And that's why the person only sells them once in a while, that way she can make 1 of each cake and cut it into slices for everyone in the waiting list to get their cake at the same time. Instead of selling 1 slice and throwing away the rest of the cake. This allows anyone interested in cakes from her will know exactly what every flavor tastes like. If she had to bake 6 cakes for every order the price would be ridiculous
The most popular wedding cake in my hometown New Orleans is almond cake... this cake is only used for weddings.. but it's a popular wedding cake that should be tried as well..
I had a friend who got vanilla cake for her wedding not because she liked the flavor in particular but because if there were crumbs left on her teeth of dress it wouldn't be noticeable bc it's not colored. It made me so sad and annoyed bc I can't imagine being so concerned about looks that you can't even enjoy a cake.
Im not a fan of meringue buttercreams. They've become standard, but I don't like that light, airy texure paired with cake. For me, the topping should be something denser and richer than the cake, hence why there is less of it.
