even Deicide! I wasn't all that blown away by A Mortal Binding I'll be honest - I really enjoyed Ghost of Orion but this one not so much - interesting the way these things go eh haha!
For me, it's hard to top "Court of the Matriarch" or "Mleccha" from EÆ. That said, beginning to end, this album is much more of a total effort that has so much density and intricacy. Repeated listens are needed to catch everything and each spin is rewarding. What a phenomenal record. Their best output today as a whole even if there are some moments from EÆ I like just a tad more.
Yeah that's the thing. I think overall some of the songs on Etemen really do stand the test of time and are really great but cohesively as a record, I think that Voidkind is ahead of that. Feels like Dvne are really starting to find their feet as a band too. Exciting times!
Its so good
Simply the best!
I never doubted them, another great album. Progressive metal loveliness.
Couldn't agree more my friend! Excellent stuff and I think that they might have overall topped Etemen - absolutely great record.
