When I say I love korean make-up style people assume I try to " look korean". And I'm like... no, I like it because it looks more natural than typical western makeup.
I agree. I don't like the cakey, often fake looking makeup. Something soft and natural, is more my style

2- Because you live in Korea it doesn’t mean that you are going to meet BTS.
3- Not all people in Korea like K-pop.

Yeah or japanese versus korean makeup style. Japanese still do their makeup like the dont cause they want to look like anime characters
@@RookieAssassin no they don't. Japanese makeup doesn't actually look too different from korean makeup. You may see thick liner and bold colours in harajuku or with cosplayers but the rest is realy, REALLY muted and natural.
@@RookieAssassin japanese makeup is also natural looking. They just used more warm-toned colors than koreans.

Well...the dont side is more American makeup, the do side is Korean style sooooo...your preference kinda depends on what style you like more
My skincare routine:
Step 1- Cleanse
Step 2- Moisturize
Step 3- DONE✅
Koreans: “UM where’s the remaining 30 steps of the routine??”
I just cleanse , tone and moisturize lol
I tried a lot of different Korean skincare, and nothing worked. I even did a lot of research... still, nothing works. So I gave up and started using Curology. It saved my skin.

You should sleep. This is coming from someone who can stay up all night until 4 or 5 in the morning just staring at the ceiling and thinking about random things.
Side note on skincare: most people actually don’t have the 8 steps. You have to listen to what your skin needs. Some days it might need more love than others and that’s okay. In winter you might need a more hydrating cream than others. Our skin reacts to the environment and what we eat and also what time of the month we are in. Listen to it. Don’t just dive into buying all the products but double cleansing is a must. If you have dry skin use an oil second cleanser or a balm, they are less harsh. Also avoid cleansers with sulphate (it’s what makes the product foam) it’s what they put in dish soap….
Once you have your cleanser go for a toner. They are the must three to really clean and a scrub one or twice a week depending on your needs! When it comes to creams, essence and all that you just have to adapt to your skin
I’ve only recently found at that Korean/East Asian makeup suits my face so much better than western makeup. As least in terms of eyeshadow. I always thought my monolids looks bad with eyeshadow, turns out I wasn’t using the right technique/colors for my eyes. I’m so exited to buy more Korean makeup cause the colors are so much more flattering against my skintone
For me I don't have a monolid but I am Asian so I do have the eye shape that Asians have, and whenever I used Western eyeliner stuff it didn't look great.. I'm looking at Korean style makeup now and it looks like it'll suit my face more? I'll try it once I fix the mess that my skincare routine and wardrobe are lol

Honestly same. I usually just wash my face with regular tap water and that's it. A sheet mask perhaps once a month or even less, but otherwise... I guess I'll never make it in Korea lol
it's fine, just make sure to not skip on sunscreen when you got out.
If you're interested in getting started but are intimidated by/cant afford a big routine, just find a cleanser and moisturizer to use at night and a face sunscreen to wear in the morning. It makes all the difference, I promise.

Thanks for the detailed video! I'm here because my wife never wears make up before I married her, and after 9 years of marriage, she's thinking of trying it. She doesn't know enough English to search tutorials, so I'm helping her out. She said that the first time she tried it was back in school but stopped when she noticed that she started getting black spots on her nose.

Try a little tip someone told me 20yrs ago...get a small pair of scissors and VERY carefully trim the ends off your lashes. It looks great and people always complimented my eyelashes, even the fellas. I can't do it now 'cos my eyesight is not good enough...I would end up really looking like a horror movie if I stabbed scissors in my eye!

Tina if u want longer lashes to try to put oil on your lashes before you sleep I did it for 2 weeks and my lashes look thick and long so I recommend it to anyone with short lashes 💜

Perhaps, because makeup trends change moderately quickly, you could add the year in the title? That way you could have a timeline of how the trends changed over the years 😊 maybe it could be a series every year showing how Korean makeup trends have changed, and you could even do other countries if you felt like it 😅

I get why they give so much importance to healthy and natural looking skin. But applying too many moisturizers and essences, (like specially when you follow the 8 to 10 steps Korean skin routine) it can cause excess moisture build up and causes bacterial infection or even pimples sometimes. Although it does make your skin very soft and baby-like.
