This is the first tutorial that I’ve seen that really helped me understand why my “natural” makeup wasn’t creating the effect I wanted.
I was literally JUST starting to type out “Also, a reminder that there’s no ‘right or wrong’ to makeup! Whatever YOU like how it looks is beautiful.❤️” as she said that there is nothing wrong with other types of makeup. Not even exaggerating.
I followed the advice and was just a little more careful with my concealer shade (I mixed 2 to get the exact match), softened my eyebrows, eyeliner and blush.
I had never felt so effortlessly pretty !
As someone who wears natural makeup, my biggest regret was buying that red Rare Beauty liquid blush 😳 I knew a little went a long way, but DAMN it's even more noticeable on a natural look 😂 so THANK U for sharing the foundation hack 'cause I never thought about that 🤦& I almost gave it away!

Being comfortable to see your face without makeup is so hard i always think of starting to wear less makeup but somehow still have the urge to wear at least a lip gloss and concealer my face feels so incomplete without make up haha

Your advice is so valuable. ❤ Maybe you could make a video about wearing bold lipstick/dark lipstick colours in an opaque way without looking like it's "too much"? I know, you're more into the natural style and I love that on an everyday basis. Sometimes, playing with other colours can be fun though. 😅😊

I have been pointing my daughter in the direction of your of CZcams videos as she becomes interested and wants to learn about make up! She will be a world ahead of me when I was her age. Excellent content, especially this video!
One tip I have found also is to dress a little more elevated and my best, have my hair done and skin care before I ever sit down to look at my face for make up application. I ALWAYS apply less this way because I feel better. Perhaps this goes with the mindset also. I have also found that in years past, we typically equate good quality, make up with having high coverage and good texture, but this just isn’t the case. High coverage products are not all where it’s at especially for those of us wanting a more natural look. I have actually found sheer make up products that I don’t have to blend to the nines the best! I more recently discovered Revlon’s classic Super Lustrous Lipsticks in sheer shades (online only) and find them to be comparable to high and products! The shades are so elegant and I just can’t believe they’ve been around for a long time! And they are so inexpensive.
An alternative way I have found do use my eyebrow pencil is to brush my hairs, straight down and fill in only the areas with gaps. When I brush them back up and place, it diffuses the color and looks perfectly natural. I get compliments on my brows when I do this!
Also, if a lip color looks good on you bare faced, no color, it’s a keeper.

I went to school for musical theatre and got into the habit of wearing too much makeup- kinda like stage makeup. A younger friend hinted this year that I don't need that much makeup and I didn't understand until I saw this video. Thank you love!
I have pimples and i just started doing my makeup same way,i apply tinted sunscreen and it does a pretty good job evening out my skin then i spot conceal my blemishes with nars soft matte concealer and that’s it my skin looks better without looking full face of masked makeup,took me years to figure out this technique i used to apply concealer all over my face and it looked flat so i add more and more product ! I’m amazed that you’re sharing techniques I’m following,I thought tinted moisturizers are for people with clear skin but i was wrong

I used to put foundation a tone paler when I was in college and it was ok until I went in the sun and then my skin would get taned and it wouldn’t match anymore
I think I also never had a moisturiser to look natural and even it out.

Hey Haley, Love the video. Can you please use one of your dark skin friends/subscribers to show your version of natural makeup on their skintone? It is rare to find truly natural version of full makeup on brown skin. In most videos, they end up adding a lot of foundation/concealer and rest of powders. Ends up looking very made up. Also cause brown skin usually has uneven tones on different parts of the face.
i almost never take photos of myself nor allow my friends to include me in their pictures because of my face. I don't like how I look and do feel insecure. But recently, I've gained an interest in makeup because I want to highlight certain features of my face and maybe, I could overcome that insecurity of mine and discover a new side of me. Personally, I'm not a fan of heavy makeup and would just want to learn how to do everyday, natural type of makeup. So your tips are very helpful. I think the mindset is the crucial part in this process. (btw, im new here :D)

can u please explain the purpose types applications and effects of powder? i love natural makeup and it always looks good right after but then a few hours down the line some of us look like oil balls! powder is needed for longevity but not a lot of us know how to use it 😅

I have been watchin your videos for around an year now. I really like your focus on natural makeup. The outer part of my eyebrow is very spare and hardly able to seen. How can I fill it while looking natural? I have tried both brow pencil and brow powder. Both of them looks like coloring since I don't have much hair to start with.
