And it's $80+. Value matters and should be talked about, even if just for a minute.

I've bought the metal edition and I've been massively enjoying it. At the end of each game I get an amazing feeling, you can't wait to find out who was controlling whom and if your guess was correct. Even when you lose, you think of all the things you should have done differently and "next time, I..." There is something special with this game, and while it's not perfect (color issues), it's more than just very good. It's excellent.

Just a head's up: there's a current Kickstarter with a $20 fix for previous backers for the metal color thing. (And a great expansion on offer.)

No mention of rumble in the dungeon?

I just ordered this from IV...looks good. I hope it's worth the $100...if anyone is wondering about Tom's pronunciation of 'encaspulate' it is the classic occurrence of a metathesis, switching two sounds in a word..interesting

To me, this thing's worth 100.00!

Only got to "approved" huh? Harsh! Sounded like your review is RIGHT in line with my impressions of this game! I personally don't like it with "pairs" of players, but overall it's a solid good experience that sticks in your head and will get off the shelf again and again.
I think "excellent" is within reach on this one. Nope, not amazing, but it doesn't try to be more than it is, and it's really good at what it is!

We played this as UKGE this last week. Had a great time of it. We compared it to War of Whispers.

Which would you say is better? I’m looking into both haha

@@zaboomba6635 I'd say that even though both games have both social and mechanical deception, Veiled Fate leans more on socially deceiving your opponents and War of Whispers relies more on you doing feints on the board. Also, at lower player counts War of Whispers is better, you may still have people around the table who are working with you. In Veiled Fate you need to have a higher player count before there will be somebody around the table who is definitely on your side.

Anybody got any preference or input when compared to War of Whispers? I have been checking out both, but might only get one of them.

I've played the War of Whipers more times and the Veiled fate only one time. I like both games but I've found the War of Whipers is a crazy damn good game and the Veiled fate after one game a very good game. If you have a group of 4 players than without thinking I would go for the War of Whipers.

I personally have hosted the 6 and 8 player games multiple times and enjoy it. Oddly enough majority of the games a demigod that no team control takes the lead. Ive also managed to stay hidden most games by allowing my team mate make the aggresive moves while i work on sabotaging teams that are ahead.

I enjoyed this game the 2 times I played it. I only wish each round you got an additional card to start so you could do more of the cool abilities.

The God powers are SO strong, they have a strong cost too! I've thought a lot about this and don't mind the heavy sacrifice to do a God power :)

This feels like a spiritual cousin to King's Dilemma, and even has the gold/black/white/grey color palette and graphic design.

How do you not mention the terribly similar colors they used?? The models are way to close in color.

The normal game as the colour aid sheet shows has very different colours. The metal one does seem very mixed and similar in colour.

You don't draw a quest to replace except between ages or the game would last way too long.

I would argue that it is quite a bit like Kremlin. Not that this is a bad thing.

I thought this game was underwhelming. Lots of fluff but not much substance.

Man, that is one ugly game. Hard to look at! But yikes, coin flips and voting? No, just no.
