So, how to parallax with a drone. It's fun. It can be dangerous, it's lucky I crashed into an abandoned building, it could have been worse for me and the drone. Filming parallax with the DJI Mini 2 is much like filming parallax with any drone, the great thing is we can zoom in 2x on the Mini 2 giving us a somewhat long lens. It looks great and adds to the parallax effect. The longer the lens the more apparent the parallax, the background will spin at a faster rate giving us this cool Hollywood look. Parallax with a drone is not an easy move to pull off, especially the DJI Mini 2, as you have to do this 100% manually. Using a drone such as the DJI Mavic 2 Pro you can program it to circle continuously whilst also being able to adjust distance and height. Practice, it's a lot of fun and even comes in handy with the bigger drones.

It's a very important to practice as much as possible before going on a real shooting location (abroad vacation etc.). Mini 2 is very good in terms of flying in the city because of the OcuSync. So practice as much as possible otherwise you'll ruin your important shots
I just order the DJI Mini 2 here in Argentina, where drones and equipment are twice more expensive, then I found your channel, how awesome is the algorithm doing, lol. I'm working as a freelance filmmaker since 2016 but since pandemic I started losing what I want to do with my filmmaking career, I stopped going out and shoot, you know, enjoy the process. But I know I'll be back in my path and shoot all south of my country, which I don't know much and it's awesome, hope you can visit here one day, so glad to meet you Phillip!

haha, there are so many polishers out there! To tell you the truth, after I screwed and glued her together, I gave her a good polish just so she flies faster 😂 To be honest after my fix up it looks like I just took her out of the box! You're welcome, happy you like them!
Thanks for showing Phil! There is however one ultimate next level you need to show us and that is a parallax around a MOVING object. Anyone who can pull that off with the Mini 2 can be considered the Mini 2 Master (M2M). Look forward for your next video :-)

It's funny - the first warm day here in Montreal and I went out and did the exact same thing with the Olympic Stadium today. I am going to do it again tomorrow as it was really windy, supposed to be even nicer tomorrow. I have been patiently waiting for this for 3 months...

Tough drone! How ironic that the bigger drones I think I'll be using more ended up sitting in the shelf collecting dusts and the Mini 2 I got as a back up drone, I ended up using more frequently! If I was in your shoes I'd also spend $60 just to recover this drone! It's that good!
Yes Dennis!! Exactly!! The Mavic 2 Pro, the Matrice 600 and the FPV are all collecting dust right now, I always reach for the Mini 2! The quality of image and easy of use is just amazing, so it gets used 99% of the time.

So ive had the mini for a while watched you videos. Brough the filter kit after watching your video on them. .Been using them and testing. So finally but the drone footage on the Mac desktop. And im blown away over how good it looks straight of camera with the filters. just unreal. thank you

I crashed my mini 2 today and broke 2 of the motors. I was worried I'm going to be without a drone for an anticipated trip. You're intro actually helped alleviate my stress.
That's nothing to worry about, it's part of the process, and no doubt the best way to learn that crashes happen. Now it's out of your system don't let it slow you down but make you a better pilot. If some glue can help then that's great, if not, I'm sure DJI can help you out. Heads up Rej!

I managed to slam mine into a dry stone wall a few weeks ago. Surprisingly, despite a cracked top cover and a few scrapes, it seems to be working ok. Think I should replace the top cover or leave it with 'character' 😂😂

I've had my DJI Mini 2 Combo for two weeks and I haven't even unwrapped the strap yet, let alone gotten it airborne. I've been reading up, watching videos, learning everything I need to know first.

I had adapted your tuning parameters for rotation speeds for various flight modes,as I have gained experience finding I am increasing rotation speed tuning even bit higher.
Thank You! Yes, the crosshairs come in very handy when flying a manual parallax. It took a little bit of glue and it flies like it's new, been out on quite a few flights recently.
For its price point this little drone is incredible. I have a few drones, and honestly, I use this one 99% of the time. DJI really did a good job! Yes, having quicker rotation is quite helpful, I get very frustrated if it's too slow, especially if I need to scout quickly.

Drone wasn't on my eyesight, because it wasn't a planed scene, I woke up early and I didn't sleep enough. Was a good receipt for disaster. Using DJI Care Refresh for the first time. Awesome post, inspirational! Especially to a newb like me. But I am confused: at 6:50 you show the drone spinning counterclockwise and in your recordings, like 1:08, it's clear that the drone is turning left/counterclockwise. But at 6:44 you show and explain that the left stick is pushed to the right, which would turn the drone right/clockwise. What did I miss?

Yes, it sounds logical that the right should be to the right and the left to slightly to the left, and it probably was, but I think I had such an emotional day yesterday my mind probably played tricks on me. Bottom line, drop the hammer using the right stick to the top right, and then us the left stick to adjust the image so it is all in the middle. Depending on your speed and tightness of your circle, that's where you'll left thumb will turn up. Adjusting it you might be off to the left or to the right slightly. It's all about practice and feeling it out.

Your videos are really helpful to learn something new ... I will try to do parallax manually ....u know secret 😜 even I crashed my mini 2 but luckily it wasn't damaged so much...just propellers were broken 1 pair... Love from Scorpions BD and love from Bangladesh ....

Thank You Robert! I actually went there with no plan at all, sat there on a bench, had a bit of a creative low and looked up, saw this beautiful chimney and thought, I'm going to fly the crap out of that chimney and this is the film that came out of it.
@@PhillipSkraba Some of my own fav videos come from me getting a 'ping' noise in my head, grabbing my bag and shooting out to fly - usually with very little idea of what I'm actually doing! :)
