I just installed this and am very happy with the result. Whilst very helpful, this video makes it look a bit easier than it will be for the average person like me. Here are some tips that might be useful.
    1. Do it in daylight if you can - I did it in a badly lit car park, which didn’t make it any easier. Download the video to a phone or laptop so you can follow along.
    2. It’s worth covering the screen to protect it from scratches - I taped a piece of cardboard over it.
    3. Likewise, I put a cloth over the gear lever as the unit will rest against it during the installation.
    4. czcams.com/video/RbIn-z8U6lE/video.html Removing the antennas was the first difficult part. The key is to make sure the release clip is pressed. Rather than my finger, I found it easier to use two screwdrivers, one to press the clip and the other to lever the antenna out.
    5. czcams.com/video/RbIn-z8U6lE/video.html Opening the casing was not as easy as it looks in the video. Firstly, there was a sticker on one side that needed to be cut. Secondly, it was very stiff and needed a lot of force. I ended up doing it like this: czcams.com/video/MvTrdPw_nB8/video.html
    6. czcams.com/video/RbIn-z8U6lE/video.html Plugging the cables into the motherboard - I found this very tricky. They did not slide in easily, and I was worried about bending one of the pins. I did it by getting one end in, then squeezing the connecter and the port until it was fully in.
    7. czcams.com/video/RbIn-z8U6lE/video.html when installing the cables in the car, you may need to move the two-pin audio connecter with the green cable from the existing harness to the new one. Otherwise, you will have no sound. I think this applies if your car has the Bose audio system. Removing this connecter was a little tricky, but basically, there’s a small clip on the harness you press, and it just slides out. I also needed to unbind this cable from the others as its short length made everything too tight.
    8. czcams.com/video/RbIn-z8U6lE/video.html I found that locating the USB cable to the glovebox made it hard to close. I actually put it on the passenger side of the center console, as then you can use the drinks holder as a phone stand! [long-term update - this wasn’t the best decision. A dedicated phone holder is needed. Plus for neatness and ease of access, better if the cable is on the driver’s side]
    9. czcams.com/video/RbIn-z8U6lE/video.html the key to getting the harness back in easily is to push the clip fully open
    10. czcams.com/video/RbIn-z8U6lE/video.html putting the unit back in was not easy. As it shows in the video, try and bunch everything up at the back. Mine didn’t quite go in flush, but after I screwed it back in, it was fine.
    11. czcams.com/video/RbIn-z8U6lE/video.html replacing the side panels is a bit fiddly. The key is to push the end in more than you think you need to. Then look to see that the clips are aligned.
With the system up and running, a couple of things aren’t documented: to use the car mic for phone calls, in the unit settings, you need to set “original mic” to ON.
In order to switch back to Carplay from the car interface, you need to hold the INFO button.

Thanks so much for these tips. In addition:
      1) I don't think you need the slightly larger (yellow and black) wire from the new board if you aren't running cameras and plan to use wireless connection for everything (no USB). Saves some space!
      2) Don't forget the optical connections! I did originally and not only was sound not working (no surprise) but I couldn't even change inputs.

looks like a simplified kit as mentioned with less cables. However, I am hesitant to order on since there doesn't seem to be much support. I see no replies to the questions asked and gajones76 has been very helpful with info, but that's about it. I would like to hook up the rear and forward cameras as well, but no mention of that. At least I know with JoyAuto, the support is there when/if needed, and that's one of the most important criterion for ordering a kit in my opinion.
I'll wait to see if questions are answered or not before making my final decision.
Great video, just need to cover all areas i.e. camera install, and what were those other wires you did not plug into anywhere?

Just encountered the same thing-no sound. There are 2 fiber optic cables that need to be moved from the original harness block to the new one that plugs into the pcm. They come out easily, just have to be gentle, but man they make it a lot harder to move stuff around !
