  • Job Interview Leads to a Stampede like Situation in India's Gujarat | Vantage with Palki Sharma
In the Indian state of Gujarat, hundreds of candidates showed up for a walk-in interview. According to one claim 1,800 candidates turned up for just 10 job vacancies at a private firm. In a viral video, a firm was seen holding interviews at a hotel. The hotel was unable to manage the crowd. It led to a stampede-like situation. This is not a one-off incident. Recently, UP Police announced 62 vacancies for the position of a peon. More than 90,000 candidates comprising PhD holders, post-graduates and graduates applied for the vacant position. These incidents hint at a job crisis in India. As per the Indian government data, 16 percent of the youth is jobless. Palki Sharma tells you more.

the reality is, even after learning all the hard stuff, most grads are unemployed, because the companies dont want to give any formal training to the fresh graduates in the first place and expect them to be experts with years of experience even before graduating. the result would be exactly like this 'hello world', where they expect you to model deep learning and you barely know 'hello world. @@reos4833 It's not just the rich. Even middle class Indians are applying to foreign universities. They score high in the entrance exams and get in through merit. They end up settling there, never intending to come back. So if the rich leave and a good percentage of the middle class leave, who's left?? You can't expect the poor people to build the country. It's a very simple premise; give the people jobs, safety, and good quality infrastructure and they will stay. We have...none of the above (except for jobs in metro cities). We are facing a brain drain.
