What would you recommend to gain 2 feet of headroom in a shop with howe trusses that are spaced on 3ft centers.. I only need to modify 4 or 5 of the trusses to gain the area I need (installing a lift) I'm in the southeast so absolutely no snow load ever.

I would rebuild with convention roof framing, if that would work. Like rafters for vaulted ceiling or rafter ties.
