@@teeteeabena did the woman you are defend think of her fellow humans before she insulted a custom. There were customs in in place before Christianity but yet this so called Evangelist went on national radio to wrongly insult a group of people who hold their customs dear to them. I beg to differ with you, she was treated with love by the chiefs as here penance could have been lashings but because love and understanding she was spared. Im not sure if you understand Ga but if you hear the presiding chief and the traditional priests they explained why what she said was so offensive and why people were angry. Her own brother in law sitting next to her is Ga and she (for what ever possessed her ) insulted his whole tribe. We should all excerise love and patience towards each yes, but she did not and there are consequences for that. It is why we have offences under constitutional law. If you assault a person in the street we can't get away with it, such an act is punishable under the law. If it is your first offence you may be are spared punishment unless the assault was very serious. The Ga Traditional Council is a recognised court under customary law which is a branch of our legal process in Ghana that's why there was a lawyer present to ensure the hearing was conducted properly. She went to court and was spared for her first offence. If she had said what she had said in her home town she could have faced the similar. As for the kneeling, like it or not, that is how the hearing is conducted and for the best part of the hearing she was sitting down, and I believe she kneeled to beg for mercy. It is a form of respect for authority, the same way judges in could sit higher above the court to demonstrate authority. I get where you are coming from but God made humans to be part a social community, we were in our tribes before white man encaged us into an area and called in Gold Coast before it was known as Ghana. We were in our tribes hence why you and I have names that indicate the tribes we belong to. To dis my tribe is to disrespect me, where is the love and kindness in that? Too many people, in fact pastors for that matter are causing division in Ghana and that is not right, it was good her case was set as a warning to others, she is a public figure and hopefully it will show people that you cannot insult a group of people and get away with it that easily . I am abroad was born and bred abroad but I fully understand my culture and respect it as I respect all tribes and customs, I take time to understand th all and when in Ghana I travel most of the regions to fully educate myself . Please do not gaslight my opinion, we Ga people were offended, whether she meant to offend or not she offended a group of people. She was given all the opportunity to defend herself and explain what she meant, she did not because she knew what she had done had caused offense so maybe it is you who does not get it and maybe it is because of the environment you live in as to why you don't get why some of us called for this arbitration hearing. Maybe you didn't understand much of the hearing because it was in Ga. Let me say as a lawyer she was very treated fairly. I actually wish some of our own civil courts were this fair. People were threatening to kill her, which is of course very wrong, but our Nii with all his wisdom brought about peace and calm. She was given a telling off after much explanation as to why the Ga people were hurt by her words. There punish to say sorry to the Ga people publicly. The same penalty you would usually get for defamation offence in civil court I might add.
When as a tribe you are constantly being abused it is very painful. All tribes and customs should be respected, you may not understand or respect them but we live on this land together, tolerance is key. That is the message we should all take from this. Good day to you

They mentioned Kumchacha and another Akan guy who insulted the whole tribe ON THEIR LAND sometime ago without any punity. This incident serves as a deterrent to others because people have taken their humility for a fool. Ga' have nothing against other tribes. They chose to speak other languages to accommodate the strangers who r residing on their land. Poverty may be the other of the day for the Ga like you implied but Akan chiefs are selling land for Galamsey there by destroying the natural habitat and the next generation. What i know in the work of God is some people have been given special powers, anionting and gift by God to speak against and warn kings, nations and idolatry. In Ghana preachers like Evang. Morgan, Sofo Amoako, Akwasi Awuah and many more are as such. Please not everybody can stand against threats, intimidation and pressure, so stay in your lane .

We should be very careful about how
we talk sometimes. We should not let our mouth leads us into trouble.
That should be a big lesson for her, let others see that and learn from it

Its because she is an Ashanti and NPP. How can chiefs set a sitting because of this small petit issue. Aaahhhh! Should Ejisu or Mampong chief do same to foriegners who do commit in similar ways? On the other side, i agree to what the Ga chiefs did. Good traditions muss go on. And bad ones left behind. Respect
