  • He has worked on the inside for years and now he’s had enough!
    Azhar Chohan is standing as an Independent parliamentary candidate exposing what Labour really thinks about Muslims and BAME communities across the country.
    He speaks to Dr. Salman Butt about the alleged contempt that the two dynastic parties have for Muslims, as well as his plans for Slough, where the Muslim vote alone could theoretically make or break an election campaign.

      @@lenwilkinson672 England’s a mess because naive people elect self-serving-war mongering idiots and then wonder where all these migrants whose countries we’ve ruined have suddenly come from and why there’s endless money for war yet not for public services. Meanwhile the rich get richer and the poor have to use food banks. It’s about time you look past skin colour and religion and vote for people of good character who care about the community they live in

    Hopefully this is the start of political awareness within the Muslim community, for too long now we've been unintentionally blasé to our detriment .
    This must not continue any longer.

      I think you could say the same about large numbers of groups in the UK. I'm no youngster but all my life politicians and our media have used the clumsy and callous tool of pitting selected groups against others in order to sow division and animosity, in the hope they will profit politically thereby.

      As Portillo below says, we've needed a change, a genuine challenge to the FPTP system, and the arrogance of the "major two". Couple that with the approach of "scapegoat de jour", mainly to cover political corruption, you see that there's never been a time when we've needed independent voices speaking for us all!

    I was impressed until the candidate claimed free schools were set up under Labour. This is factually incorrect. Why is the candidate so obsessed with supporting a Tory education initiative? I'd rather support a candidate who has done their homework (lol) and wants all state schools to provide a great education for all our children.

    • @hardworkingwoman3780
      @hardworkingwoman3780 Před 8 dny +3

      Free schools are the same as Academies, which were introduced by Tony Blair during his Prime Ministerial years. The only difference is - Free schools are brand new schools operating in the exact same way as Academies; where Academies are state schools who converted to the Free School model introduced by Blair.
      So, it is yourself, I am afraid, who has their facts mixed up; maybe due to not being aware that Academies & Free Schools are basically the same, bar 'converted' versus 'new'.
      Happy to help 😊
      Hope you reconsider and give Azhar your vote.
      For me, the two main parties are enormously corrupted and have 'forgotten' why they are elected and what their role in the house is.
      Although, they've not really forgotten have they, they've simply been bought!
      Don't give Lab or the Cons a majority and have as many seats filled with voices, hearts and minds, like Azhar's, who clearly understands the role of the UK Parliament and who each MP is there to speak up for 🙏🙏🙏
      If we keep as we are we will remain the 53rd state of the US; a lap dog to them and the megalomaniac leaders of genocide!
      Vote for your home, vote for your community ❤

      @hardworkingwoman3780 you have tied yourself in knots with your answer. The candidate is defending free schools, not academies, and seems weirdly keen on education being dependent on the whims of rich philanthropists. Blair set up academies and free schools have similarities with academies. That isn't what the candidate said. My vote will be cast in a constituency in Scotland, where luckily we have wider genuine options than either red, tartan or blue Tories.

      @@juliamountain1846 your point is moot tbf. And no, I'm perfectly not in knots but appear to have heard the candidate to be backing both - since they are one and the same, which you acknowledge but apparently cannot hear.
      Hope you get the rep you want, and I hope the Westminster house sees the biggest shake up ever seen - much needed.

    Everyone is trying to cash in on an independent vote, Im Muslim but I’m going to vote labour because I want the tories out regardless of the Gaza issue even though I’m not happy with starmer views. However the tories have been supporting Israel since the start so why have Muslims voted for conservatives in the past ? Oh wait it suited them even though they knew the tories were supporting Israel. Nothing has changed, our communities are hypocrites.

    • @zb2119
      @zb2119 Před 6 dny

      That isn't the only problem, the Ford report found a hierarchy of racism within the party, under Starmer. He also wouldn't reverse the child benefit cap which has punished thousands of kids. He will tax independent schools making it harder for charity run schools to exist. He also is a compulsive liar...he has lied from start to finish so what you think you are voting for with him I don't know. As he became leader of the party through false claims and assertions and now he has reneged on everything. He doesn't believe in a green new deal, doesn't believe in public ownership if utilities doesn't have a clue about what he will do to clean sewage out of the water and believes we can help cut nhs waiting times by using the private sector...that would just divert money away from the NHS and fix none of the problems we have. So good luck with your voting and the outcome

    What starmer did on Gaza is no different to what the conservatives have been doing for years. I don’t agree with starmer, but hang on let’s stop jumping on starmer because of his take on Gaza.
