To all who didn't understand it, the two guy literally explained that their job is to make sure the patient is coming back to life.
Also quite obvious the title they stealing death right, so forcing the patient to live again.
Now guess how the gum chewing guy came back. 😂
Honestly i hope the creator of this film is able to turn this into a series one day, cause i think it would be a pretty damn good series! I'd watch it all
I agree. The "phase 2" people briefly mentioned implies that there are better trained agents that probably respond when the initial "collection" goes awry. That's a lot of good potential right there for a more exciting episode. It'd be interesting to see how places like hospitals work too.
I think so too, this is such a well-implemented idea! It gives me 'Supernatural' vibes. It may have to be a limited series, though, because I don't think there would be a lot of variety in the collecting of zombies. And changing the idea of the show would probably be to its detriment.

I work with newly bereaved families and vulnerable people every day.
This short film made me realise how easy it is to just continue “going through the motions” and “just doing your job” while losing empathy and compassion, solely for the fact this is what you do every day.
I try to be compassionate in every situation but when you don’t physically see what people are experiencing behind the scenes it becomes more and more difficult to see each experience as individual, but they are and every circumstance is different.
This film was funny but also thought provoking, thank you!

@@LittleHwangO oh that's really cool. I hope you have someone in your life that is there to listen to you. I'm sure it's gotta be tough listening to people tell you about the worst parts of their lives everyday and you trying to figure out how to help them. Very mentally demanding work.
When he choked on the gum I thought "Karma" would do justice, but the wretch was saved thanks to his partner's performance...
I'm pretty sure the gum he put back in his mouth was infected with brains and he began to turn into a zombie. What I don't understand is how he woke back up.

@@TheChromePoet He didn't want to wait to make sure the dead turned before killing folks. Had his partner done that with him he would have been killed when he could have been saved. That was the "moral". The young guy was questioning the system but the safety measure in the system, which he wanted to override, saved his own life.
I thought he was turning into a zombie cuz he was infected by the blood
This was awesome. It's a nice change of pace that this short didn't take itself so seriously while still being extremely well made. Cheers to you guys.

This was a well written and well acted short. I loved both the horror and the comedy. They mixed so well together. You had so much empathy for the family while just suffering through one of the workers who was a complete slacker who almost died on the job. 😂

I think he did die, and that the "conspiracy theory" was true. Notice how he only gets into the van later, after the call is over.
Well written, well produced, well acted, well directed ... Best thing I've seen in many years in this genre.

Reminds me of the first time I saw "Cabin in The Woods". I love when you can still find originality in horror.

This was awesome! I would definitely watch this if it was a full-length movie or a TV show. There's so much potential here!
There's a show on Prime called "In the Flesh" where zombies- or people with Partially Deceased Syndrome- come to life and regain consciousness through a neurogenic medical treatment. When they return to society more or less "normal" they face a lot of discrimination and prejudice. (Not an excellent allegory for prejudice, considering that, before treatment, they were literally smashing heads open and eating brains, but I disagree.) It's in a similar spirit as this short.
Am I the only one who got the impression at the end that there might be something right about the conspiracy theory? Yes, ppl come back, but they dont come back as zombies. Hence why nobody can be present during the execution. The older partner did let the guy die from chokeing, but he let enough time pass for him to come back to life and be normal. Notice how its definitely night once they get back in the van, and it was still light out when he choked.

I think it’s chance as to whether people die and come back normal or as a zombie, that’s why they can’t shoot a corpse before they wake up, so you know for sure they’ll come back a zombie. So I think the guy was just lucky and came back normal, and even luckier the older guy didn’t listen to him when he said just shoot me as soon as I’m dead the first time 😂 the family is probably just not allowed in the room cause of the potential malpractice and also the mental fuckery of seeing granny’s head shot through 🥴
The senior worker mentions medics used to work to save people. I believe that was foreshadowing, it cut to him coming back.
I believe the dude just did good old CPR and brought his coworker back instead of just blasting his dome piece when it seemed the youngin was dead.
Kinda punctuating the point of waiting to make sure they are dead before using the pistol.
Edit: during the credits it literally shows him preforming CPR while the song is playing lol

It's a good, out doorsy job, every day is different...
You just need to deal with people grieving and the nasty ones that were found days after...

Idk why but it kinda reminds me of Black Summer. In that series, whenever people die, they turn into zombies. Like no matter the reason behind the death, everyone becomes a zombie. I guess in this short clip, when people die, they become some sorta creature? As they mentioned “we need to be hurry” and stuff. Which means in a short period, she’d become something. I can be wrong thou. What do you all think?

I always wondered what would happen if there was a zombie apocalypse. Would the zombies overrun us, or would the military get it under control, and a scenario like this would play out in the aftermath?
This was SOO good 😂😂 I honestly could watch a whole series with this premise! 😂😂 make it happen guys!

This really did not go the way I expected. I thought the two government guys were going to end up being supernatural, like they were there to take the grandma’s soul into the afterlife or something. It was a genuine shock to me when the younger guy first spoke to the crying woman in the living room.
Love the amount of lore and world-building that is hinted at here, but not quite said out loud. My favorite was the line, “haven’t seen one of those in a while” while the camera is a the bedroom wall. I assumed he was talking about the crucifix, but it was so quick and subtle. I enjoyed the short. A lot of comments have said that they’d love to see a feature length of this concept, and yeah, me too, obviously. But this short format does have advantages that made this work really well. A short film doesn’t have to explain everything. That becomes harder to get away with in a feature length film.
Regardless, this was thoroughly entertaining. Thank you to all the people involved.
Every single part with the "Govt workers" in it were hilarious but that sped up heimlich manoeuvre at the end slayed me😆. Excellent short. Very impressively entertaining👌🏻.
The ending was absolute gold. Also, this would make for a cool series. A+

This was definitely a horror comedy and I enjoyed it. Nice end where the guy talks about shooting before they come back and he was presumed dead lol. Of course he survived the gum choking but he looked dead

Yes, sometimes life is a bureaucratic mess.
And yeah, sometimes it's that way for a reason.
The idea of a zombie apocalypse that's actually under control and has become a part of mundane life isn't explored enough.
At least that was my interpretation.
They show up at deaths, to destroy the brain, so the body doesn't come back.
The young guy said he'd rather just pop them before being sure they'd come back.
But going by his reasoning the older guy should have killed him.
Instead he did the Heimlich maneuver and cleared his throat, saving his life.
Leaving the younger guy grateful, but humbled at the end.
I would 100000000000% watch a full series of this

Good short! This made me feel like I was watching either The Twilight Zone or Black Mirror. Any story that deviates off of our current reality gets a pass from me.
Im not one to rave over every short like most commenters because honestly most are confusing with no explanation, which doesn’t make for an enjoyable watch, but this was a great short that didn’t confuse you or force you to “interpret” what the creator was going for. This one had a definitive beginning, middle and end. Excellent!

até onde eu me lembro, as legendas são geradas automaticamente pelo youtube, e nao necessariamente por alguém do canal. Mas se eu não me engano há poções para qualquer fazer uma legenda e uar no video (não tenh muita certeza disse, só ouvi falar).

It’s a horror comedy set in a world similar to the walking dead. When you die, you come back as a zombie. These two people dispatch the zombies when they reanimate and then take care of the body. It’s not that hard to understand.
