Interesting, I thought the Hegel H120 was the amplifier to beat at that price point. I have the 9000CDT and can verify it is an excellent detailed CD transport and also very ergonomically pleasant to use.
Hi. Thanks for your detailed and sober review. I have a pair of 603 S2 AE, which in another review you said a Hegel (95 or 120) would make sing. Would they sing better or worse with the 9000a? Does the pairing make sense as far as low impedance is concerned?

Так получилось , что имею два , примерно равные интегральника: Hegel h95 и мне прислали в подарок audiolab 9000а, вопрос в следующем : можно ли их как-то использовать совместно , вроде биампинг и что для этого требуется , и можно ли подключать к ним саб , как раз svs 1000pro через pre out ? Работает сейчас сабик через высокоуровневое подключение .
if u are able... pls compare case top temp of 9000a vs 6000a identical conditions,,, we tested with no input,,, vol down to -78.... on for 1 hour,,, temp diff roughly 10c,,, do u see this

The Lintons sound very good with a lot of amplifiers, however the 9000a is a particularly good match! The question is how will it sound on the new Dovedales 😄
I enjoyed this review of the 9000a, very thorough. I currently have the 6000a and 6000 cdt paired with the Wharfedale Lintons. I was wondering if the 9000a would pair with the Lintons? You actually had them showing next to the EVO 4.4's in this youtube, did you listen to them? Another question, if I bought the 9000a would would I be able to keep my 6000 cdt and plug into the 9000a? I think I could since it is digital only, but would you recommend that? Thanks! Tom
Sorry for the late reply Thomas, this amp works great with the Lintons, if you make the jump expect stronger and more controlled bass extension and a little more precision in your imaging.
Thanks Ben vert much for the info, I am now the glad owner of of the 9000a and 9000cdt and am really enjoying them, and yes, they sound good with the Lintons in my living room. I have kept my 6000 a and cdt and have them in my office. This is a win win situation as my living room is larger than my office. In my office, my speakers are an old pair of EPOS M-16's that I bought 15 years ago! Both rooms are supported with a sub-woofers. Cheers, I enjoy your utubes, Tom.
Great question, technically the the H190 is the next class up in amplifiers and in most pairings will be a better amplifier, however, in this case the race is a lot closer, the 9000a and EVO4.4 has great synergy and I’m not sure it’s worth spending the extra if you are pairing with the EVO4.4’s

It will come down to the speakers your pairing, the H120 is an outstanding amplifier as is the 9000a.

i compared the DAC in the Hegal. to the DAC in the Rega Elex 4 and ended up with the Rega.

Did the addition of the Chord Qutest improve on the 9000A's sound, or is the quality of the built in DAC more or less on the same level?
The Chord Qutest was better, however, I have to give full credit to the 9000a as it wasn’t far behind.

To my ears it does, yes.
I am still using a late 80s 8000A+P ; IMHO the present range doesn't come close to equalling the performance the old gear
