That massive $50k one they cut in half was gorgeous. I'd love to make a large pendant and rings out of that.
I wish they grinded them down instead of cutting straight through to preserve the size of it and getting a "nugget instead of a half cut, but i get it would take a long time.
@@zeragaming4581 gotta value the labor, they would’ve been there for days just polishing minerals that had no value.
Mother Nature is just so magnificent.
That one nut looked like a jewel seeded petrified avocado.
Entout c il sont extraordinaire leur trouvaille...
HAHAHAHAH what I exactly thought which is why i clicked in this video xD it looks like an avocado on the thumbnail

Oh man..The colors and stones..wow..
Congrats you've found avocado shape like
I wonder how many were left behind undiscovered. This haul is awesome.
Just stunning 🤙
Yeah the stones are alright too.
Straight up if they didn’t cut all these in half and instead extract with grind stones this collection would be worth ten times the amount
grinding take way too much work tho
I'd assume that they cut it because they're processing so much rock with little to no value in it. Grinding slowly through every single one simply isn't feasible if you're going through so many 'duds' with nothing of value in it, or opal of a far lower quality and value.
Basically, by cutting them, they can evaluate more rocks, and thus increase their chance of finding opal in the first place.
@@mackan072 also the granite pit or w/e also runs dry of Them someday. Guess they in a hurry for money
@@xxxsugoitacion when you’re talking the difference between millions of dollars…
It’s worth the work
They explained in another segment that aggressive grinding will cause the opal to disintegrate, so it just wouldn't be feasible to gradually grind each one down to determine if it was even of any value.
fantastic ......
very interesting lesson
Lovely video on opal
They missed so much under all those rocks.
can always go back next season a find more

why saw it in half instead of grinding it down so you can get the full shape?
Because it would drive you insane in a week.
@@AlexDuWaldt but the moneyz
@@SlavesWereGood XD except no. I kinda had that similar line of thinking about the Yowah nuts for a little while. The reason they don't lap them all on a diamond wheel is because until you get into it you don't even know if it contains opal at all or to what degree. It would literally drive you insane within an hour.

I would love go digging for Opal in Australia✔︎
Me as well. Or even gold.
Same!!
Wow it's nice..
Oh So beautiful
Why was this not in the TV edition?
I dont understand why you would cut each nut directly down the middle when thats where the opal would probably be.
couple reasons, the nuts are either going to be specimens or cut into jewellery. In both instances, cutting down the middle shows the most face for specimens and allows more backing for cutting into jewellery
Them: saws a rock that has a shape of a avocado
Me not even thinking: avocado 🥑
