      They are such a joy to drive! Grew up with my parents driving Honda and Acura products. I first fell in love with the manual V6 combo when my dad got his 06 TL. While for my first car I wasn’t able to trace down the right TL 6spd for my budget, I did land an 03 Accord 6-6 and could not have been happier! Everyone that drives it can’t get enough of it! So much so that my friend who I let drive it just picked ip an 03 CL-S 6spd…the ultimate rare Honda/Acura v6 manual

      I have only ever seen three manual V6 sedans for sale, ever. The first i saw, i contacted the seller and he told me it was a one per dealer allocation. They weren't special-order but it was a limited production spec that was allocated one per dealer and they got it whether they wanted it or not.
      The second one i ever saw, I bought one month ago.
      The third one, is currently for sale in Seattle WA for $7000USD.

    Good video!
    One correction. The 6-spd was carried over to the '04-'06 TL non-Type S. The Type S got a different transmission technically. The bellhousing is different so it won't mount to the J30A4 or J30A5 blocks. The '04-'06 TL J32A3 block non-Type S transmission swaps right over and gives you limited slip diff.
    The two things to look put for to see if it's a 6-spd is the rear red V6 badge, as well as the wheels. Those wheels only came on the '03-'05 6-spds. The '06-'07 Accord 6-spd sedans and coupes got the wide spoke wheels carried over from the 2nd Gen '01-'03 TL/CL Type S's.
    I always compare this Accord's engine to the '95 BMW M3 US S50B30 3.0L I6. Very similar outputs but the J30AX gets much better gas mileage.
    Oh, one other thing. Many people were upset the '98-'02 Accord V6 didn't come with a manual. Some actually swapped theirs to manual trans. You could do that by getting a 5-spd manual transmission from the 1st Gen Acura Legend '86-'90.

      @@autoobsessivegarage No problem. I'm a huge Accord enthusiast. Some think it's a weird interest. Lol
      Yes, the 6th Gen ('98-'02) Accord was the start of the unreliable V6 automatic transmissions. The 4 cylinder automatic transmissions were fantastic in terms of reliability.
      It was pretty neat to see the Accord V6 go from a 3.0L J30A1 with 200 HP to a J30A4/A5 with 240/244 HP. Close to 25% more HP increase!

    i remember when these first came out in late 2002 for the 2003 Model Year. I just my got my first real job out of college and I wasn't interested in a poorly put together Ford Mustang and the Camaro at the time had went out of production. The Accord V6 and the newly introduced at the time Infiniti G35 was just too pricey at the time, but I had the opportunity to buy a blue 5 speed manual Accord LX coupe (yes, a 4 cyl 5 speed manual was available at the time). Ended getting up a silver 03 Accord coupe lx automatic in Nov 2002. Yes, the LX plastic wheel covers left much to be desired, but still a good car. Drove it to 180,000 miles before selling it.

