    Fun fact, if you decide to get the 2.4lt 4 cylinder option stock you can run N/A at around 275-300 hp with a tune to run 93 a cat delete a resignator delete and a high flow muffler with a exhaust size increase, but you can also turbo them from factory without rebuilding it (depending on how hard it gets driven) and make almost 350 to 400. For mine personally right now I'm running roughly 220 wheel with tune intake and exhaust, with plans to rebuld and install a supercharger other people with similar builds are dailying 450-550 wheel horsepower, so while the 4 cylinder may not come with a whole lot stock its got plenty of aftermarket support to make this car fast, (also do some weight reduction lol)

    Glad I came across this vid. Been a bit down in the dumps about whether I should do my 8th gen Accord a solid or just keep it as is and get a different vehicle as a project. I have a laundry list of things I'd like to do to it so it's nice to get some affirmation that it isn't a waste of time, considering the lack of aftermarket support for the late 8th gen coupes.

  • @Inb4ify
    @Inb4ify Před 3 lety +20

    I have a 8th gen v6 coupe with the 6 speed, It's the best daily I've ever had and I can't imagine getting rid of it. They are much faster than you would think, hanging with (and gapping sometimes, due to the shorter gear ratios) g35/7 z350/370s, stis, v6 mustangs, basically anything around 300 horsepower can get smoked by one of these things. The 8th gens still have double wishbone over the newer ones, makes them very good handling-wise and LSDs to put in the diff exist for when you put a new clutch in. That's what I did. Super reliable too and I beat it to hell haha. Also the autos are a full second slower 0-60, and they are much, much more common. (The close ratio gearbox being the main factor here) The coupe with the v6 and 6 speed is about 2% of the accords on the road. Thats part of why people can be taken by surprise by one of these, cause chances are even if you have seen one you don't even know it. You HAVE to get the 6 speed in this car for it to be fun.

My hat is off to the Honda engineers. Very little, if any, turbo lag with this beast. It runs the same 1/4 mile times as the 383 Magnum '69 Roadrunner I owned in high school (ask me how I know). I am a retired automotive technician and engine builder/shop owner that was drag racing probably before you were born. Just because you can't wrap your mind around it doesn't make it not true. @@PMac-qt6rp mine is currently at 207K miles with original motor and transmission with no issues. I bought it from the original owner and it was maintained religiously and garage kept its whole life since 2006. Bone stock and it was babied its whole life.

      Or you could buy a 9th gen J35 sedan V6. Or hell they made the Acura TL in SH-AWD 6spd. That’s a proper sleeper unicorn.

      @@delta_az4481 youre definitely not wrong bro the SH AWD TL has like 300hp and is quick. The only thing is i personally dont like the way it looks 😍 when it comes to TL's personally i favor the 2nd and 3rd gen Type S models, more ovet towards the 3rd gen TL Type S cus you could get it in a 6spd but the 3rd gen TL Type S with a 6spd is more rare than my 2006 Honda Accord V6 6spd Sedan.
