As an OG Mac girl who went away from the brand for a while, they have been killing it lately. The new foundations, reformulating hero products to actually be better, the damn nozzle on fix+ and now some fan-service?! Whoever is in charge over there needs a raise.

Horror in the summer is actually a very OLD concept in the US. Before air-conditioning was in homes, people went to see the newest horror in the summer theater where they had air-conditioning.
Sponge applicators are GREAT for shimmers and glitters! Any soft formula goes great with them. It shows up like a finger swatch on your lid. Seriously!
To be honest over glamlite, I hate this new Chucky collection feels very Claires to box of crayons play makeup for elementary school.

I'm 49 years old. Been into makeup as long as I can remember. Drove my older sister crazy. I only used an eyeshadow brush for the first time after finding the youtube beauty community in 2017ish. I always used the the sponge tipped tools in the pallets.

Regarding indie brands shutting down, have you noticed Kaleidos hasn't released makeup in almost a year in August, I'm worried because I love their stuff so so much, I hope they're preparing something new and exciting, like your palette.

Not sure if this has to do with it, but I noticed they expanded into a lot of retailers in Asia and in places that sell Asian make up in the US. So maybe they are scaling up their business.
I think, they shut themselves in the leg with that last release. Wrong marketing was very confusing. I have no problems with them releasing a collection targeted towards people with lighter skin tones as their location has trends regarding that and I also think that there’s enough brands respectfully offering a lot of things for midtones and darker tones (which I wouldn’t be able to use exactly because I’m too pale find a light lipstick enough that doesn’t look like any kind of colour on me), however, it WAS hella confusing to send that collection in the pr to all the usual reviewers with very various skin tones. 👀 I can get it, if they’d want to switch the gears and focus more on the local marketing, but then don’t send your products to people who on the most part won’t be able to review them or will give a bad review as they simply don’t get why such thing was sent to them in the first place. Like, most of the people weren’t able to use the collection.
Also, several releases before that one were quite neutral in general. Again - people who found the brand loved it for the quality brightness they offered, therefore, usual buyer wasn’t interested in those anymore, especially, when they come out one after another. For a colourful brand to drop out smth neutral is very wise as it attracts different part of customers, but if it’s such a switch, then those who were there for the colourful colourstories will plainly go and find them somewhere else.
I do hope that they have smth in their sleeve for both sides, otherwise, the brand will be forgotten, and even if they will release smth fun and new, there won’t be really anyone interested in it as the brand might plainly be forgotten. 😶
@@queenofwales_They clearly changed who they even want to market too. They've been actively getting into the Chinese and wider East and South East Asian make up market and people in Asia think they're a Chinese brand. They've been sending lots of PR to Chinese influencers

At this point I think GlamLite is all about the packaging and accessories when it comes to a collab. But I'm still excited what they'll be doing in the future.
Ya I was loving that they had great packaging and great makeup when they started doing horror collabs but then the quality of each horror release got worse so I’m not as excited now. I will continue to buy for packaging and if we get the good quality, it’ll be a bonus lol
I am in the I WANT THOSE BAGS boat..I actually really like this collection BUT I agree with you. I grew up in the early '90's; ALL these movies are beloved childhood memories for me. My son loves Chucky too.
Yes, every Glamlite palette recently has looked the same. Red, green, blue, red, green, blue, maybe a splotch of black, silver, purple, but always, red, green, blue.
Those little sponge applicators can be useful to apply certain glitters and sparkly shades, but not for the whole look. I have a huda beauty palette which 2 specific shimmers that are best applied with sponge applicators!
Brush? Too soft, almost nothing transfers to the lid.
Finger? Nothing goes on the lid, all stays on the finger.
Sponge applicator? Yes! Perfect application xD
I use sponge-tip applicators to pack eyeshadow on my eyelids. They work better for me than a brush. Minimal fallout and it packs on as much or as little as you want.
I like to have them for touch ups and travel
I use to use them a lot back in the day as I got them along with some Avon or Oriflame shadows. 😃 And some 10-13 years ago I thought that I’ll never get why to use actual brushes. 😂 These days I can’t imagine my life without the brushes, however, I have fond memories of those things, and I agree that they function good. I was able to do an entire eye makeup with those tools and never understood, why people were dissing them so much. 😃

