i'm an atheist, but I have truly enjoyed stumbling across your channel. it gives me so much insight into a life I had no idea about :)
I love that these videos give people across all faiths and beliefs a small Peak into a life that they thought was so different than theirs but in reality we all just want love and happiness and that is the biggest unifier.
I agree. I also think that people of all belief systems can benefit from time set aside for special events and family/friends gatherings to relax and celebrate the gift of life. Her tips on preparing ahead of time are great for those of us caught in the rat race of life. Plan time to slow down and enjoy simple pleasures.
Brother Israelis God is real
Sometimes we have to have me time and indulge ourselves.
Isn’t Sonya magical? She has so much empathy for all. I’m converting to Judaism (raised Christian), but just want to say that I support you and am grateful for your presence in this community. 💖
PLEASE do a video on the Challah dough BLESSING. Beautiful channel--Thank you!
I wish I could be like you 😢 I’m working on myself but it’s been a difficult journey. To be dedicated, religious, a great cook, mother and wife ..you are an amazing woman ❤
We all do what we can in the space of time we are in. Don't be so hard on yourself.
As a spaniard I love seeing sephardic recipes and culture, I feel we are still brothers and sisters. Un saludo desde España.
Thanks for watching!
Yes! 😊
I love your channel. I am a born again Christian, with many Jewish friends....I love to watch how you do everything. It is wonderful. Blessings to you and your family.
🥰❤️❤️
Me too!! She is such an inspiration to me!!

You should see Rabbi Tovia Singer's CZcams channel and understand why Jews read the Bible differently and also learn how you as a nonjew can fulfill your role in creating the tikkun olam, world to come, that G-d wants when the messiah comes.
G-d created a covenant with the nonjews starting with Noah where nonjews have 7 sets of laws to follow. Later, G-d made the covenant with the Jews and gave them 613 laws. Jews and nonjews each have a unique role to play in G-d's redemption of the world.
I agree 100%❤️❤️❤️ and absolutely love Israel and all things Jewish. They are God’s chosen people! 🇮🇱✡️
I like how you balance "homemade" with store bought sauces and seasonings. Your breads are gorgeous.
Thank you so much!
WOW...I'm not Jewish but everything looks so amazing and delicious. So much work but prepping is something I love. Thanks for sharing :)
I would love to hear more about the Hafrashat Challah!
Watching this as a Messianic Jew... it's very educative and encouraging.
I've learned alot.
As a follower of Yeshua, who keeps Shabbat and eats biblically clean I so agree. I appreciate these videos of hers. I need fresh ideas. 💕
I just stumbled to your vids. I truly enjoy them and I look forward to baking/cooking like this some day. You are truly a Proverbs 31 woman
You have the most wonderful channel on CZcams. Your channel is not only informative, but unlike many other channels, there is no political talk, no confrontation, just great family values.
Love those marble countertops.
Beautiful, just a beautiful video. I am not Jewish, but I can't say enough about how beatiful this is.
Awwww thank you so much
What a wonderful blessing for your family to have such delicious homemade bread every week!
As a born again Christian. The Bible says in the book of Deuteronomy 28:8 The Lord will send a blessing in your barns and everything you put your hand to. Verse 5 Your basket and kneading trough will be blessed.
You are a blessing Sonja.
You are loved xxx
Blessings to you and yours

@@karimgomez6933 Jews do not believe that Yeshua is the messiah as Christians do. But the 4th commandment should be followed by all! Observe the sabbath day and keep it holy! ❤🙌🏻🙏🏼
@@Sabbathissaturday I know that. Thank you
I’m exhausted watching!! You are super woman. Good to see hubby and kiddos helping out.
I definitely agree on cooking what you love to eat too.
You are important to the happiness of your family too.
My husband doesn’t like Olives. So I rarely make anything with it.
But I do get them for myself when I feel like it.
I agree! We need to do a little something for ourselves as well.
It’s just so amazing to me what these lovely women are able to accomplish weekly while also working outside the home! It’s quite remarkable! 😮❤️
This lady is definitely a perfect cook!!! I’m not Jewish but really enjoyed watching..thankyou ❤
You’re already such an excellent cook and I’ve learned so much! Just a tip:
If you bake your beef fat side up, it keeps it moist as it renders downward slowly into itself.
