I think that when orochimaru absorbed Kabutos chakra and got his intel, he might have wittness/experienced the Izanami . Where the only way to escape is by accepting fate. Maybe that is why he has such a sudden change of heart seeing sasuke choose his own path rather than being manipulated by Orochimaru.
He had his life goal shattered by Sasuke and then saw Kabuto live it out & fail even more miserably.
Orochimaru was never intentionally malicious & evil; he grew up understanding life is fragile and spent his life trying to unlock all mysteries of the world. He was genuinely curious, but now that heâs seen what that path will lead to, he has nothing⊠so he chooses to watch how Sasukeâs tale unfolds & observe things in general.

@@willboyheroify But he was doomed to that fate the moment his ambition got away from him. That's what led to him reanimating Itachi and Madara without understanding exactly what he was dealing with. If he knew how calculating Itachi was, how many threads and of what kind he could have left in the world even after his death, he would have exercised more caution with him. Madara speaks for himself, but Itachi's the relevant one.
Remember that he kinda consumed kabotu (his knowledge) who was also trapped in itachi's jutsu, Jiraya's death aspect and Sasuke, not just one thing that happened, and he learned the history from the hokages just like sasuke did, he experienced many things that could have changed his perspective either individually or combined

I really like the character of Orochimaru because I believed the first time I watched Naruto anime, I always believed that Orochimaru would someday change.
Exactly like a snake. Changed his skin, but this time for the better. Of course, he'll always be a war criminal, but he still has a lot to offer the Leaf.

Too underrated but the flashback showed Orochimaru hesitated to kill Jiraiya, it means he cares about his teammate and childhood friend. That moment showed Orochimaru has a heart. Which is why he has truly changed.
In the same way back at the bridge of Danzo death, Sasuke was dead on wanting to kill, but Naruto wholehearted statement of being his friend made him hesitated as well
I just realized that next episode is animated by the same guy who animates the Madara Uchiha episode and the episode when Obito goes insane and kills the Kirigakure ninja

Hiroyuki Yamashita, the best animator that worked on Shippuden, imo. And thats not suprising. He was the student of Norio Matsumoto, the legend himself that worked on og Naruto and made many of its fights look amazing.

how long would the zetsu/orochimaru live ? it is not an ordinary body... it is made out of the 10 tailes mixed with hashirama cells using orochimaru techniques... it is different from the "regular" human bodies that only lasted 3 years...

zetsu aren't made from hashiramas cells.. it is apparently similar though, as the senju have inherited the sages body/physical energy) but the zetsus are actually humans that have been transformed over the millennia so they're basically at least a 1000 years old. though during that time they were in the gedo mazo. don't know how long they last without that. i believe the first time in boruto you see oro he already has another body. (though i haven't seen much of boruto, maybe when it's ended i will bulk watch it)

the zetsu(plural word) were the humans trapped in the infinite tsukoyomi over a thousand years ago but ALL zetsu now are literally made up of Hashirama cells. this is a fact. madara used the cells he collected and the gedo statue to clone hashirama's cells and Black zetsu tricked him into releasing the zetsu by imbuing them with Hashirama's cells so all Zetsu are both from 1000 years in the past but also bound with Hashirama cells

sounds like kishimoto thought he had to fill a plothole that he didn't need to fill (if that actually is in the databook) on naruto wiki in the intro it does say that they have been infused with hashiramas cells but it cites as a source chapter 521 page 4 which doesn't mention anything remotely close to any of that. but in the background section it just states that black zetsu tricked madara into thinking they were hashirama clones (no mention of infusing them with hashiramas cells).
senju inherited the sages body (juubi's body.. which is gedo mazo) i consider hashiramas cells to be pretty much the same as the juubi's body. that's why i don't think kishimoto needed to put out a databook saying stating that they were infused with hashirama cells.. i would rather have mentioned that with hashirama regarding his body.
Oruchimaru was never evil for the sake of it. He was a nihilistic scientist who was looking for answers and the truth. And I don't think he's done with his experiments and research in Boruto either.
Few different ways to look at Oruchimaru's development here,
1] His perspective must have changed a lot since he was witnessing everything through Kabuto. Orochimaru saw Kabuto, who walked the exact same path Oru was walking, and he saw where that led Kabuto. Like any true scientist, he just accepted the outcome. And currently, he is interested in Sasuke's deviated path to see where it leads.
2] Orochimaru was ideally Izanamied (Or witnessed the truth of it) as well whilst he was in Kabuto.
Orochimaru may have witnessed or experienced the Izanami when he absorbed Kabuto's chakra and obtained his information. where the only way to escape is by accepting fate (Oru had been trying everything he could to avoid it). Maybe that is why he has such a sudden change of heart upon seeing Sasuke choose his own path rather than being manipulated by Orochimaru.
3] Orochimaru made the windmill analogy during the chunin exam when fighting the third hokage. He said that he wanted to destroy the leaf just to act as wind to make the windmill turn because you can only watch a still windmill for so long. Now he's fascinated by Sasuke's effect on the windmill and doesn't want Madara to lock it all away.
4] He doesn't have the need to be behind and influence events anymore. He'd rather watch others with more ambition and see what they do to influence events. He doesn't need to be the center of attention. He is tired of the drama of conflict. He is content to conduct his weird science in the shadows. At one time, he felt he could make the world better by conquering the leaf. I think he got a chance to re-evaluate himself, previous leaders, and his own power level vs. Madara, Itachi, etc. Maybe, he decided that he was tired of the drama & he's willing to let others battle things out, while he passively seeks self-improvement.