  • @seattlejdmcivic
    @seattlejdmcivic Před 2 lety +7

    YOU SHOULD HAVE DROVE THE RAREST IT WAS ONE STEP UP FROM THIS....
    THE ( HFP PACKAGE ) WITH THE V6 6 SPEED COUPE that's what I have and the hfp makes it a way more aggressive looking handling and performing vehicle you get sway bars strut bars better wheel package Areo package with front lip rear lip side skirt spoiler looks way more aggressive then the regular V6 coupes!!!!!! And handles much much better!
    I do 0-60 in 4.8 sec with my modifications.
    I was lucky enough to pick up a one owner 60,000 original miles V6 6-speed Coupe with the hfp Honda factory performance kit that comes with a front lip rear lip side skirt spoiler different Wheels leather seats heated seats etc sway bars I've gone through every piece of maintenance on the engine and suspension top to bottom front to back
    I did not realize how rare this car was I bought it for a daily because I have a 1995 Honda Civic Coupe that's my fully built track car with a built k24 block K20 head with nothing but two seats in a roll cage in it
    I did not realize how rare it was to find a V6 let alone a V6 and a coup let alone a V6 in a coupe with a 6-speed and then the rarest of the rare with the hfp package that changes the complete look honestly when I see him without the hfp kit I do not like them I've never been in accord fan I've owned tons of civics integras crx's s2000s never really like to chords but something about the 7th generation coupes with the hfp package or the 9th generation coupes with the hfp package look way more aggressive!!!!!!!
    My Civic is very nice with a custom candy paint job and like I said a fully built track car but
    I HAVE NEVER GOT AS MANY COMPLIMENTS ON A CAR AS I DO WITH THE ACCORD I HAVE PEOPLE COME UP TO ME ALL THE TIME SAYING WOW THAT'S A NICE CAR WHAT IS IT AND THEY'RE SURPRISED WHEN THEY FIND OUT IT'S A HONDA
    And after adding cold air intake full two and a half inch dual exhaust a j-pipe and precat delete to eliminate the three catalytic converters and then a bigger 3.7 l intake manifold and throttle body off the newer v6s it really brings this thing to life!!!!!! And this is only my daily driver and I can pretty much be any V8 from the early 2000s or older with around 3 to 400 horsepower I've beaten Challenger and charger RTS with 400 horsepower was able to keep up with my neighbor's scat pack Challenger with 500 until 100 miles an hour but any older Camaro or mustang with around 3 to 400 I can hang right with them or if they're 300 horsepower beat them all day long
    and I think this is the older 3.0 when this motor gets tired and gets high miles I plan to put the 3.7 J series engine out of the newer Acura TL and that with all the same bolt-ons I already have done to this engine and a tune I'll easily be sitting at 300 horsepower or more to the wheels the seventh generation Accords did not get much love let alone Accords at all but I will say this is a great daily driver comfortable for long drives and if you like going fast and you put the money in the right places and have the six-speed even the 3.0 can get down with the bigger v6s 350Z 370Z etc

    • @seattlejdmcivic
      @seattlejdmcivic Před rokem

      @@autoobsessivegarage sorry to reply to your comment so late but I'm telling you take the time to look up the 03-07 seventh generation Honda Accord hfp Coupes you will see what I'm talking about with how much more aggressive they look and I forgot to add other than the Aero package kit with the front lip rear lip side skirts spoiler strut bars sway bars you also get lowered suspension from the factory bigger wider Wheels bigger brake package to go with all the handling capabilities and that alone changes this car completely I have parked next to so many of these cars that are the regular V6 Coupes and you literally would not think they are the same car when you look at them side-by-side
      and and I have now as of last couple weeks raced a 2010 superbee Dodge Charger SRT with ported heads cams headers full exhaust and I was able to beat him right after I grab 2nd gear with the cold air intake the J pipe pre-cat deletes which is essentially a header for this motor and full exhaust and then intake manifold and throttle body off the bigger 3.7 L Acuras and dive also raced Mustang GTs 2017 and older and been able to beat them I've been able to race charger scat packs that my neighbor has and beat them Nissan 350z Nissan 370Z Land Rover v8 with 540 horsepower was neck-and-neck with him last night the list goes on
      I mean these V6 once you start doing even simple bolt-ons you do not have to Turbo or supercharged them and they are very underrated engines and this is only the 3.0 once this motor gets tired and I put in the bigger 3.5 or 3.7 in this body style the possibilities are quite endless for the bigger vehicles I'll be smoking in this thing and this is only my daily driver my 95 Civic Coupe is a fully built track car
      BUT SERIOUSLY take the time to look up a 2003 to 2007 Honda Accord V6 coupe hfp package and tell me what you think when you see how much different looks

For example, while the 6-speed manual in the Accord is nice, the unit in the S2000 is far superior. I also prefer rear wheel drive for spirited driving. @@autoobsessivegarage and I am so sorry I was responding to you like I was with you in the video.
      I mean to say the coupe is easy to find.
      It’s the 6-6 sedans that’s the complicated find.
      Redline reviews did a 6-6 sedan review many years ago and it’s a gold video please watch it on my behalf 😀😀

      @@jayscul-de-sac6820 No worries at all, I've seen that vid and it was very solid. Agreed the sedans are quite a bit more rare, but the coupes are still rare as well. I see one for sale every 6 months or so...but they are not even in this condition.
