      I'm in the same boat as you. New to this hobby and I've been watching so much of his videos as well as ShortCourseWorld. Been getting great ideas from both channels. ShortCourseWorld has great ideas for organizing and does a great job explaining tools and such. OvalRC has been awesome with tips and such for the Mudboss racing. Just ordered my Slash yesterday.

    • @JFlyer1973
      @JFlyer1973 Před rokem

      There is basically 2 groups of oval racing... Buggy chassis based (ie ... AE (most popular) TLR, Bandit) and then there are Short Course (SC) based. Same basic classes for both with main classes being a street stock type with the stock car bodies, late model and modified. These all mirror their real 1 to 1 scale racing counterparts. Now there is also the Sprint classes. Those I think are mostly buggy based and most racers prefer the AE b6 series. These classes will then be split up into sub classes based on motor limits. 17.5, 13.5 and open. AE's SR10 can often go in the buggy class stock classes too but get outmatched by the b6 chassis cars. They also have a spec class that is just for the SR10. Now the Mudboss is the class specifically for the 2wd brushed 12 t motor Slashes as a cheap beginner class to race in. But it is so popular and fun lots of people, even experienced racers run them. If you wanted to do a Mudboss style class for SC, look at Modified. This is really what the mudboss body is based off of. Ths is some of the coolest RC racing out there and easier to get competitive at vs off road track racing. Hope that all helps. I am actually going to the LHS now to buy hardware for my Slash Mudboss rebuild. ;)

    why not change the frame to lower the center weight,,also per rules can you cut away any left side to move the weight to the right,,just wondering how the rules are..wanting to get into the rc oval cars,,

    • @OvalRC
      @OvalRC  Před 5 lety +1

      This video shows you how to take a stock slash and convert it to a Mudboss dirt race car. You can look up Salvas Mudboss to find the rules. Many tracks have their own rules but use the Salvas rules as kind of a baseline.. It's best to find out where your going to race and go from there, but this video will get you started.
