Why so negative?
This show means so much to me, in 90s I was going through deep depression and became suicidal but watching this show somehow gave me hope. It was better to experience life even with its Ups and Downs than not at all.

Out of total coincidence, I watched a couple Friends episodes tonight. Then starting reading internet news and was stunned to read that Matthew Perry died today. I am incredibly sad.

It aired the day I was born. I didnt watch it until I was 11 and my parents were divorcing. My mom and I watched every single episode one by one because it gave us so much joy during such a hard time

When this came out, we only had four TV channels (in the UK), no internet, no social media, barely a single soul had a mobile phone (if they did it made phone calls only and was the size of a large house brick). Although I’m writing this on a mobile phone, using the internet to post on social media, life was better back then I think.

What needs to be preserved
Seeing them together again was a dream come true for someone who practically grew up with this show. I’ll never forget how special this felt. Never did I think that would be the last time
I’d see them together. The first Friend to say goodbye. Wishing for strength to the remaining Friends to bear this loss. It’s this hard for the fans, it must be unbearable for them.

I cried so much as each member of the cast walked through the door of the stage. To see them all together again was amazing. The creators of friends are such amazing and awesome people. Each cast member was cast so perfectly! Each one was a leading actor and their characters so distinct to them. They all knew their characters so well. People need to stop hating on Mathew Perry saying he was slurring his words. He had dental work done. He is an amazing actor and a person. He has overcome so much in his life! I think this reunion was so well done! I wish more of the guest stars could have been involved. I dont think each cast member and the creators realized what a huge impact they all had on all our lives! Thank you friends, David Crane, Marta Kaufman and Kevin Bright for dedicating 10 years of your lives to making us all laugh, cry, dance and more!!! You all made the greatest tv show ever!!! 💖🙏

Everyone says it's just a show but to many it's our childhood
Joey was my favourite character. Leblanc played Joey so well throughout 10 seasons. Each scene he's in makes me laugh so hard!! 👏😂
Matthew Perry did not live the happiest life but its surprising how much he managed to achieve before bidding us all goodbye forever. He played an iconic character in an iconic show that will remain immortal. He did win against his addiction even if only for a while and managed to find some semblance of peace he had been seeking all these years. He managed to help thousand others in their battle against addiction. He managed to share his thoughts and his story with the world. He managed to have FRIENDS Reunion.
Of course, there was a lot more he desired and should have achieved but given his struggles and health, it is surprising how Universe only took him away after he has done some of the things that, i believe, only he could have done.
Noticed while watching this, Matthew Perry was the quietest of them all. And he wasn’t even in some of the scenes. Like the one where they see all the signatures in the lockers. His speech was also slurred and he seemed to have new dental work.
I’m sure it was difficult for him to be in the public.
I wish he would have talked more. I watched it just to see him. He only spoke like 4 times. :(

I a die hard friends fan but I never got a chance to see this reunion until now cuz I didn’t have the channel. Of course now I have it I just watched it, told my sister about it. She said yeah I saw it on prime. I’m like what? Cuz I do have prime. I’m just so busy who has time to know what is on what.
Anyway. I just laughed and cried and laughed and cried this was so heartfelt especially now with Matthew Perry gone to Heaven. I’m so happy he was part of it. Even though he didn’t get to say much. I heard him say he was going thru a lot of dental work at the time and his false teeth is quiet noticeable but it’s ok. We love him and will take him in anyway shape or form. Heavy, thin, with a bag, without one, with fake teeth, no matter what we want him cuz we all love him. He has brought so much joy to our lives. Along with the rest of the cast. To watch them grow together and with us in our homes it was always friends to turn to to lift our spirits. I’m sad Matthew Perry had to suffer so much in this life. I hope he is having a wonderful time in heaven. He is one of a kind. We were all blessed to be blessed with having him and the rest of the cast in our homes for 10 plus years and the continued runruns that are just as funny as the first time u watch it. Even after seeing them all a million plus times. I started crying when they showed people around the world and how it influenced them and affected their lives. I was really disappointed on how they always emasculate the men when Monica proposed to Chandler but when I hard a woman speak from another country of how it empowered her decision of choice in love and marriage it made me realize how it affected her in a positive way that I couldn’t related to cuz we have those freedoms to choose usually or mostly in the US verse other countries and cultures. So there was a benefit to it there for that.
I love love love this show. I even love seeing them all get older. The only downfall is having lady Gaga in the show and kinda upstage Phoebe in smelly cat. Quiet frankly she didn’t seem to thrilled about it either. I love both Gaga and Phoebe but her thank u speech of standing up for different people was nice. I like that Lisa said I do it better. Lol. Cuz she is supposed to be out of tune and not great so I wished they didn’t upstage her with a professional singer.
Loved seeing all the cast members. I’m surprised they never mention Brice Willis he was so funny in the show. Another wonderful actor.
But so happy I finally got to see it just like the show i didn’t want it to end. Wished Matthew Perry would have spoken more. :(.

There is an article that says the characters of FRIENDS personifies the deadliest sins such as Chandler personifies laziness (sloth), Monica personifies pride, Ross personifies wrath, Rachel personifies materialism, Phoebe personifies lust, and Joey personifies gluttony. REALLY? So over my head I did not get that. This is my favorite show and some jerk messes up all the fun. I am not having it! I will watch this show as much as I want regardless of the opinions of others.

The recent Friends reunion was a colossal global event, but it also revealed some uncomfortable truths. These six characters were once our best friends, the ones we wanted to hang out with when we came home and lounged on the couch. Their humor, camaraderie, and witty exchanges defined a world we all wanted to be a part of. They were like the entertainment soundtrack to the "End of History," showcasing an irresistible soft power that made us all cultural Americans.
However, the series never delved into the real world. There were no political events, social upheavals, cultural breakthroughs, or economic crises in their lives. Their problems were remarkably trivial, like Chandler's struggle to quit smoking or Monica's compulsion to clean. Even though one of the actors, Matthew Perry, was battling addiction during the show's production, the series maintained this puritanical façade.
The only eerie scene in the show's history was the reunion itself, where some of their surgically altered faces couldn't express emotions. They seemed to have sacrificed their ability to connect with the real world, just to cling to the past. This reunion exposed something unsettling about a beloved series that was once a part of our youth and camaraderie.
