Yes it runs galaga very well, mame 2000 is were the 80s games get better performance but games like mortal kombat, street fighter 2, nbajam run very slow

Mame2000, mame2003, mame2003 plus, just make sure the rom is from 37b5 list to play it on mame2000 and for mame2003 and mame2003 plus uses roms from mame 0.78
