When people talk shit about chariot generals, they have no idea how easily they take out cav in general and opposing generals in particular.
(It's also why scythed chariots are amazing. Even if their only function was to delete enemy generals, they'd still be worth it)
Thanks for the comment. True, though imo it has good grounds when AI commands them :)
@@Xander77Ru not the only function tho. Their scare nearby infantry trait makes it a good flanking unit. With enough of them you can even blitz through enemy front line. It's quite fun.
Greek bodyguards being "Very well armored" and "Armour-piercing" Cataphract unit. This went as I expected it would. A straight up curbstomp.
That summarizes it rather well :) Thanks for the comment.
Chariots, the fun units that say they counter infantry and lose to cavalry, but actually get annihilated by infantry and destroy all cavalry
Yea, that is rather funny :D Thanks for the comment.
Quite the expected result, cav can only beat chariots by swarming them with sheer numbers. With small formations like these, chariots were obviously going to take the win
Rather impressive from the Chariots :) Thanks for the comment.
OG chariots on move shredding any amount of cavalry due to their "knockdown effect" that work as instant death for cavalry, swarming them as effective as 20 pajama boys swarming berserkers
@@ormallen8644 thats not true
Let's see Britons Warlord vs Egyptian Chariot
Indeed we will :) Thanks for the comment.
Unsurprisingly, Chariots dominated. The luck of knockdown animation causing automatic death of cavalry units makes Chariots completely broken
Yea, they are really good vs cav :) Thanks for the comment.
Well Egypt gets a huge slap in the face when their Generals get downgraded to the new Cav
Yea, that is rather interesting mechanic :) Thanks for the comment.
The britons sneaking the win by haveing units almost twice the size of the epyptians lol. Same kill numbers though for the last battle
Agreed on that :) Thanks for the comment.
Having Chariots fight in this battle is pretty unfair, given that they are natural counters to cavalry.
Thats like having all generals fight Phalanx units, the chariots would just get destroyed.
Also I don`t get why early generals are fighting late generals... the tournament should be split IMO, without chariots.
Thanks for the comment. Well, the audience wish was for General units. Thus, the Chariots were included :)
@@newname4941 Well, the Egyptians did rather well, and imo the Early Eastern General was interesting because of the missile attacks it has :) Thanks for the comment.
called it
Well done :) Thanks for the comment.
Never thought chariots would be that overwhelming...
Yea, they are rather impressive :) Thanks for the comment.
Wouldn't it be more fair if cav with sword alt attack should use it, since eastern generals/cataphracts use it?
Thanks for the comment. Yea are right. At the same time, it would not have affected the results per se but some battles would have been closer :)
It's always been bizarre to me that chariots counter cavalry, it seems very ahistorical as I always thought chariots were anti-infantry not anti cavalry.
Yea, agreed on that. :) Thanks for the comment.
chariots were obsolete by the time of the Roman Republic. only a few people still used them. Last major use was by the Persians against the Macedonians and later J. Ceaser reports them being used by the Britons.
Chariots were mainly just used before true cavalry existed, Persians did try to use them as anti-infantry but failed.
first!
Very lovely video!
Thank You and congrats :)
Extremely common cataphract W
Cataphract? Chariot.
@@micahbonewell5994 I was talking about the TRUE general's bodyguards, not the fake cavalry units known as chariots.
@@hammer3721 bro, are you a chariot denier!?
:) Thanks for the comment.
What about the carthagenian general?
Thanks for the comment. I guess rather on par with Greek, Roman and Gaul counter-parts. It was left out since 8 units is kind of an optimal amount for a small tournament :)
@@qualityoldgames7721 Should have replaced the two Chariot Generals because of how broken they are and removed the early Eastern General to stay with the theme of the rest being Late and just put the Carthaginian, Pontic, and Scythian General in.
Once again used secondary weapon on catas and not anyone else to guarantee them a victory...
Thanks for the comment. Well, the Cata secondary is clearly the most effective. Agreed, that others could have fared a bit better but it would not have affected the end result. And Eastern Armoured Bodyguards did not win. :)
👀
:) Thanks for the comment.
Yessss best general won 😂
:D Thanks for the comment.
Chariots in Rome1 are so... clunky. OP but very clunky
Agreed :) Thanks for the comment.
