That was a lot of work, made my brain hurt trying to keep up. But if your drone doesn't have a hyperlapse feature then you can still get it done and that's real dedication to your craft. I like that you did it with free apps too.
Damn that is impressive results, had no idea blender could be used like that for motion tracking. Wonder if you can get nice tracked subject shots that way too!
Thanks for providing alternatives for the big company software. Your tutorial was great because you also showed your “mistakes” or learning moments. I’m a hobbyist like you, so I really appreciate the back steps you took as well as the overall workflow.
Now I have a teacher to practice my Mini 2 flights and my English! It's already the 4th video in a row I've watched. Brazil's here!!!!🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷 Fly safe!!!🛫🕊️ Subscribed and notification bell enabled!
Here's a tip for image stabilization: the free edition of Davinci Resolve 17 has video stabilisation that is much easier to use, without needing manual tracking markers. (And a great free video editor anyway) I absolutely love Blender, but it's not the easiest to use for this one task.
@@ChadB In Davinci Resolve you can also import DNG file format and make video. In fact, you can do everything for you are currently using several programs. And it`s free. Keep on great work.
Great video 👍🏼😉. I’ve had my Mini 2 for just over a year and wasn’t as confident last year during the dark nights, but I’m going to give it a go this year. Some fantastic tips. Thank you 😊
Just got the air 2S and saw your tutorial for that drone too. The fact that you show us how to use Free tools, alone, is worth my subscription to your channel. Thank you!
Excellent job of showing how to do it on the cheap. i have a MINI 2 and it is pretty amazing for what it provides. They have added many new features and bug fixes so make sure you keep up with the firm ware update downloads for the drone AND the remote controller. I am ruinning with an Android which works great. I have heard that they may have added Hyperlapse on the latest firmware update for Iphone fly me app....with Android soon to follow.
Perspective is an amazing thing. At the end of this video you said people may think it's a lot of work for a small video. And the entire time I watched this I thought how little work you were doing to create an amazing video. You made it look so effortless. And it is really inspiring. Thank you.
I recently got my new dji mini 2 and I'm trying to learn different shots and video editing. I find your tutorial very helpful and interesting. Thank you for this 😊
Thank you Chad. I'm a newbie and I had no idea that we could create a hyperlapse with our Mini 2. My does some great hyperlapse with is Air 2S and I'm anxious to try this. Thank You
The car metal chassis shields off the controller radio signal and reduces distance control. Recommended is to use an external antenna and put it on top of the car roof.
First of all, thanks for the tutorial. Just got a Mini 2 in the mail, so trying to find good instructional videos I can use later when I've gotten more proficient in flying the thing. Just one question: You said you had to light on to fly legal, but you sat in the car so didn't really have VLOS on the drone while flying. Is that allowed?
Dear Chad, I cant say how happy I was to find this video, really helpful. I was really disappointed to find my mini doesnt hyperlapse in quickshots. This is brilliant and I will use your method now. Really great content and delivery. Thanks again from the uk. Chris larn
This is an excellent tutorial. I have the Mini 1 (*) and I can use this tutorial to create a hyperlapse from photos from that drone too. As a hobbyist, I've been using the free Kdenlive editor, but after watching this video, I'm going to give Darktable a try too. (*) I bought a Mini 2 but got a hardware failure error on the second day. Now I'm enduring the long wait for my replacement.
Great skills man! Gonna try this out for sure still trying my best as well...it does help out quite a bit knowing what software to use it’s my biggest downfall I think
Thanks. Putting the Photo sequence together can be done in pretty much any video editor. I was able to do it in the basic video editor that comes with Windows on my PC. But on the Windows editor I had to set the photo duration to 0.01 because it didn't have an option to set it by frames. Also, depending on how smooth your flight is, you may not even need to stabilize it.
@@ChadB flying from inside your car really blows my mind... No interference ? Is the signal weaker from inside the car? The Mini 2 was flying "in front" of the car (directional) during the flight? How far was the Mini 2 from the car? Thanks.
@@ChadB lots of these tutorial interviews are sloppily shot, even if the drone footage is good. But you clearly care about the artistry. It’s appreciated. Good lighting is always a win!
Very impressive work, I'll try some of your proposed tools! But... wouldn't it be easier, to just take a 4k Video and increase the playing speed? That would also permit lower acceleration factors such as 5x
Well for one a 30 min 4k video would be massive and hard to work with. But also a sped of video has a very different look than a proper hyper lapse since it has so many frames it looks too smooth. 30 frames per second compared to one frame every 5 seconds.
@Chad.b try to switch it on only jpeg which will give you 2s and 3s also I blv and then afterwards hit em up in the light room or any application of your choice.great explanation very clear and easy to follow too .great video

Great tutorial, sir. Very well done. Would be nice to see a video describing the raw photo editing/enhancement options. Seems like there are so many variables that can be adjusted, and would be nice to understand how all those (e.g., vibrancy, saturation) affect the image.
