I reached out to CalSci and they are aware of this issue. I would definitely recommend staying away from this company's windshield for the Tiger Sport.

I would stay away from them in general. I ordered windshield for ducati supersport and windshield arrived with wrong screws like yours, they told me to buy mine in hardware store. Also shield had a big visible cut on right side, they didnt want to replace at first, replacement arrived half a year later and it again had damage on same place plus other numerous smaller scratches. While riding it was not improvement over ducati factory option. Overall horrible experience, guy that i talked to was very rude and unprofessional. Honestly i hope they go out of business they way they treat customers.

Thank you for this detailed analysis and your well-balanced all round perspective. I have the same new bike and am similarly concerned about the screen, especially when travelling at speed on the motorway. Your video demonstrates that although aftermarket screens may initially appear to be an ideal solution, your review of the detail and then the test ride clearly indicates that this was not to be in this case. Thank you for this excellent piece of work, which helps us both and perhaps many others in the same situation

Thanks for sharing this product test. I have a TS660 on order and my number 1 concern from test rides was wind noise and helmet buffeting with the screen in the high position. Based on my research, the only options I found were this Calsci product and two offerings from Powerbronze. I have a spoiler so I expect my first course of action will be to spend several hours experimenting with many spoiler positions to see if I can find an acceptable configuration.
I also noticed during test rides that the front windshield assembly and the fairing that supports it seems a bit weak, resulting in noticeable flex when riding at speed. I think the combination of this weak assembly and the weight of the larger Calsci screen produced all the movement you experienced and caused the screen to slip out of position. I suspect this issue may plague all windshield manufacturers who build something for the TS660 until Triumph strengthens the assembly.
With regard to audio quality, the wind noise was acceptable and your voice was crystal clear, and better than 98% of most vlogs. So from the viewer's standpoint, everything is fine.

If I can save people time and money by sharing my struggles with a product then it's totally worth it for me to put a video out. I have confirmed that the issue was not on my end.

Thank you for this review. I’m 6’ 1” and the wind noise for me with the windshield at the lowest level was unbearable even with ear plugs and a full face helmet. As I raise the windshield, the buffeting starts and get progressively worse each time I raise it another notch. In the highest settings, the buffeting was so bad that I could literally not read the signs on the Highway.
, I removed the windshield and road it. The difference was amazing, totally comfortable with very little noise. After that, I took a Dremel tool and cut 4” of the windshield. Major improvement and the windshield is usable in all positions. Not perfect but so much better.

Having tried a Tiger 800 and Tiger 660 back to back, the 800 (and presumably its replacement, the 900) has noticeably better (and quieter) wind protection than the 660. The windshields on both bikes are around the same size and distance from the rider, the main difference being the small screen winglets behind the instrument panel on the 800. I don't think that they would make a lot of difference on their own. I decided that the problem with the 660 is that the rider sits higher than on the larger bike. On the 800 you sit much more in the bike.

I bought a Givi tyre 66cm claim tall, it work great but the windshield bracket didn't hold it well probably because the weight and shacking on road while riding the windshield keep dropping down. The bracket can't hold it well because we the bracket doesn't have a stopper that the bad side of this Triumph tiger sport. Just don't know how to overcome it or else find a pcs of plastic that stuck in-between the gap or the bracket 😅

I recently tried the same windshield (CalSci) on my new Tiger Sport 660 and had the same experience. Wrong installation hardware, oversimplified instructions (spacer positioning and size, etc.), and far too noisy while riding. My biggest issue was that the new windshield was so heavy that it kept falling down when I would go highway speeds and go over any pronounced bumps. Unfortunately for me, I took off my plastic wrap when I installed it so I will have to eat the cost for this useless accessory. Hopefully one of the quality, third-party vendors will come out with a true upgrade for the stock windshield. The CalSci is NOT an upgrade. They have so many words on their website, but unfortunately their execution was not a match.

  • @i2ambler2002

I just picked up a CalSci windscreen for my Ducati, and it seems like the quality control is somewhat lacking. I had to dremel out one of the attachment holes because it had a lot of extra material that was missed, and of course got a scratch from struggling to install it prior to noticing the misalignment. *even through plastic wrap*. A little scratch, no biggie. Unfortunately, after taking the wrap off I noticed the top of the windshield has a line of little tiny holes in it - like they had an issue with the laser when cutting. Like - holy shit, nobody noticed before sending? I doubt I can return it - now that I put a fairly noticeable scratch in it. I haven't even ridden with it yet, but the QC needs work.

@@KSSTUDIOS I fitted a Powerbronze tall screen which made the problem worse, after a couple of weeks I cautiously got the dremel out and cut 6" off to make it 17.5" high. I also made up some 20mm spacers from a gearleaver rubber this has made a big difference except the windscreen cannot be adjusted on the move as the rubbers allow the fixing points to wobble when the adjustment handle is lifted.
