  • Munnin knows the dogs are being fed so he knows he will get his share . But I tease him with a crisp I gave him earlier. So he bites me , Dances and has a cuddle . He knows what's really coming Never tease a Crow !

    I have never before heard someone call *anything* a "vicious little shit" as calmly as you just did.
    But I guess he's *your* vicious little shit, and that definitely makes a difference. :)

    They can't hurt with those beaks. The pressure applied is not enough to break the skin. So the way to train them is to lean into the peck and push the beak back as its closed on your finger. After you do that a few tines they learn not to peck

    Been feeding a pair of crow for months. One of them is used to me by now. The other is so rude. Today I was peering out at the I assume the female crow eating food i left it and the male started cawing loudly like it was snitching on me for noticing me like I was a danger lol. So rude. I almost want to give them less food 😆

    • @paddytray
      @paddytray  Před měsícem +2

      They seem to have a distinct call for me . My crow does it whenever he sees me . And then the local crows mimic him . We had a young crow visit the garden today . He sat chattering away with munnin for hours

    • @aeptacon
      @aeptacon Před měsícem +4

      @paddytray I think I know what you are referring to? I don't speak crow, but I can tell the difference between when the crows are yelling in excitement to see me vs when they consider someone/animal a danger lol. Gonna give them timeout. Maybe it will save me money because I feed too many crows since they are my only friends 😆. Oh yeah it is nesting season too so maybe that is why they are being extra careful.

    • @aeptacon
      @aeptacon Před měsícem +4

      @paddytray I wanted to provide an update. I could only stay mad at them for a day. So I went back to feeding them. I'm not sure if they understood that I was upset 🤣. I think the last time the female mistook me for an intruder because her male mate was yelling "beware". But today and yesterday when I saw them she actually trusts me and continue to stay as I put out food. And this time, when the male started warning her again, she just ignored him and stayed. soo I am very happy I have a solid relationship with my crow 😂. It is not easy keeping up with feeding them all this time. I feed them gourmet food lol.

    Is he handicapped or just young? It's rare, but I actually seen one with the leg condition and he seems to be thriving with his group. I incidentally tossed food at a grocery store and he flew down and had that poor hobble, but he was quick and able in getting food which I am relieved about.

    • @paddytray
      @paddytray  Před měsícem +4

      Yes he is handicapped. Splayed legs . I leave his coup open if he wanted or was able to fly he could. He is the 3rd crow we have rescued but unfortunately his injuries left him unable to fly .

      @@aeptacon he wa attacked by a cat as a fledgling. We fixed his wounds and he was released again . Only to be caught by a cat again . But this time falling into water . I found him before he drowned. His legs are splayed and he has no tail feathers so he cannot fly . He can walk but wouldn't be able to escape a predator . Trust me I spend all day with him everyday he is spoilt and cared for on call
