- With the Series 7 uploads complete, I thought I'd compile a list of some of the best battles from the final series of the show's original run. Note, that, of course, some of the list differs from my Top 25 for reasons such as changes in opinion since, as well as me putting extra emphasis on a drawn out battle as apposed to explosive moments, so the likes of Iron-Awe 2.1 vs Bigger Brother are naturally that bit lower than in the original Top 25 list.
Anyhow, with Series 4's uploads being completed over the weekend, feel free to suggest battles in the comments below that you'd like to be included in the Series 4 version of this list. - Sport

Robot wars is more for entertainment while battlebots is treated like a boxing match, they sorta compliment eachother
In enjoyed them both as a child, but looking back as an adult Robot Wars is way more entertaining.
Robot Wars is more like Professional Wrestling than Boxing, especially when you consider the format of the Extreme series

@@dasher29 nah Battlebots is taken way too seriously its almost cringe, like the teams are so far up their own arses, they cry and get upset when being damaged or complain that the other team damaged them when they were being counted, in Robot wars most of the time the teams are still smiling and laughing when getting destroyed because its just a hobby/fun type thing for them

The producers were literally pissing all over Storm 2 the entire series and it still gained 2nd place. Should’ve won. The team was robbed.

Series 7: *flip flip flip flip flip*
Robots were using the same motors in 100kg robots as they were back when the weight limit was capped at 84kg, as result armour got better and bots were more resilient to destructive weapons like spinning discs and flywheels. This meant more and more bots had to resort to things like flippers as there primary weapon.
The Storm vs Tornado fight was sick. xD

Can we include the Specials? I think the first round of the Northern Annihilator counts. I'd love to see you include Pussycat/Razer just to make the fanboys whinge. Pretty much anything from Semi Final 1 (but Pussycat/Thermidor would be my call out of the lot of it). X-Terminator/Arnold Arnold (if you can get it). Spikasaurus/Stinger/Bulldog Breed. Wild Thing/X-Terminator. Wild Thing/Hypno-Disc. Tornado/Gemini. But honestly it's more interesting to see your personal take. A man can never have too many lists!
Oh, how that Grand Final was mired in controversy. Not as much as the Season 6 Grand Final, but still a fair amount. Numerous accusations of judges results being fixed by the controller of Channel 5 are not something to be taken lightly
Well just watch the Storm 2 vs Tornado fight, despite the cut you can bloody see the pit got raised to let Tornado free.

Say what you will about the Grand Final fight (and very entertaining it was), but I think Storm 2 should've taken that decision. I think they were more consistently aggressive than Typhoon and managed to get more lifts in from the looks of things compared to how many times Typhoon managed to actually hit Storm 2 with their full-body spinner. The damage that appeared at the end, given that Typhoon wasn't spinning when that panel came off of Storm 2, I think was self-inflicted rather than caused by Typhoon
It's worse than that. Tornado did not "narrowly miss the pit" in reality. Tornado actually went down into the pit, but they raised it back up.
The producers were biased against Storm 2, since it was designed to be a bot that was durable and could push, but the producers didn't think that was entertaining. The ineffective flipper was added in due to a new rule that you had to have some kind of active weapon.

And i think the panel at the front got loose because of the hits from typhoon 2 there is no other moment were they took damage

Number 1 was great, but Bulldog Breed vs TAN was the best for me
Watching Typhoon 2 VS. Storm 2 back, I still have NO CLUE how on earth Typhoon 2 won that. Such manufactured, Mentorn bullshit. Storm 2 were on top of that fight the whole time. They were unstoppable and deserved that win so much.
It was all of that executive meddling - the channel 5 producers really didn't want Storm II to win, which is why all of those stupid moments happened. Personally, as a Firestorm fan, I'm kinda salty about Storm II opting to shove them down the pit as soon as they could, particularly because they did so without using their lifting arm, but Storm II were better in every category against Typhoon 2 IMO.

Internal damage, not just external damage - and Typhoon 2 were not too happy at the end, in regards to the internals; they were not spinning up at all, and Storm II sustained that damage later than Typhoon 2 did. Still the damage category, admittedly, could go either way.
It because the producers absolutley hated storm 2. They created the active weapon rule just so storm 2 couldnt compete. And the producers told the judges to make storm 2 lose
mr plutonium the producers never told the judge's to make storm2 lose that's just rubbish the captain spread because he was salty.