Remember that Orochimaru was observing and thinking while "inside" Kabuto. His change of heart was not sudden, but took time and thought.
He lost his arm and was in denial and desperate escape, but after locked in Kabuto, he had to have a full time out

I don't think we saw her after that. She was a close disciple of Orochimaru and was one of the first, if not the first ever of his followers to get the curse mark. Her fighting style is evident of Orochimaru's training, including Shadow Snake strike.
I never saw orochimaru as a villain, going against the tide isnt always a bad thing
he didn't have some grand evil intentions with the world (except maybe the wanting to destroy the leaf for some kind of revenge thing) but he just didn't care about morality and committed evil acts to fullfill his goals (gaining knowledge through his experiments)

So proud of sakura now she can heal multiple people at the same time, also how much chakra does she have? if im not wrong I remember shes been healing since first day of war, also she keep healing until the end of war..
Reminder, because of how the Byakugou works (the Forehead Seal), she's even been holding back a large amount of her chakra constantly. Then again, the benefit of medical Jutsu is that much of it has never been stated to be extremely taxing on the practitioner, just that it requires an extremely acute skill in Chakra Control. Thus, using less chakra, but requiring much more patience and precision.

Orochimaru is the one of the best character of naruto
of them all, sasuke is the one who has the least reason to hate orochimaru actually. he gave him the power, and he was always honest on the reason why. he never manipulated him. on the contrary, sasuke knew from day 1, the type of person orochimaru was.
he wasnt emotionaly attached to him, sure, but he didnt really hate him that much either. he was the answer for a problem he had.

Orochimaru went through what Sasuke and Danzo went though, facing the darkness in you. It's like every team of three has to deal with it. If you pay close attention in Naruto, Shikamaru also had to deal with it but he was way too smart to turn against the leaf. (Iruka was about to go through it too if you look at his flashback because he was hurting, but he decided to just become a goofball to cope.)
I liked this aspect of Naruto that one of the 3 always has some darkness to deal with... Orochimaru for the win (also my favorite character)

If you can't trust someone who wants to kill you, betray you ot torture you, then who the hell can you trust? Certainly not those who hide their goals behind a smile. I'd trust Orochimaru over almost anyone in Naruto. Orochimaru tells you to your face what his intentions are, you can expect his actions as he told you them lol.

orochimaru did that not because he change totally, but also the personality of the white zetsu he possessed and also probably the effect of the hashirama cells, making him weird
He doesnât adopt the personality of the body he inhabits. He just isnât the villain people think he is. He has an actual personality and whatnot, you just never get to see since the only time heâs on screen is when heâs attacking someone or in pain because of his body
As said prior, Orochimaru changed because he has LITERALLY been conscious this whole time. While his body was "dead", Orochimaru was still present through EVERYONE with the curse mark he created based on Jugo's Sage Transformations. One of the first things he says after coming out of Kabuto is that he knows everything as he has been watching the whole time. This whole course of events happens because Kabuto emulated Orochimaru's ideas damn near perfectly, and even better in some ways (such as actually being capable of Sage Mode). And this emulation of his ideals failed when met with his student's, Sasuke. He is now seeing whether or not it was a fluke or not, as he's now seen the likely end of what would've been his path, plain misery and loss of self.
These episodes were too much fanservice to me, was cool that they had their respective moments but it's weird that at this point everything revolves around Konoha's shinobies (once again)... there are 4 more nations there, so much potential wasted.
On the other hand I'm glad Gamakishi got some screen time and was actually relevant, summonings (toads specially) are one of my favorite things in Naruto
