    Intro Lyrics:
    Growing up in a glass bowl
    With chameleons, lizards, and tadpoles
    It hardly enters your mind
    That there's something better than this.
    A better treat than a carrot
    Maybe a seed from a parrot
    Believe me when I tell you
    The word gourmet just don't exist!
    But pizza power
    A flying saucer food delight
    Pizza power
    Oh, that's what makes us feel all right!

    • @Supperdude9
      @Supperdude9 Před 3 lety +10

      Arcade bosses flashed for one reason. They had an indicator that they were close to dying, which made players more reckless so they could finish the fight faster. Of course, usually the bosses got smarter and faster as the fight progresses, introducing newer techniques.
      This was all done so the player could attack without hesitation, which resulted in player damage, which resulted in loss lives, which resulted in an artificial means of making more quarters being pumped in since they're so close to beating that boss.
      If the boss had no such indicator, the player had all the time in the world to be patient, strategic, and smarter with their lives. The arcade devs who dangle "you can finish this fight" in front of the player can squeeze out more money.

      Yeah, the arcade version feels like it had to be rushed to meet a deadline. Things like Shredder just appearing in the sewers for no logical reason to do his time warp and other various rough edges. I wouldn't be surprised if the extra stage of the SNES version was planned for the Arcade but cut due to time constraints. Pity there has never been a release that combined the enhanced gfx/sound/4 player of the arcade with the expanded content of the SNES version.

      Prehistoric Turtlesaurus: Cement Man
      Skull and Crossbones: Tokka & Rahzar
      Feudal Japan level (name undecided but it would essentially look like the outside of Shredder's Hideout from The HyperStone Heist): Slash
      Bury My Shell At Wounded Knee: Leatherhead
      Neon Night Riders: Super Krang

    Few differences from the SNES version.
    1. Rat King is the boss of Sewer Surfing.
    2. The SNES has a whole extra stage after the sewers. It's the Techno Drome and it has two bosses. Toka and Razar followed by a Shredder room boss that you have to throw foot bots at the screen to beat.
    3. Slash is the boss of the prehistoric level.
    4. Leatherhead doesn't use knives all the time, only for 1 attack.. He also has a cool attack where he crawls on the floor like a real alligator.
    5. Beebop and Rocksteady are the bosses of the pirate level and are actually dressed as pirates.

    I like both versions and this is a great list of boss battles in this game. I like that they still added Leatherhead as one of the final bosses and he’s one of the most difficult ones to defeat especially when you’re in a battle with him in Manhattan Project(NES)!🐊

      @Bloodreign1 Před 4 lety

      Well gee, several hundreds of dollars hardware versus a cheaper hardware made for the home market. Nah, that can't be it, now can it. SNES version improves on the game by making the time trip for the turtles make more sense (Shredder has enough when you are in the sewer? Nah beat his ass on his own turf, then he has a good excuse to send you back in time), more bosses, and a longer overall game with the home version. Plus hey, you only had to pay for it once, and not have coins gobbled up by an arcade machine that is programmed to take as much money from you as you are willing to give it (Simpson's and the first Turtles arcade game were also similar in this way).

    We need sequels using these same graphics, with more levels, bosses and original voices from the 90s arcade games. Would be nice. Kind of like we have new games based on NES 8 bit graphics but using more sources to pull off cool effects in those style of graphics.

    Arcade has better sound and graphics, but overall the SNES is better with Bebop and Rocksteady, Rat King, fighting Shredder and Super Shredder as well as the Technodrome level. Main advantage the arcade has is 4 players, but I prefer the SNES version. I also say the damage sound effect is more satisfying in the SNES version. When you hit bosses in the arcade, most of them sound as if they are made of water, which doesn't sound appropriate to me. It feels and sounds more satisfying in the SNES version for enemies and bosses.

  • @zazelby
    @zazelby Před 6 lety +5

    I not only like the SNES version better for having more stages and better bosses (for the most part), it also had far better control. You could turn auto-run off and had full control over throws (which you had to master to beat Shredder in the Technodrome).

    Incidentally, I'm surprised to see you using Leo. Mikey for whatever reason was stronger then the other turtles. On the basic purple enemies is a good place to test there strength, as it took all the other turtles the whole 4 hit combo to kill them it only took Mikey 3 outta the 4 hits. I could guess you choose Leo for the length of the weapon but then why not Donotello ya know???
    In any rate I'm sure you had your reasons

    I noticed in the intro that April was lovingly gripping Raphael's shoulders like a girlfriend. While Leonardo is standing behind them looking down at them with a jealous look on his face. I remember in the first TMNT arcade game, after rescuing April from Bebop and Rocksteady, she gives one of the turtles (whichever one the player was using) a kiss on the head. This intro makes me think that Raphael was the canon "lucky" turtle. 😏