I do love watching your lists, even if it's only for the Extended S5 Grand Final theme over the introductions. probably shouldn't have been surprised by Number 1, but I have to say, not sure I agree with all of them. That is of course the joy of everyone's opinions, but I would have put TAN/Bulldog Breed much, much higher up. Maybe next to TAN/Robochicken for the full effect of the 'revenge' for its' Tag Team partner. Only one I vehemently disagreed with was putting M2/Tiberius so high. It was great for the latter half, but the first part was like watching the very worst of all of Razer's fights condensed into one. I think my favourite out of these was M2/Atomic personally, but all were pretty good fights. Whatever issues were behind the scenes during S7, it had some cracking fights.
Can' argue with No.1. It is one of the most dramatic fights in RW.
This fight is why Xterminator was one of my favourite bots in Robot Wars
Is it just me, or are these battles way more exciting than the ones on the new series?
I liked how in the classic shows there was a lot more fun as it was merely a game show.
With the new series it was a lot more serious as it was a competitive sport.
The new arena does look a lot more sterile (maybe even a little smaller), and the bright lights change the mood a bit. Plus the lack of Refbot and post defeat beatdowns from the Housebots (and some of their redesigns) take away from the sheer excitement of destruction.

Every time I watch the Storm 2 Typhoon 2 final I wonder WHY was Storm 2 robbed of victory like that?

Well the judges said that damage carries more weight, Typhoon 2 did after all smash a piece of the front of Storm II. But Storm II did do VERY well despite that.
Always felt this result was odd. When Storm 2 won every category except damage and lost felt damning (it felt like the judges determined another category went to Typhoon yet it was never in control, aggression was won by Storm which leaves style). Then when Robot Wars returned for a reboot, they ended up scoring Aggression as more important and dropped style. Think they didn't want another repeat of this scenario.

I know this is four years old but if you ever do this again could you please include any judges decisions? I hate the close calls and not knowing who actually won. Don't need the whole decision part of the video just the part where the announcer says it. Or could someone just tell me if robochicken won against tough as nails? And storm 2 and typhoon 2? The more I weatch the more I need to know. :)

Surprised not to see Panic Attack vs. Tough as Nails included, although this compilation has reminded me what an entertaining robot Tough as Nails were, you could make an argument for any of their battles being among the best. Glad you didn’t just go for the battles where the most damage was done and more for the real tests of driver skill, which are always the more entertaining battles for me. M2 vs Tiberius might be my favourite, such an exciting comeback and you can see every move M2 was making to turn the tables on their opponent.

Supernova may not have won the series, but they will forever be able to hold the title of being the robot to do probably the most damage to Sir Killalot. Cutting off a track like that isn't something I think I've seen happen to Killalot before, though he has been set on fire a few times, but that's not really from a competitor's direct attack.
why not show the decisons?
Because this video is designed for the battles only - adding the decisions breaks the flow. However, I can tell you that from the battles involving Judges' decision, the robots that won/progressed, in order, were: Roobarb, Pussycat, Bulldog Breed, Gravity, Thor, Storm 2, Tough as Nails and Typhoon 2.

Roobarb and Pussycat progressed through the second fight, Bulldog Breed beat Tough as Nails, Gravity and Thor went through in battle nine, Storm 2 beat Tornado, Tough as Nails got the decision against Robochicken, Typhoon 2 beat Storm 2.
Can a robot be said to be in the pit when most of the robot is in pieces all over the arena?😆😆😆

Brandon Lee QQi you forget that due to its impeccable driving and low wedge front firestorm would easily beat tombstone. Drive straight under it drive up to the wall fire the flipper and tombstone would be slammed against the wall and could potentially bounce out of the arena or bounce off the wall and fly across the box.

Typhoon was pretty deadly, Storm 2 was just very tough and well armoured, with the angled armour also helping deflect the hits.

Watch Battlebots instead - the battles are far more interesting - they've got drones, rockets and no "pit" to ruin the action ;D
yes, and Battlebots managed to get 4 fights into a 1 hour timeslot. Sometimes those fights were less than a minute long. At least Robot Wars can be counted on toi give you what you're there for: robots fighting.

re-watching series 7 on pluto tv and honestly it was a really dull series. Boring matches with boring robots with more than ever having flippers, rules changed and after razer was cheated out of that win with tornado in series 6 it's like it caused a lot of classic and popular robots not to come back for series 7.