I used to use the applicators in compacts. They do a decent job. The older consumers use them too. My mom doesn’t own brushes.
I think for me personally one of the reasons I am tired of all of these collabs, especially from glamlite, is because it became about the packaging and not the makeup! Yes their packaging is cute and everything.. But how many cute packaged makeup with meh color stories do we need, before it becomes too much? I feel like they are killing their brand this way because eventually people are gonna be sick of bombardment of collabs.. Hipdot used to do that and where are they now?
I think what killed Hipdot was the MCR collab debacle…
In the spooky community, we start buying Halloween stuff in July. Mostly decor. So Glamlite isn't off. Horror films are year-round. I understand you hate them.

In my country Halloween is not THAT popular as I’d love it to be, but I can get the preparation for it in July. For us I’ve seen Christmas decorations appearing for sale a week or two before Halloween and has been annoyed by that a lot. Like, let one seasonal festivity to end before jumping into another one! 🤦🏼♀️😂 Christmas madness gets a long run, I do understand, why people would want to start preparation for Halloween a lot earlier - simply to enjoy that time and the given vibe. 🎃
I also always laugh that if that would be at any point appropriate, enthusiasts of Christmas would start it right after the Midsummer (which is huge here) or even would skip it all. 🤡 That’s why sometimes after the New Year I’m, like: “So, how many days now till Midsummer..?” 😆

I used to be really sceptical about double cleansing, I thought it was just a regular capitalist scam to make me buy more products. But I was blown away just how much EASIER it is to get makeup off my face with a cleansing oil and following up with a regular face wash. I don't really get breakouts but I remember having makeup stains in my pillows because regular face washes just don't do a really good job at lifting the makeup of your skin.

Double cleansing is required for water resistant sunscreen, whether or not you wear makeup. If I don’t properly wash my face after wearing sunscreen, I’ll break out and I don’t otherwise break out anymore.

I absolutely agree about cleansing balms being weirdly unavailable at an affordable price. I hated the Cerave one (literally smelled like butter), and the Inkey List one is thick like Neosporin, and hard to rinse off. I sort of wish the Garnier one was more in the $10-$12 range, but I'm still glad to see it.
Korean cleansing balms are the BEST 🎉😊
Honest beauty i THINK has a good one; That is the brand that pops into my head- I also use Elf.. again the pricing for EVERYTHING these days and more if you are in Canada like I am
Elf has a decent one that's probably in the $10-12 USD range.
The Korean cleansing balms are good, but I have discovered that Nutiva coconut oil works beautifully. No breakouts whatsoever. I realize coconut oil isn’t for everyone, but it had worked well for me over the years, and costs sooo much less!

Glamlite is now a pretty well established brand. It’s time for them to now settle down and come up with their own original brand aesthetic. The IP collabs are getting ridiculous, though I must admit I would DIE for Jem & The Holograms collection!

I’m sure Glamlite could knock it out of the park with that one. I’d just love to see Jem & the Holograms get some real love in the makeup world and at least it makes more sense than some of these other IP collabs.
I love MAC Go Play blushes I am 43 years old and I can pop these on my cheeks and they have a blurring effect. I almost didn’t get these because applying them with my finger from the store didn’t show how great they were. Using a small foundation blush to apply them shows the beauty of them. I have “So Natural” and “Blush Please”. I will probably purchase one of their new colors.

