New images have been revealed for the much-anticipated Friends reunion on HBO Max. Courtney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, David Schwimmer, and Matt LeBlanc all come together for the upcoming special for the streaming service. Officially titled Friends: The One Where They Got Back Together, it's set to release on May 27, 2021.
It's been almost two decades since the cult favorite sitcom wrapped up its 10-year run in 2004. Despite that, Friends continues to be at the forefront of pop culture thanks to its regular re-runs on TV, as well as, availability on streaming services. Aside from its already massive fan base, the community has also grown over the last several years as younger viewers discover the show. Given its enduring popularity, the idea of a reunion has always been floated around, but nothing has come out of it until HBO Max stepped in and actually made it into a reality.

I know every word of every single episode. This was my all time love of a show and I can’t believe bing is gone. I named my hamster after him when I was a kid. We were so poor all I had was a dvd player and all 10 seasons I watched for years from start to finish. Sometimes it was on just to fill the silence of a lonely childhood. Watching the full reunion episode took me back to my childhood. I grow up watching this show over and over and over to this day. Laughing crying all together. Its not just a show friends is an era❤️

The "Friends" theme song was my "class song" when I graduated in 1986. It seemed silly at the time to have a theme as a class song, but when the band played it and the choir sang it at graduation, it had most of us in tears! I never stayed in touch with any of my classmates, and knew "I'll be there for you" was a lie to most of them. I wish some had stayed in contact, but life happens. I sure would love to see a few of them before life is over!
Anyway, this brings back my teenage years, graduating, getting married, starting college all in one year, lots of firsts and just good memories. Thank you for taking me back for a little bit. I've always hoped they would do a reunion show!

If you watch the real reunion, this topic comes up. The crew aswell as the writers of the show literaly say that they don´t want a movie of friends. Because the show ended so well and everybody was where they suppose to be. To make a movie, they would have ruin the ending. As much I love friends and would love to see them on screen again, I totally agree with this.

It's those of us who watched the show, especially during it's original airtime, that brought the advertising that gave them $1m/episode and top shelf writing and production. Our viewership is what made the show a #1 hit and brought the actors more work.
Our opinion should've carried more weight. Too late now, sadly.
I watched this again after Mathew passed and I realized how people from several countries, cultures and even different sexualities loved this series. Meaning that today something like this would not be possible, because people would whine about they all being white and good looking and heterossexuals, instead they would force the directors to make a mixed up group, which would not make the it the same thing. People can't just have fun anymore. Like if you don't like it, just don't watch it.
