What a dofference the fence makes - looks awesome. It would have been interesting to see you threading that wire through those posts. I'm not sure I could have managed it! --MIchael.
My goodness, that looked fiddly, I’m not looking forward to doing that on my N gauge layout, although it will have to be done at some point. You’ve made a great job of it though and looks great, cheers for now, John
That fence looks so much better than some of the plastic ones available. I do feel sorry for the signalman, the furthest crossover points will take a good pull to throw them.
Haha yes! The crossover on the real Richmond is a lot closer to the station, but I had no choice but to move it because of the curves, but it’s ok, the signalman is ‘ard as nails! 😉 I did consider a plastic fence, but this one looks so much better, even if it was a pain to install!
the layout is progressing very nicely, the scatter grass looks good and the lineside fencing is great. I have a packet of some lineside fencing to add to my layout at some point, ahem..was it tricky to thread it in once you'd glued the fence posts?
Actually it wasn’t as tricky as I thought. It wasn’t the easiest, as you had to go slowly and make sure that the wires didn’t knot or snag, and I should have made sure the holes were totally clear of paint first too. But for a first attempt I’m pleased with it, and I now know what to expect with the next fence kit. Just make sure you use enough glue(not too much!) and give it enough time to dry. I left mine for nearly 24 hours
Ive seen this kit and am tempted to get it. However i suspect it is very fiddly. I fear this video took minutes to watch but hours to film with alot of swearing cut out haha ;) ;)
The fencing looks really good 👍
Thank you! It was SO fiddly! Going to order another pack this week so I can carry on with it

I know I should have filmed it! I will do with the next section!

Just wish I’d remembered to film me threading the wires, it wasn’t half fiddly!!

The fence looks great and is really bringing the scene together. Scale Model Scenery make some great little detail kits.
They sure do! I’m really impressed with it! Definitely going to order more from them in the future

Your fears are sadly correct! It was a damned fiddly job, but the end result is well worth it!