Thank you for sharing your recipes. So glad to know more about your religion n traditions. Greetings from Malaysia 🇲🇾
You challah looks AMAZING!!!!!! I live in Bermuda now and miss challah so much. You've inspired me to give making some challah a try.
And YES!!!! I do wash my meat and fish before cooking it. My husband is English, and the first time he saw me do that, he thought i was crazy. I'm glad I'm not the only doing this as part of food prep.
You mentioned Jamie Geller in the video, and this is how I discovered your channel. I was looking for recipes and I found Jamie Geller's matzo ball recipe. CZcams recommended your channel after I watched a few of her videos. In fact, I made her honey cake recipe last Rosh Hashanah. I can't say enough great things about your salads and the way you put vegetables front and center in so many recipes. My Mom is having salad and vegetables almost every day now and she says she is thriving on the food. Thank you for more inspiration on food and beyond!
Oh wow thats amazing!!!
Hi Sonya. I’m a Seventh-Day Adventist soon-to-be homemaker waiting for God to send me a husband, your videos have helped me emotionally and spiritually prepare for my future. Blessings to you💕
Every week I am impressed by the variety and quality of your Shabbat dishes. Saludos from Cuernavaca, Mexico
My dear, Sonja, I have to tell you that I watched another Orthodox Jewish program and I must tell you that this person, although I find her very nice and lovely children, she cannot take your place in my honest opinion. Your recipes and cooking skills are head and shoulders above any other Orthodox Jewish channel. Thank you for all that you do and all that you show us. You have helped me so much you will never know! Bless you, my dear, and your wonderful husband and children. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 You are amazing!!
I am christian and a subscriber but I appreciate how your videos. God bless.
Bless you too
I know how comforting & happy I feel when I light the Shabbat candles and say the prayers, all the preparations are worth it 👌 I don't always make bread and my kids are grown so it is a lot easier for me. So enjoy your beautiful videos
Thank you
We are not Jewish but we do observe Shabbat and I love watching you prep for the day! Feeling inspired here!
Thank you for the inspiration you provide for Shabbat prep. Shabbat Shalom!
Our pleasure!
I am not Jewish but I love your cooking videos! I am actually quite fascinated with your religion and traditions. I was born and raised in Poland and I remember as a little girl my grandparents telling me how many Polish Jewish people lived in Poland before WWII. My grandfather always said how he loved their stores /businesses they had in our little village/ town. Everyone got along very well. He said, they were very good hard working people. I think after Catholics Judaism was the second biggest religion in Poland back than. Anyway, have you visited Poland yet? Thank you for your beautiful videos ❤️
I have never been there but my husband and I talk about going there quite often ❤️
Where are all those jews now?
@user-yu3mg1wv1p My Polish Jewish grandparents perished in Auschwitz. The probable answer to your question is the same fate. I have visited Auschwitz, an untouched symbol of hatred and man's inhumanity to man. Rest in peace, always remembered. ❣️Kate
@@madhattersoriginal6258 Of course!! That's why I asked. From her words, one might think that nothing happened to the Jews in Poland. Three million Polish Jews were murdered in the Holocaust!! Six million were murdered in all the countries the Nazis reached. The world needs to know this, we must not forget!
@@sissy-r3o I can't tell if you're being serious.. Polish, and other European Jewish folks, were displaced and forced into death camps. I find it hard to believe you don't know about the Holocaust. Nazi Germany's genocide of tens of millions of Jews and millions of other people they deemed less than.
yes please tell us how you bless your bread. loved watching you baking my fav bread.
Thank you for sharing your Shabbat preparation with us! Everything looks wonderful! Shabbat Shalom!
I enjoy watching you prep all your meals! You make everything look so easy. Many blessings to you and your family from the UK 🇬🇧
Thank you so much!
Good food seem to be delicious
Love these videos. Learning lots and so inspirational. Please make that video on Hafrashat Challah.
I second this!
I would love to see this too.
Thank you for sharing this ancestral 'savoir-faire' and preparation performed with love -
Honestly I really now want that plate warmer honestly its a life saver. Thank you for sharing.
