- The Vsett 9+ is a high quality eScooter with plenty of power and speed for your daily commute. With its dual motors, and front and back suspension, it’s a great alternative to an Ebike. I purchased mine from Rev Rides about 5 months ago and I absolutely love it!

Not only have I saved on gas, but with traffic, the bike lanes are often faster saving me time as well. With a top speed of 35 mph I can confidently keep up with the cars. And the headlights, turn signals and break lights make me feel safe when I am riding on the streets.
The overall construction is solid and the dual 650 watt motors give this a lot of pep. Having suspension on the front and back also makes this a blast to pop curbs and dip into corners. And even though the 8.5 inch wheels are small the 3 inch tire width makes it feel stable and secure.
With the ability to switch between single and dual motor, and several gear options, it’s a product that can grow with you, and you won’t have to worry about outgrowing it. So if you are considering an electric scooter I would highly recommend the Vsett 9+.

I purchased a 9+ 6 weeks ago from RevRides. I have to say your video is 100% accurate. Right down to the slime tire stem extension. Funny I also have the Crank Brothers multi - tool. And the first thing I purchased was a 1000 lumen light from Amazon which also sells the other upgrades. I also replaced the rotor bolts as well. I could have made the exact same video. Thing is it took me 3 weeks of research to come up with all this information I could have saved myself the time by watching this video. In addition, I purchased a portable electric air pump that is great for maintaining the tires which must be kept at 50 psi, or a pinch flat will develop but with the split rims it's an easy fix.

@@TrailSage when you change a flat on split rims make sure you use Vaseline on the tube before you put it together otherwise you will have a pinch flat 100% of the time

My new carbon bars just arrived today so I will be switching that out soon too. Have you thought about upgrading to hydraulic brakes? That is my next move.
@@TrailSage I am definitely thinking about that. It is next on my list. I was reading a post from someone who upgraded to hydraulic brakes and he loved them but there was a small obstacle in that he needed an adapter of some sort. He didn’t go into detail but I am going to search for the information on AliExpress shouldn’t be too difficult to do. Hardest thing would be deciding which brakes to use. I hear a lot of people use Zoom. Any bike shop should have them as well. Take care be safe Scott
Would sliming the tires prevent flats ? Thanks for any info. I’m deciding between one of these or a one wheel and with all the negatives I keep seeing on scooters I’m leaning one wheel.
I had that trouble too with jerkiness, until I went into P settings:
To resolve the Jerky speed you need to go into the P settings
P12 is the one you want to adjust
I set it to 3, by default it was on 5
Acceleration strength. 1 softest, 5 hardest.

Happy to see such a detailed review of this super underrated scooter. Mine’s at over 1,000 miles now with zero issues. One thing buyers should be aware of though is about the fenders. They are just trash in the rain and every time I ride in even a light rain, my pants are soaking wet to my waist. But otherwise I love my Vsett 9+. You get used to the jerkiness and just go a little softer on the throttle, and I personally love the folding handle bars, super useful when you have to leave your scooter at the barbers or some other place so it doesn’t take up too much space.
1000 miles with no issues is saying something! As for the fenders, I have not had many issues, but I also try not to ride in the rain. Regarding the bars, I actually ordered some solid bars and will be upgrading to them very soon. Thank you so much for the comment and feedback.

Good video. A couple of errors in your list of complaints, however. The ‘jerky’ low speed take off is correctable by adjusting the P12 setting (User manual, page.19). It’s adjustable between 1-5, default setting 3. Set it to 1. The need for a steering damper is obviated to some extent by a central notch in the steering. I have never encountered steering wobble at top speed by using this notch (only in a straight line, obviously) where most steering wobble occurs.
Thanks for the feedback. I'm sorry I did not mention it in the video, but I have experimented with my P12 settings. I have it set to low and still feel the power should be delivered in a more linier way. And regarding the speed wobble I have resolved that issue by switching to wider carbon bars and lighter grips.
@@TrailSage It’s odd, I don’t have either of those issues on mine. I have the 19.2AH version which, I am assured are LG cells but I can’t think that would be the problem. Maybe we just have different releases.

