  • Rishi Sunak has called a surprise general election for 4th July - that’s only 40 days away! But this election is going to be about Gaza.
We spoke to Dr. Wajid Akhter and Umer Suleman to discuss The Muslim Vote - a united movement among the UK Muslim community like never before that’s done loads of research into Muslim constituencies, and even held a national town hall where hundreds of Muslims came together from all over the UK to discuss our strategies.

Very informative thank you all. I fell out with democracy since the Iraq war, in protest I have never voted. having listened to your views I feel it's time to register. I will be voting for our local candidate for the workers party of Britain and George Galloway.

The government will never allow values that contradict the 4 freedoms and Islamic values. Look at LGBT.
Voting does not guarantee anything. It just allows that individual to what he or she likes.

We need you to organise at local and grassroot level. Please use Friday sermons to promote muslim vote. Let's plan and formulate a strategy for mobilising the Muslims. We have muslim media so exploit them. Please, please start today.

Good point that Muslims need to unite and work with non-Muslim brothers and sisters on voting for candidates that will help advance social justice, sadly this is not now normally a Conservative or Labour candidate. We can suffer short term gain for longer term benefit to society.

A lot of Non-Muslims in UK probably have this impression that we only have concerns about Muslim issues but we have a lot of concerns which impact everyone including the threats to the family unit with agendas being pushed to our children, housing crisis, cost of living, homelessness and jobs and education opportunities. Obviously Palestine is the No.1 issue right now and it has really mobilised us against the establishment but we have so much concerns for our community. The average Daily Mail and the Sun reader will not understand this but there are many good people in the UK who do realise we have so much more to offer

Also importanly. Don't split the Independent vote. Get behind a single candidate.
3 Independents are running in Rushanara Ali a Labour MP's Bethnal Green and Bow.
With 3 Independent she will be back.

Yes brothers, I think we should unite all of us Muslims and send a strong message. Please send awareness wherever possible. I have seen lot of our communities have no information about this, even those who are aware are facing lot of obstacles similar to the ones you all have mentioned. Please use every platform and wherever possible to raise awareness to our communities.

Should we vote candidates who are pro Palestinian but also pro bashar and China. Eg clowns like galloway. Gaza might be biggest issue bt I feel uneasy valuing their lives over Syrians and Ughuirs

This strategy only really works where Muslims are concentrated in numbers.
What about Muslims that are actually minorities where they reside? Such as small towns etc.
Could they have any impact ata all? Perhaps spoil a bllaot if there are no alternatives to Tory or Labour?

    • @Imrankhan-pw4ow

Workers party of great Britain and George Galloway is the alternative. George Galloway will put great back in great Britain.

    • @sidkings
      @sidkings Před měsícem

I agree but it's unlikely he'll have candidates in smaller towns. His focus is on large conurbation like Greater Manchester, West Midlands and Greater London.
The question is who do people in small towns vote for? It'll almost certainly be Tory, Lib Dems or Greens as I doubt WPGB will be fielding candidates in Wiltshire, Surrey, Somerset etc.

@@Imrankhan-pw4ow 🙂... I guess you have to have a certain calibre and qualities to be an MP, Cllr etc. If it was that simple any Tom, Dick and Harry would be standing for election.

it's about blackmail then, not policy for this country. Move to Gaxa if you're ot satisfied here, stop making Gaza a British problem, the problem over there is Hamas, they knew exactly what they were doing when they attacked on 7th October, they ran in committed those awful barbaric acts then went and hid I'm tunnels under the civilians, by the way it was British Palestine in 1948 not Palestinian Palestine. Which included Gaza and the West Bank.