Lol regarding the eggplant I’m the same way! I made both roasted babaganoush this week and a matbucha style eggplant dish this week even though I’m the only one in my family who eats it😂
Lol e got to make ourselves happy too
Love your way of organizing it makes look so nice 😊😊😊😊😊 congratulations for successfully depicting your culture 💛
Absolutely love your channel~! The Hawaij spice sounds so intriguing. I will definitely try the Yemenite Soup and I'm going to see your sourdough video next.💕
Hello Sonya! Yes I do cook things for myself that no one else will eat. It is usually some type of vegetable... beets, brussel sprouts. So funny you mentioned sumac, I just watched a show and the character(a jewish woman) said she had used sumac in the soup. I will have to try that! Your videos are helping me try to become a better prepared, more organized cook. Love your channel! Shalom, Shalom
I have never thought of making challah in pans before, but what a wonderful idea. Making a lot of medium sized challah sure beats making one or two large challah. I will have to try it. I LOVE Blueland laundry tabs. I love being able to eliminate those large plastic containers from the landfills.
Loved this .Shabbat shalom.
Beautiful. Two tips from someone who is bak8ng challah for over 30 years. I use kosher salt it makes a difference. Next I egg the challah put it on 250 for 15 min. To rise then make the temperature up to 350. To finish baking it. (Learned from a professional challah baker). Everything's looks amazing. Live to watch your videos.
You can edit your errors if you tap the 3 little dots to the right of the post. Hope that helps.
Thanks Yaffa will try next time
Ok Sonya, I can’t stop watching your videos. 😂. I’m not Jewish so I’m learning a lot as well. You have such a nice demeanor and do all this with such a great attitude and smile. Most women I know (me included) would find this to be overwhelming and burdensome. Wow 🙌👏
I love taking care of my family and bringing everyone together at the end of the week. I can definitely just throw a chicken in the oven and call it a day but I remember the memories that were created in my parents home doing all these intricate things, And want the same for my own kids now.
Thank you for sharing. I always get a sense of peace watching you prepare for Shabbat. And I also have to have a clean kitchen before starting my prep.
So happy that you enjoyed the video. A clean kitchen puts a pep in my step as they say.
I love all your videos, and the preparations for Shabbat. And the most fun is preparing yourself a Shabbat treat, I also treat myself to something delicious for Shabbat
Makes it more special
Wow I just happened to come across your video. You are amazing, I’m literally in awe of you. How you do this weekly + work a full time job, raise kids, keep a beautiful clean home, laundry, food shopping… Wow! You truly are an inspiration.
Awww thank you so much ❤️ Jenni.
Yes, discuss “taking challah” ❤
Love that you share!
Looks so good I never knew about the food in different cultures looks so good.
Thank you for sharing this with us. I never grow tired of watching your videos.
Aww thank you so much Cathy
Shabbat Shalom to you and all your loved ones YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY CORRECT to prepare and include foods that you alone enjoy . . . because YOU yourself enjoy
Please 🙏 kindly continue posting 📫 your much appreciated videos
Will do thank you Julia
Thank you for sharing and yes I cook things for just me as well
I love making sumac and red onion salad with cucumbers and cherry tomatoes. I also make a variety of them each time. I do one with sumac and a dill and yogart and dill sauce with garlic and it's amazing when you add a little bulgur and aleppo pepper.
You make it all look so easy!
I love your video, Thanks for sharing. I love to learn. God Bless you
Hi Sonya, thank you for this video. It was more than the delicious recipes for me. Infinite blessings to you and your loving family.
Same to you! Thank you
I had my first Shabbat this weekend but on my own. I loved watching you cook.
Hope you enjoyed that’s amazing
You have it all down to a science and you are truly amazing!
Awww thank you, just doing my best
I cook my favorite foods all the time and freeze the leftovers to enjoy another day. You're not alone
Watching your videos makes me feel happy.
I love your videos. I always learn something. I would be very interested in learning about the blessing of the bread you did. I think it is very important to fix something special for yourself. We always make sure to fix our loved ones favorites, so we need to do the same for ourselves. Tomorrow night’s supper is going to be one of my favorites. Everyone else is just okay with it. I fix their favorites on a regular basis, so I don’t feel like I am asking that much from them to have one of mine once every month or two. I pray you have a blessed week and and a wonderful Shabbat this week.
