GSBs are one of the most progressive lots of the Bhramins. Apart from the fact that some of them eat meat - predominantly fish, they do have a few who are hardcore vegetarians. Usually worshipers of Lord Rama, in Mumbai the community has a big temple in Wadala, opp. the famous Albela Hanuman Temple and also host a big 5-day Ganpati festivity near SNDT college Wadala - near Kings Circle Station. Apart from the must see very big idol (one of the largest in Mumbai) decorated with kgs of gold and silver, they serve a must have prasad meal.
Their contribution to Mumbai has been some awesome Udipi style pure veg restaurants, they pioneered Idlis n Dosas in Mumbai. The Shettys of course are now dominant in this game. However, the food will taste distinctly different in a GSB owned Udipi versus a Shetty owned. The latter is tweaked a bit for masses while the former is about sticking to the traditions and a kind of take it as it is and enjoy.
Also, they form part of one of the most progressive communities - both financially and as professionals. You will find then atop most industries especially as professionals. Just like the Parsis, you will see GSBs at the top of their game and are grounded in values and culture. They are religious lot so food at festivals revolves around prasad to god hence vegetarian.

All of the points mentioned do not make them progressive. Being proud of their Brahmin caste makes them highly regressive.

Saraswat Brahmins are those Brahmins who used to live on the banks of the Saraswati river. When the Saraswati river got extinct/dried up they moved to the Goa, Bengal, and Konkan regions. The Saraswat Brahmins eat river wish that has scales on it just like Bengali Brahmins and Bengali Brahmins are also actually Saraswat Brahmins for eg. Mukharjee, Chatterjee, Banerjee, Ganguly, etc. This history was told to me by my grandfather.

Love that you guys are shedding light on the lesser known culture of the Saraswat brahmin community!
    Quick 2 cents:
108 brahmin families were supposed to have moved from the Saraswati river basin and settled in various parts of Goa. The etymology of some of the municipalities show that history as well
Salcette / Xaxatti - Derives name from 66(sahasasht) families that settled here
Thiswadi - Derives name from 30(thees) families that settled here
Bardez - Derives name from 12(barah) families that settled here
Could be wrong as well, this is what my grandparents told me

Where is it? How could an OYO placement be inside a house? And if so, we should charge them

Ya ... I second that.... why the fcuk did you keep being apologetic?? You guys are good to go ..... just a simple disclaimer at the beginning should have taken care of it.... seriously..... it made me cringe to see Sid do that not once but twice on the show..... O Producer saab!! So raella hai kya?? How could you make him do that??!! Guys.... dont ever fuckin do that.... Love you guys and never want to see you'll apologise for any fuckin thing!! Thats what the show is all about..... but ...... the bad language if it had been used in front of my womenfolk.... I would have kicked you both out of my house!!🤣🤣🤣🤣 I think even Shubhra was uncomfortable.... but what to do with the Devil at the door!!😈😈 its a catch 22 where the USP is what you do.... but TRP says.... you cant😁 More power to you guys👍👍