I woke up at 2am to purchase BEAUTY BAY palette and I love the color story! I can’t help but feel like they dropped the ball by not doing a full reveal prior to launch.
I purchased so much from Looxi over the years and I’ve seen a lot of people complaining about the customer service, but it has always been fantastic for me. Till this. Unfortunately I don’t think I’m gonna get my last order. I hope she is alright! I know this wasn’t a preorder but this whole situation has made me really reconsider pre-orders.
I don’t use makeup everyday and still double cleansing solved my blackhead acne issue. I barely suffer from that. Angie is correct in that one.
It's funny what you said about the applicators in makeup because I used to think the same, like why are they still doing this? But a few years ago I went on a trip and I forgot to pack my makeup brushes. Thankfully I had makeup that came with applicators. I had one of the Chanel blushes that had a brush, an eye shadow quad from Tom Ford that also had applicators and a powder from Givenchy that came with a puff. I was able to do my makeup perfectly fine without having to purchase brushes. It actually worked so well, I don't travel with brushes anymore, I just take makeup that comes with applicators.
I'm so over glamlite. Everything is a collab. They are completely devoid of ideas at this point.

The applicators in luxury palettes are for most part better than the cheap ones from the drugstore. They last much longer too. Chanel, Cle de Peau and Dior usually provide very practical brushes.

I ordered from Looxi years ago and those shadows were the biggest disappointment I’ve ever purchased so not surprised by this news

Usually PPle Put out Holiday releases three months ahead of time. So GlamLite is right on time seeing as October is three months out. ;) Plus for us spooky gals like myself we do Halloween year round.

My last order with them hasn't shipped either. Hoping they didn't just take our money and run. They just didn't/won't communicate at all with their customers 😢😢 Prior to this order I had no issues with shipping or product quality.
I am very much into horror and spooky things, but that Chucky collection is such a let down… It feels like a collab we would have seen for wet and wild or something cheaper… 🙃

I double cleanse morning and night. I usually use an oil. I massage the oil around problem areas and it gently removes dryness, sebaceous filaments, milia and assorted bumps and red marks. It also cleanses sunscreen and makeup thoroughly in the evening.

You don’t need the Kayali vacation set- it’s got zero staying power
They revealed and released the Beautybay palette called botanical. And it’s legit a neutral palette with a slight colour pop. But it doesn’t scream botanical or fun and different.
Nor does it scream wild 😂
It’s sitting in a cart for me, I can’t justify buying a palette for a few multi shift shades 😅 but I’ve been collecting bb palettes since wilderness which is the best one they’ve made and then the Smokey palette

It is a nice palette, but kinda unnecessary release for BB cuz they've already got Earthy and Wilderness. Those two have kinda same idea, but their colour stories have more variety. I also agree, these shades are not Botanical, nor have anything to do with sneak peak pictures.
The palette reminds me a bit of Nudetrals from Cosmic Brushes, so maybe Botanical could be a cute option for those who are not able to get it.
This Chucky collection is on theme with the colors in the 1st movie. It’s one of those things that if you get it you get it. At this point let’s just accept this is what Glamlite has become 🤷🏻♀️

My absolute all time favorite shadow is from Looxi, it’s so so sad they imploded.
Speaking on the double cleanse.. also a double shampoo on hair wash day can be a game-changer too.. if someone has trouble with product buildup and/or has thin/fine hair.. trust me- every once and awhile, once a week or whatever works for you (I wouldn’t do this every day because I think you inevitably will make your hair very oily.. but I only wash my hair twice a week and my hair really was only oily when I over-washed it when I was a teenager).. do a double wash.. like shampoo, rinse, shampoo, rinse, conditioner, so-on.

Thank you for showing the comparison with little ghost. Sometimes it's hard to tell how similar or not it is when you don't have it side by side. Exactly like you said, i'll buy every yellow, orange and green on the market but on the rare occasion i wear something blue or purple, i can do with just your little ghost palette.❤

33:04 I agree. I use grapeseed oil, then a cosrx cica cleanser. Usually the cleanser twice. Also eye shadow removed by a bioderma type k brand cleanser first.
Me too! Grapeseed oil isn't heavy, dissolves any makeup/SPF and it's inexpensive. I follow with Avene XeraCalm lipid replenishing cleansing oil (which isn't oil, it's a creamy gel).

I think the Good Guy dolls were a spin off of a real doll that was marketed to boys in the 80s called "My Buddy". Then they came out with a girl version called Kid Sister.

I think at this point Glamoite does packing the best. I don't buy from them for their products but the packaging. I'm just waiting for their Michael Myers collection