So true Shawn! It’s practicing a little self care by putting out pallets into the equation occasionally
It’s been a while since I watched your vids, and as I remember your cooking always looks amazing. It’s the kind of food I would eat. Much love!
❤
I love your videos especially for Shabbat recipes. I also make things that I like to eat. We work hard for the family so we need to treat ourselves too. ❤
That's right Stephanie!
Absolutely make things that only you like as well as foods that your family likes, and I’ve been know to make the things that one or two that kids like. Our Christmas table will have smaller foods that certain people/ peoples like. I also try to make a little extras of what we each like so I have left overs if what I like, my husband likes, and the kids can take their leftovers home.
I am going to make challah tomorrow. Maybe 1/3 recipe. By the way I gave your channel to my husband's Catholic aunt. She is totally mesmerized by Jewish culture. Good shabbos .
I LOVE your videos new subie. Shabbat Shalom beautiful sister. I' m a mum of too Who is still settling down to have a wonderful Holy Shabbat preparation routine. Thank you for sharing 🙏
Love eggplant! What a good way to prepare.
I enjoy your recipes and the thought and love that goes into meals and festivities. I modify them, no sugars, for my own family. We are a savory not sweet bunch. I appreciate that you make every dish so approachable.
Wonderful! that makes me so happy
Amazing amazing video!!! You are an awesome woman in that home! God bless you!
I love your Shabot videos, hope you had a blessed Shabot Sonya!

Missed you too
Excellent video Have a wonderful week and a peaceful shabbat.
Aww such good cook,, thanks so much your videos
Agreed that chef should make things she alone enjoys! We do so much for our families, we deserve to treat ourselves to things we like to make and eat.
I use sumac for a Saladin with radiccio and oranges. I love it.
Mmmm
BRAVA !!
Thank You, very interesting !
I love your videos. You sure do inspire me to make different dishes. I've tired some of your dishes and we love it! I have to attempt to make sourdough bread. It's one of our favorite breads. Thank you 😊.
My pleasure
A very relaxing video! Thank you xx
I am currently doing a Bible reading plan to read through the entire Christian Bible in a year. I am currently reading Leviticus, so I am reading the ancient laws that Orthodox Jews adhere to I have a much greater appreciation for the way you and your family live and the laws you live by However I have so many questions! Thank you for your wonderful channel

Thank you for having a rabbi respond I am so looking forward to learning more 🤗
I absolutely agree with you. I will make something that I like as well as what everyone else would eat.
yes!!
This is my first video on your channel as a new subscriber. I have just been it in some comments from Sara Malki's channel - Frum it up. I am awestruck by your amazing and glorious work. I have much to learn from you.
Hi, Sonya. Beautiful video, as always. I so enjoy and appreciate the joy you have for caring for your family. Thank you for the Blueland discount code. I just placed an order for two hand soap dispensers and some additional hand soap tablets. I've wanted to try them, for a while and figured... why not? Have a happy evening. :)
Just found your channel and it is awesome! ❤ Thank you for sharing. G-D’s blessings.
Thanks for watching
Delish! I’d love to see a video on the dough blessing.
Impressive array of food! What an enormous amount of work you do for your family. You are creating warm memories for your children!
Thank you so much! My mom did the same and I have amazing memories from that a swell.
@@SonyasPrep you need to come up with a Shabbat cook book!! I’d buy one!
Thank you for sharing.
I have tried your fish recipes, and they came out beautifully. Thank you for sharing.

You always amaze me.
I love to see that all the food is home made.
Holà. En mi familia no somos judíos pero creemos que debemos guardar las fiestas de Adonai, celebramos Shabbat y me encantan tus recetas y quiero hacerlas en un futuro. ❤ gracias por compartir Shalom
I'd enjoy a video about the "taking challah", hopefully others have asked for it. I'll go look and see if another video has been posted on this practice.
I love your channel! I would love to learn more about Hafrashat Challah!
I love watching your vidoes and wait every week for the new one.
Could you please show a video of how do you clean for shabbat.
The cleaning and laundry takes for me the most time while I prep for shabbat...
Thank you
I enjoy your channel so much.
And yes you are intitled to make food you like also. Not only your family!!! You are a special person and deserve to eat what you like too😁
Awesome....i really appreciate
