Nice example of these motors, one of the first years with CDI. I had never seen a kill switch fail on one of these before, but the new one was inexpensive and much safer.
Unfortunately, my brothers son in law gave me a inflatable raft and one of these evinrude motors, it hasn’t been ran in about 8 years, I’ve had it for 3 years, I took this thinking when moving to Florida I would meet someone that knows something about this boat and motor, the unfortunate part is since this last election we’re not doing well financially! I can’t afford to take this in have someone get it up and running, how ever seeing your video gives me hope that if I ever do it looks like an amazing motor!
Those old 9.9 and 15 hp Evinrude and Johnson motor's is incredibly easy to work with . There's thousands off vids on youtube you can watch and maybe get it up running again. You don't need to bee an engineer to work on this motors .

That looks brand new, nice one!
Great motors
I have an 82 15 hp johnson
Unbelievable how these motors can idle so low and still have lots of top end for a 14 foot aluminum boat
What size boat Sir?? Omg That faster
