12x16 Gable Shed with Dormer and Loft Plans

In this video, we’re taking on an exciting project - building a 12x16 gable shed with a dormer and a loft. This shed has it all: double doors for easy access, a side man door, and a window on the right side for plenty of natural light. Plus, the loft space adds extra storage or a cozy nook! We’ll cover everything from laying the foundation and framing the walls, to installing the roof and adding finishing touches.
You’ll learn how to:
- Frame the shed with 2x4s and 3 1/2" screws
- Construct a solid floor with 2x6 joists, 4x4 skids, and 3/4" plywood
- Build a sturdy roof with 2x6 rafters and 3/4" plywood sheets
- Add a dormer with two windows for extra light and headroom
- Attach 5/8" T1-11 siding for a classic look
- Fit 1x8 roof trims for a polished finish
- Frame and install the doors using pocket holes, siding panels, hinges, and a latch
