- We travel into the northern lakes of Quetico Provincial Park for a few days of beautiful views and some windy paddling. Joining us this time were my brother Matt and his puppy Lucy 🖤 (who both did awesome on their first ever canoe trip!)
I feel pretty lucky that we were able to go on this trip given the wildfire situation in Northern Ontario. We will have to get back soon when its safe and do a longer trip, deeper into the park, checking out some of the southern areas that were closed.
Thank you as always to my subscribers and everyone who watches my videos! I appreciate your support ✌

It’s nice to have positive female nature out in the woods. It uplifts the spirit of men.
Nice video. Well done. Thank you for doing this.
It’s good to see you in the stern of the canoe. Plus I saw how you got the canoe on your back with a pack already on. Well done.
Rachel, there is a rare 5-star campsite right on Batchewaung Lake just after your portage you took from Nym. It’s just East of the portage on the mainland where the portage is, on a point to the right of the portage, if you are looking at the map. Very nice. Not right next to the portage, but nearby.
Great video, been there many times, fishing is excellent there,I never go during a fire ban, would miss the camp fire, anyway thanks for sharing 😊
Rach, loved your narration of the trip. So authentic! Thanks for "taking us along."
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed the video 🙂✌️
So glad this popped up and glad to subscribe. The narrative was awesome and the some of the subtitles had me laughing! The best trip memories are sometimes the hard parts...at least for me.
Y'all are lucky to get to do it together.
Beautiful scenery!
Thanks for taking us along - we did WCPP in 2019 and hope to do Quetico soon.
Looks like such a fun time!
Thanks Emma! It was awesome and I can't wait to go back!! 🙌
That's a nice park! We also got there when the fire ban was on, and wind can be a big factor on some lakes.
Now that we have gone once we can't wait to get back!
I’m jealous. We had a permit for Sept 8 put in at Nym. But being from the States, getting a group coordinated on COVID requirements was quite complicated. Then the fires closed the backcountry. Maybe next year.
You need to try a hammock, then those rocky sites are not an issue. You only need two trees.
Aww that's a bummer! The boarder rules are always changing so hopefully next year you can make it up 🙂 We were so lucky to have made it out before the wildfire closure. It was closed a few days after we left.
Good call on the hammock, I've thought about trying one out eventually!
Thanks for taking the time to make this. Only ever been on the US side aka BWCA (or as you say, “Merica”) but would love to see how it compares.
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks! Such a cool area and I'd definitely like to check out more of it! 🇨🇦🇺🇲
Quetico is in Southern Ontario.
Got the feeling of a lack of group camaraderie . In vids with a solo canoer ( a male usually) there's always a split. But with a sibling team its still there.
How do you have so little stuff? Your canoes are nearly empty
1. Quetico is South West Ontario northern Ontario is Hudson Bay. A 4000 km difference.
2. Tump line, been used for 12,000 years every pack and canoe needs a tump line.
awesome videos
