- Yemen Houthi rebels fired an anti-ship cruise missile toward an American destroyer in the Red Sea. The attack further escalates tensions gripping the Red Sea after American-led strikes on the rebels. The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations, said Monday's attack happened about 110 miles southeast of Aden. The Iranian-backed Houthi militant say they are going to make the Red Sea 'into the graveyard of Americans.'

The initial US-British strike was actually very restrained and selective. It was meant to give the Houthi some indication of our capabilities. I think this was a miscalculation on our part. Militants are rarely discouraged by such displays. The Houthi will inevitably strike again and the next Allied counter will by design be much less restrained and targeted at significant degradation of their capabilities.
