You mentioned change in coat with neutering. I've never heard this. My Springer has a beautiful coat & and I don't want to ruin it. He's not been neutered so now I'm rethinking it.
Yes they get fuzzier and get a thicker coat. More hair for sure.
would you use a Mars Coat King on a long rough Border Collie? How many blades are you using? Thanks for the demo! Such great dogs!!
Yes I would and it’s a 20blade 😊
What beautiful dogs! Cole's coat is so shiny! How do keep his black hair such pure black and the white such pure white? Is it the shampoo you use? I have a black and white Cocker Spaniel and I would really like to have his coat shiny like Cole's. Any tip you can give me??? Thank you! - Cheers from Quebec! 🐕🐶
Thank you. I think some of Coles shine is from his food as he eats a fish based food. Also until recently Cole was not neutered and hair quality gets affected when dogs are neutered. This is also one of the benefits of the English Springer they are self cleaning, you can’t really tell how dirty they are until you bathe them or maybe smell them.
I use a two in on shampoo and conditioner and I towel his coat to dry.
I use this shampoo and sometime a whitening shampoo for white areas.

@@emberandcolesenglishspringers Thank you so much for the info! I really appreciate it!
You mentioned that you pin a towel around a certain way so that coat dries flat, how exactly do you do that.
Here is a video where I show how to put a towel on. It’s near the end of the video. czcams.com/video/LeIrHAnPmHM/video.htmlsi=ae5RheALDTcOzB5i
Is this size good for a show giant schnauzer ? Is the original or blunt version recommended? Thanks.
Here is what I found www.marscoatking.com/pages/mars-coat-king-size-guide
Hope this helps.😊
I have an American cocker spaniel. Would an 18 blade work or should I go with a 20?
Either would work
Does it hurt their skin. I bought a mars 10 blade and it seems kind of sharp. Can you accidentally cut them?
I would brush the dog out first so there at no knots and then use the mats coat king. It should not cut the skin, it can tug some but shouldn’t hurt them.
What number are you using?
I use a 20 blade
@@emberandcolesenglishspringers oh I see in the title you use a 20 blade…thank you for the video..