I spent a month ordering different tools to try to get the stripped bolts out. At first I ordered a Klien ball Allen wrench and the ball snapped and got stuck in the head. I ordered a quality allen wrench set, no good. I ordered 2 different tools to try to get stripped bolts out and I tried to drill them out. I ended up cutting the entire brake rotor off with a Dremel. HELL experience. Honesty you do not even need rear brakes. All it does it lock up the wheels and you burn your tires out quicker, as they skid. Front brakes only works decent. Set an alarm clock every 2 weeks to keep the air at 45-50 psi or you will get flats over and over. This is the worst part of this scooter.
I also added a cup holder. I never used the blinkers so I disconnected them and changed the grips. Added a light. Adjusted the throttle position. I tried adding end mirrors, yet mirrors do not work that well, as they constantly move from the vibrations and they add too much width to the scooter. Get a decent reusable shopping bag and this is great for picking up groceries. I just walk it in the store and never get complaints, although a few stores complained. Mostly old ladies who stand in front of the front door say shit. I got kicked out once for ignoring them, as if they let huge mobility scooters in, what the heck is the different if I walk my scooter around a store. Liability is still the same.
I got a portable manual air pump. No reason to get an electric one, as it is expensive Chinese crap and if it fails you are screwed. Hand pump fills it up fast. Make sure you get one that fits the valve as the valve adaptor they give you will break right away...It is junk.
Buy tubes in advance. Do not use an impact driver. Take your time with the nuts. DO NOT put too much lock tight on them. Be careful to get right size bolts when replacing. Vasoline, Slime. Buy a metal valve remover, as the Slime cap one could break, as it did for me.
I got 375 Miles the first rear tire before a flat. 40 Miles next flat, as I did not keep the PSI up. Hopefully I get more this time around. Hopefully the front tire stay good for a while. Kind of a pain ordering the 90 degree tubes as they do not sell them everywhere.
The do make solid tires without tubes, but I heard they slow you down and they also need to get replaced when they ware out. Plus they are expensive.
They definitely should make the tire changing experience better. They definitely need a redesign to prevent pinch flats. I would not stick with this brand next scooter I buy, mostly because of the tire design.
All good points Mickey. I'm sorry you had to go through that bolt issue. I gave up and took it to my bike shop and they got them out for me. Hopefully they watch this review and switch all of them to torques bolts.
I do agree with your view of the Vsett9+ (minus the handlebars) the only issues I had out of the 2000miles I done was stem creaks and a couple of flats (with tire slime even) which was a pain and it does seem that everything about the scooter is real easy to assemble and fix however I have had a fair few knots and bolts shear on me 😡which I wish they would try and use steal instead of aluminum.
I now ride my Vsett9+ as if it was a Vsett8 I have a pneumatic tire for the front and a solid for the back which keeps things urm... interesting to say the least 😱 but it works for me as of now what I'm trying to sus is the fender as I keep getting covered in mud probably through the design of the solid rubber tire that I have installed I also removed the kick stand as for some reason mine just refuses to stand at all the slightest breeze knocked mine over one time and cracked my controller so I thought it was pointless and way too close to the rear motor wire. I'm going to swap my front tire out for an 8.5x3 off road. This scooter is perhaps the best design of the start of luxury dual motors and suspension =) imo if you look after it 👍

@@TrailSage Try not to stress about flats... I think I've just been unlucky with mine as they were both at parts that just never made sense even after when I inspected the tire both were inner tube tears. Honestly it sounds bad but you learn things along the way. These are first generation of Vsett scooters Im sure that Vsett will improve if you take Apollo for example and what they're updating the Phantom to VII and VIII shortly and their new City and Explore gives me faith that Vsett will bounce back with some nice improvements IF.... they back track and improve. Thank you I hope it see's many more thousands of miles

I do not have a video on changing the bolts but I was considering doing one on changing flats. Sorry to hear you are having so many issues with the tires.

Just a heads up, the screw that they use to tie the external part of the handlebars to the internal part is super weak. If you find yourself needing to adjust it, you'll probably be damaging the screw and the internal part of the handlebars while doing so. This can result in a decent amount of play in the handlebars which feels exacerbated while traveling at top speed. I swear, the metal used for the internal handlebar is so soft you can peel it with your fingernails. I'd recommend having a spare handlebar ready to go whether that be a solid handlebar or a different kind of folding handlebar. By far, my least favorite thing about this scooter is the quality of metal in key places like the handlebar and the screws on the motor/wheel.

This is hands down the nicest looking scooter I've seen. But I dont think I could ever pay $1,200 for a scooter with tubed tires. Hopefully one day they make a tubeless version. Color scheme reminds me of my old AIM font back in the day

Had once a flat on a tubeless 10" front wheel.
Even without a motor, it was a hassle to remove the tire from the rim.
I also had recently my first flat (old tube) on the Vsett10+, split rims so tubes needed, but replacing the tube is so much easier than going straight for tubeless tires
Ah the tire system.. only thing that bugs me, if flat, especially around here in a rural area.
I tried an electric scooter once, and I struggled with the spurts of power as well. It made it hard to keep my balance!

alot of newer scooters have sine wave controllers witch make the scooter take off alot smoother and less jerky something for someone whos new and may think all scooters behave this way this is a older vsett scooter as the scooter industry is one that upgrades rapidly !

