Ferrari 308 GTB Group 4 || "CLICK-CLACK" Manual Gearbox & Flat-Out Driving

- This beautiful machine is the Ferrari 308 GTB Group 4 that was built and raced by Romanian racing driver Horatiu Ionescu Cristea. Using up until 2013, here we it was attacking Trofeul Sinaia Hillclimb. And given its soundtrack and the Onboard action featuring some delicious classic Ferrari manual transmission action, what a pleasure it is!
Not an original Group 4 Car, it started life as a regular ´77 Ferrari 308 GTB, being then transformed by Mr. Cristea until it reached his "dream-spec". so what we have here is a dry-sumped 3.0L Ferrari F106 AB V8 engine using carburettors, tuned by Formula GT to reach 320Hp/8.000Rpm in Naturally Aspirated form. In its Hillclimb-spec it benefitted from a specially custom-built exhaust and fibergalss panels to reach a final weight of 1050Kg.
Apart from all this, it is pretty exact replica of the Group 4 car, taken to the maximum of its capabilities. Should not be confused with the Group b homologated 308 (which used a 4 valve per cylinder engine opposed to 2 and a narrower body) although probably superior in performance at that point. - Auta a dopravní prostředky

2) That car just seems so alive, it must be incredibly fun to drive.

In an age where pneumatic gear shift actuation and dual clutch transmissions reign with great prominence it’s a breath of fresh air to what a video that captures this nostalgia; glory days ❤️
That´s the magic of Hillclimb racing. Builds like this are not found racing at 10/10ths anywhere else...

That driver's shifting and counter-steer is silky smooth, he makes it look effortless. And excellent footage of that awesome drive as usual!

Ferrari used to make cars that were about the experience like this. The 308 means it has a 3.0 liter V8. This is also a GTB. "B" Standing for berlinetta. I've seen a 308 GTS one time. Magnum P.I. had a GTS. This is what "car porn" looks like. Thank God I know how to drive a manual transmission. It's becoming a dieing skill. Thank you.

I never realized how steering was used just fight combat the effect of the rear tires. Driver needs a cupholder for his Slurpee or Big Gulp. He could drill an access hole for the straw as Dick Trickle did in his helmet so he could smoke. Thanks for posting the vid.
As much as I love everything about this, watching the car keys sway back and forth due to the g force is something else.... Like I'm imagining what it must feel like to be thrown around at high speed.

Honestly one of my favorite Ferrari . 308 is kinda like a no bs car. You have enough to make it comfy for long drives but the other 90% is for performance.
