You said you chose this version as Mick was in his prime, I would disagree as seen Simply Red many times and last year in 2022 his voice sounded the best ever with a warm richness.

I love Simply Red and this is one of their most fantastic songs.
I have never seen this live version before and I do know the original also I'm a major Teddy Pendergrass fan my favorite song of all time is love TKO by Teddy and I recently found a great live version and it's beautiful but Simply Red delivered on every level I have been rocking both songs for more years than I care to remember😅😅😅

Love Simply Red Mick H has a stunning voice and the band has great musicianship with a brilliant variety of instruments so their music is much more interesting than average bands. Seeing them live here in NZ is one of the great joys in my life.

Wow. You've been missing out. But better late than never. I used to listen to adult top 40 radio as a kid when I was a kid so songs like this one are ingrained in my soul. And Sunday driving music to church was the oldies so I'm also fond of the original.
I’m 72 and Red is voice is stronger very rare I love his music and when he sing other songs he got so much soul we use to call him Blue Eyes Soul Brother❤❤❤❤

Possibly one of my top 10 favourite artists. It's rare that I often feel that much when I hear music but every day time when I hear his voice. As far as I know he still does live shows with his band Simply Red, at least in UK, what I know he still sounds absolutely fantastic and specially as he's not a young man anymore.

Mick used to drink in the pub my dad ran, we lived in the area he grew up in. I’ve been lucky enough to see him and the band a few times and can say that he was particularly good in the 90s. Let’s just say no man should be able to do those moves without someone being there to thoroughly enjoy them (😜 😜). As for his voice, it makes the hairs on your arms and neck stand on end,, so full of passion

In the early 70’s I was the head bouncer in one of larger “disco’s, Harold Melvin and the blue notes was the band this night. One of my bouncers walked up to me and said We have a problem, I asked what the problem was, he said Harold Melvin is not here. So I walked up to one of the band members setting and asked where he was and this band member said “oh he’s home sick”I asked what are you going to do? He replied just use the other drummer. It was Teddy I was talking to. What a beautiful man and great singer.

Hi Harri, its well worth checking out his Live in Cuba DVD or any clips. His vocals are effortless with incredible mic control. He is backed by a number of local musicians who put the ice on the cake. All in all an enjoyable Concert that's well worth a night in's viewing.

He have done a few albums but not much. Saw him live 20 years ago in Copenhagen. During the concert the mic broke down. MIck asks if we mind he would continue without the microphone...so he did. You could not tell the difference....very powerful voice.

He had 3 top 100 singles between '88 and '90 with Talk It Over charting the highest at #19. He also had 2 songs featured in the movie Thelma And Louise and one song in the movie Fried Green Tomatoes.