Hello, I have a big problem. Not even 200 km done with the Vsett9+ scooter and already 3 tires on the back. I also put anti-pan Slim solution and no change. The solution only works if I leave the scooter in place. If I get on it and walk 10 meters, it deflates on the spot. I'm only 75 kg, so I'm not too heavy. What advice can you give me? Is it profitable with a full tire on the back? What disadvantages can occur? Thank you for the answers.
Yes, I have one piece of advice that may help with flats. Adjust the rear suspension to allow for more bounce. I had mine set way too stiff and it was causing me to flat too. Hope that helps.

I will add another negative about the throttle, it is not positioned in a safe location with the brake next to it up top, a thumb throttle would be more like a motor bike and make for safer use.

Me who does in fact always ride with my front foot touching the base of the handlebar: I fucking knew I was nobody.
Anahi, there is nothing wrong with that. At high speeds I just feel it is safer to have your weight further back, it helps with traction and speed wobbles. If you found a position that works for you, that is all that matters.
@@TrailSage that's funny cuz my scooter I have now only tops out at 20mph but I have notice I personally feel safer having my toes just passed the base to the side so I can turn my foot into the base like a grip, if that makes sense. I have started to place my back foot slightly onto the wheel guard, Im not suppose to have weight on it so I try to keep off it but the Vsett 11 is what I want to upgrade to after riding a friends 9 😭

Its the size of the battery. The 19.2 will last longer than the 15.6. Hope that helps.

My apologies, but I'm not sure I understand your question. If you are asking what the top speed is, for single motor it is 25-27 mph (40-43 kmh) and in dual motor the top speed is 33-35 mph (53-56 kmh). Hope that helps.

) 9+ can be slightly "underpowered" in rare circumstances, or better lets say its "overloaded" when going fast for longer. 10+ has no effort in doing 40 km/h continous and on nearly every hill.
) price/performance, you get so much more (bigger battery, better suspension, more confort,...)
Hello, I recently bought this Vsett9+ scooter. I saw that at position P03: Voltage level: 24V, 36V, 48V, 52V, 60V. What do these voltages mean? If I set 24V or 60V, is there any change in the way the scooter is used? Does it change the degree of battery wear? Do they increase their performance at the maximum range to approach the range indicated by the manufacturer? And there is one more thing, at position 10, 13, 14, 19, it says Reserve. What can this be used for? Can someone enlighten me? Thank you in advance.

You find your P settings in the official user manual (same for all Vsett models)
I have the Vsett10+, and in the case of the 60V battery it should be set to 60.
The controller is going into battery saving mode when hitting about 51V, where there are about 10-15% battery left. If set to 48V, it wont go into battery saving mode and allow the BMS a low voltage cutoff (so draining to 0%)
Don't buy unless you are a handyman and can fix your own flats. The replacement inner tubes are very very difficult to replace
I would somewhat agree, however I think the bigger issue are the bolts. I stripped several of them trying to remove the rim to get to the tube. I replaced all of mine with torques instead.

The rear mudguard is useless and transforms your clothes into a pointillist painting of mud projection. The Display is unusable in full daylight. You can't see anything. There is also a display: "TFT color screen + throttle system kit" that you'd better install when you buy it to avoid getting stuck with the original screen. The headlight is cheap and doesn't light up anything. For this price, they could have made an effort. Comfort-wise, it's perfect on the road and the 9+ version with its two engines is worth it, turning it into a bomb when accelerating. Its biggest flaw is its waterproofing which is not efficient at all and makes it downright dangerous when used on wet roads (I had the case of the front engine starting up by itself, without having manipulated the throttle trigger, and in single engine mode). All the nut covers fall off one after the other. Regular users also complain about the handlebar folding system that unscrews itself. In short, for the price, a lot of improvement to do.

Regarding the mud guard and waterproofing I try not to ride my scooter in the rain so I have not experienced any of those issue. Why do so many scooters use that ugly looking display that sticks out like that? It should be sleeker. Feels like it will smash if I drop my scooter

You know I am not here for the Scooter Sage, but this Blooper Reel ... oh boy 🤣😂🤣 "he's compensating for his self esteem" ... btw still a nice scooter, but for me there would be a few no no's regarding this one (though my e-scooter experience is very limited, or to be more precise it's non existent) . Having a lever for throttle seems a bit odd, I'd expect that to be a throttle liek on a motorbike. And the foldable handle bar gives mich chills especially when that thing can go up to 35 mph. But still I can relate to the overall thought of using it to commute or go running. I've bought my first eBike this year because of this.
Thanks Christian. I know scooters aren't your thing so I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment. I am kind of getting used to the lever but as soon as the video was done I switched out the handle bars to solid ones. Such a difference!
